국내 비철금속 산업부문 온실가스 발생량 산정 방법에 관연 연구 (A Study on the Calculation Method about Emissions of Greenhouse Gases of Nonferrous-metal Industry Part in Domestic Nonferrous-metal Industry)

  • The aim of this study is to calculate process emission of GHGs(greenhouse gases) in nonferrous-metal industry, such as Zn, Pb, Cu and Ni. In addition, variation and emission of GHGs generated from these company were defined. And then, GHGs algorithm and calculation formular which were considered as production process in each part of nonferrous-metal industry were developed to develop calculation program of GHGs emission. These algorithm and calculation formular would present fundamental direction about other nonferrous-metal industry in the future.

수력발전댐에서 온실가스 연구 동향 분석 : 국외 사례를 중심으로 (Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Research Trends of Hydropower Dams: Focusing on Foreign Cases)

  • This research summarizes the generating factors of greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide) in hydropower dams and related domestic/foreign researches. Microorganisms and eutrophication are the main factors in greenhouse gases in hydropower dam reservoirs. The greenhouse gas emission from the hydropower dam is affected by meteorological factors and dam operation periods, and greenhouse gases are also emitted from the outlets. The fluxes of greenhouse gas emission from the hydropower dams were -926~180,806 mg CO2 m-2d-1, -0.19~3800 mg CH4 m-2d-1, and 0.01~16.1 mg N2O m-2d-1. In South Korea, the study on the greenhouse gas emission from Korean hydropower dams has been rarely, and therefore it is inquired. This research suggested the methods on the greenhouse gas emission from Korean hydropower dams and flux calculation.

차량시뮬레이터를 활용한 도로기하구조 조건별 CO2 산정 연구 (Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions as Highway Design Types by Using Driving Simulator)

  • PURPOSES : This study devotes its energies to estimate greenhouse gas emissions for types of horizontal highway designs. METHODS : This paper suggested two types of road scenarios, scenario 1 is made by the lack of road design consistency. Beside scenario 1, scenario 2 is made by good road design. For comparisons of greenhouse gas emissions, driving simulator was used. RESULTS : Emission rates of road scenario 1 are 1.4 times higher than scenario 2 in the driving simulator. CONCLUSIONS : This study may have important implications for contributing to the application of road alignment technology for reduction of greenhouse gases as quantifying the correlations between greenhouse emissions and various road alignments. Consequently, this study will help road designers determine which roads are best alternatives in the process of choosing the roads in the future in terms of environmental benefits.

초등 예비교사들의 온실효과 관련 핵심 개념들에 대한 이해 (Preservice Elementary Teachers' Understandings of the Key Concepts related to the Greenhouse Effect)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary student teachers' conceptions about the mechanism of the greenhouse effect, the greenhouse gases, the global warming, and their learning experiences of the greenhouse effect and the global warming. Participants were 82 student teachers in their second year of studies (science education: n=28, not science education: n=27) and in their fourth year of studies (science education: n=27). The open-ended questionnaire was used to examine the teachers' spontaneous ideas depicted by their drawings and/or writings. The results of this study are as follows: First, the student teachers' scientific response rate about key concepts related to the mechanism of the greenhouse effect was low (6.1%~28.0%); Second, although there are various greenhouse gases, it was only carbon dioxide that the student teacher's response rate was more than 80%; Third, only 17.1% of the student teachers clearly distinguished the greenhouse effect and the global warming; Fourth, there was a tendency that the student teacher group in the fourth year of studies and science education showed higher scientific response rate about the concepts than the other two groups.

대학 캠퍼스의 에너지 소비 실태 조사를 통한 탄소 인센티브 제도 연구 (A Study on Carbon Incentive System Based on Investigation of Energy Consumption in Korean Universities)

  • Universities which have taken an important role to develop the human resources, became one of emitters of greenhouse gases, they need to find a way to reduce global warming gases through reduction of energy consumption. This study is intented to propose a solution that can reduce the greenhouse gases at universities located in Korea. To conduct this study, we have chosen a university at Wonju in Kangwon province for a case study and investigated the emissions of carbon dioxide from campus facilities and residential area. The data has become a footstone to estimate the assumed amount of carbon emission for top 23 energy consumption universities in Korea. We calculate the amount for carbon emission, not only for facilities in campus, but also for residential buildings, amount for emission is increased severely by showing $9780.94tCO_2$, which is 2.1 times more than average amount for emission of greenhouse gases researched in existing statistics. Universities have difficulty in introducing new energy generation system, as having been done business companies or other commercial facilities but they are required to introduce some educational methods since it is a academic space. Incentive to universities reducing carbon emission in campus is a system to provide incentives with students, professors, administrative personnels and others in campus as a compensation for their efforts to save energy. It is needed to establish the infrastructures for measuring energy consumption in campus.

Monitoring of Climate Change of Northeast Asia and Background Atmosphere in Korea

  • In general, the parameters of climate change include aerosol chemical compounds, aerosol optical depth, greenhouse gases(carbon dioxide, CFCs, methane, nitrous oxide, tropospheric ozone), ozone distribution, precipitation acidity and chemical compounds, persistent organic pollutants and heavy metals, radioactivity, solar radiation including ultra-violet and standard meteorological parameters. Over the last ten years, the monitoring activities of Korea regarding to the climate change have been progressed within the WMO GAW and ACE-Asia IOP programs centered at the observation sites of Anmyeon and Jeju Gosan islands respectively. The Greenhouse gases were pointed out that standard air quality monitoring techniques are required to enhance data comparability and that data presentation formats need to be harmonized and easily understood. Especially, the impact of atmospheric aerosols on climate depends on their optical properties, which, in turn, are a function of aerosol size distribution and the spectral reflective indices. Aerosol optical depth and single scattering albedo in the visible are used as the two basic parameters in the atmospheric temperature variation studies. The former parameter is an indicator of the attenuation power of aerosols, while the latter represents the relative strength of scattering and absorption by aerosols. For aerosols with weak absorption, surface temperature decreases as the optical depth increases because of the domination of backscattering. For aerosols with strong absorption, however, warming could occur as the optical depth increases. The objective of the study is to characterize the means, variability, and trends of Greenhouse gases and aerosol properties on a regional basis using data from its baseline observatories in Korea peninsula. A further goal is to understand the factors that control radiative forcing of the greenhouse and aerosol.

  • "파리 협정"을 통해 출범된 신기후체제에 따라 세계 각국에서 온실가스를 감축하기 위한 정책과 연구가 수행되고 있으며, 우리나라에서도 온실가스 감축을 위한 대책 마련이 시급한 실정이다. IEA 보고서에 따르면 에너지 부분의 $CO_2$ 배출량이 전체 배출량의 2/3에 해당하기 때문에 온실가스 감축을 위해서는 단기적으로는 화석연료 사용을 대체할 수 있는 신재생에너의 생산과 적용 기술 개발과 에너지효율개선 기술 도입이 최선이며, 장기적인 관점에서는 온실가스를 포집하고 활용하는 온실가스 포집 및 활용(CCUS, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage) 기술 개발이 필수적이다. CCUS 기술은 온실가스를 직접적으로 감축시키는 기술로 활발하게 연구되고 있는 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 CCUS 기술 개요 및 연구 현황과 향후 전망에 대해서 살펴보았다.

LEAP 모형을 활용한 전자소재·부품업의 온실가스 감축 잠재량 분석 (Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Potentials in a Electronic·Electrical components company using LEAP Model)

  • This study analyzed the energy demand, greenhouse gas emission and greenhouse gas reduction potential of Electronic Electrical components company. The LEAP model targeting long term energy plan was used to establish the most efficient plan for the companies by examining the climate change policy of government and the countermeasures by companies. A scenario was created by having 11 greenhouse gases reduction plans to be introduced from 2011 as the basic plan. Regarding input data, energy consumption by business place and by use, number of employee from 2009 to 2012, land area and change in number of business places were utilized. The study result suggested that approximately 13,800 TJ of energy will be spent in 2020, which is more than 2 times of 2012 energy consumption. When the integrated scenario based on the reduction plan of companies would be enforced, approximately 3,000 TJ will be reduced in 2020. The emission of greenhouse gases until 2020 was forecasted as approximately 760,000 ton $CO_2eq$. When the integrated scenario would be enforced, the emission will be approximately 610,000 ton $CO_2eq$, which is decrease by approximately 150,000 ton $CO_2eq$. This study will help the efficient responding of eElectronic Electrical components company in preparing detail report on objective management system and enforcement plan. It will also contribute in their image as environment-friendly companies by properly responding to the regulation reinforcement of government and greenhouse gases emission target based on environment policy.

교통부문 온실가스 배출량 저감을 위한 교통수요관리 방안 전략 연구 (The Strategies of Transport Demand Management to Decrease the Greenhouse Gases in Transportation Part)

  • 지속적인 증가추세를 보이는 화석연료 사용은 지구온난화라는 심각한 환경적, 경제적 문제를 발생시키고 있다. 이에 따른 대비책으로 국제사회는 기후협약과 같은 국제 협약을 통한 온실가스 감축 노력을 경주하기 시작했다. 우리나라도 "녹색성장"을 정책의 주요 패러다임으로 하는 온실가스 감축노력의 일환으로 미래 60년 비전인 "저탄소 녹색성장"의 실천적 목표를 제시한 바 있다. 동시에 이를 달성하기 위한 핵심전략으로 온실가스 감축목표 설정의 필요성을 절감하고 2050년까지의 "녹색성장 국가전략"과 이를 이행하기 위한 "녹색성장 5개년계획"에 온실가스 감축목표를 포함한 바 있다. 최근 들어 정부는 녹색성장위원회의 건의를 수용하여 온실가스 저감 시나리오 중 가장 적극적 대안인 시나리오 3, 즉 2020년까지 2005년도 발생량 대비 4%저감을 정부의 온실가스 감축목표로 설정하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 정부의 정책 목표달성을 지원하기 위하여 교통부문 온실가스 배출량 저감을 위한 교통수요관리 방안 전략을 수립하고 동 전략의 시행에 따른 온실가스 감축효과를 측정하였다. 그 결과 고강도 교통수요관리 방안 전략을 시행할 경우 매년 국가 온실가스 저감목표 중 3.1%에 해당하는 7.59백만t$CO_2eq$를 교통부문에서 저감할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 정책적 필요 정도에 따라 교통수요관리 방안 전략을 수준별, 단계별로 구분 시행할 경우 저탄소 녹색성장이라는 정부정책 목표달성에 기여할 수 있는 효과적 정책도구로 활용될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

  • Recently many countries agreed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere or at least to keep them at the current level at the Kyoto Protocol. Carbon dioxide has been proven to be 80% of greenhouse gases, contributing to the increase of the earth's surface temperature. It is reported that half of the $CO_2$ emissions are produced by industry and power plants using fossil fuels. In this article, we review and analysis domestic and abroad R & D policy trends relating to UN framework convention on climate change(UNFCCC).
