  • In this paper, we confirmed the yellowish gravity-mura phenomenon in Fringe-Field Switching (FFS) mode using 2-D simulation. As the cell gap increases, while the LC efficiency of blue wavelength remains almost same, that of red and green wavelength increases continuously. As a result, yellowish phenomenon occurs.

  • The response analysis of frame structure with open section beams considering warping conditions and short duration load have been performed. When a beam of frame structure is subjected under torsional moment, the cross section will deform a warping as well as twist. For some thin-walled sections warping will be large, and accompanying warping restraint will induce axial and shear stresses and reduce the twist of beam which stiffens the beam in torsion. Because of impact or blast loads, the wave propagation effects become increasingly important as load duration decreases. This paper presents that a warping restraint in finite element model effects the behavior of beam deformation, dynamic mode shape and response analysis. The computer modelling of frame is discussed in linear beam element model and linear thin shell element model, also presents a correlation between computer predicted and actual experimental results for static deflection, natural frequencies and mode shapes of frame. A method to estimate the number of normal modes that are important is discussed.

  • This paper is concerned about an Accelerated Life Test for Micro Display Device which is being used in a Projection TV, in order to find a failure mode occurred in field in a short time, to identify a major factor to affect a life, and to estimate a mean life. For this purpose, we selected a temperature as a accelerated factor to perform a test and measured degradation of display device using visual inspection and chromaticity table. In the result of Accelerated Life Test, it is confirmed that failure mode is equal to the degradation of display device by vendor and the Temperature is a major factor to affect a failure. Besides, according as the display device is turned to green as degraded, it is identified that the change of the chromaticity value is one method to measure the degree of the degradation . So, we applied the optimal condition, which consider a cost and life to lower the Temperature which is a major factor acquired by the result of ALT, to PTV design

The period of Romanticism in fine arts was from the end 18th century up to the first half of 19th century. The characteristics of shilouttes were found in the emphasis owomen's body line. This feature of romantic fashion is founded in 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990'mode. Major characters of this times are retro of romantic costume. As time goes by, more romantic fashion was set up and new corncern of 2000 fashion trend. The Characteristics of romantic image in 2000 of fashion trend are the emphasis of romantic details and decorations. Such as ruffle, frill, shirring, beads, spangle, sequin, flower. Trend colors are pink, lilac, aqua blue, yellow, green, pastel color. Trend materials chiffon, organza, satin, velvet, gauze, georgette, lace and glittery material. And floral print and stripe print. Forwardlooking fashion is ethnicromantic image influenced India. Trend and fashion have very close relationship and if it is fully comprehended, it will be good opportunity to awkardness againnst new fashion line.

  • We propose viewing angle switchable liquid crystal display(LCD) associated with fringe-field switching (FFS) mode with high aperture ratio characteristic. This device is composed of R(red), G(green), B(blue), pixel and W(white) pixel in which R,G,B pixel shows image and white pixel for both viewing angle control and image. Conventional viewing angle controllable liquid crystal display has not transmittance because the liquid crystal only tilts up without rotates in viewing angle control region. In this paper, we suggested that the device has high transmittance characteristic because the LC directors are rotated in which viewing angle control region are generated fringe electric field.

  • Inspection of vehicle systems is regularly performed by the state to ensure the emission status and the safety of vehicles. Thereby, the safety and quality of life can be improved by reducing green-house gases and fine dust, which are the main causes of vehicle defects and air pollution. This study analyzed the soot measuring probes used in the free acceleration mode method, at no-load condition, looking at the efficiency of a probe to measure soot emissions from diesel vehicles. In this study, a technique that can improve the inhalation efficiency of the probe over the (a) probes and the improved (b) probes was applied to probes (c). Probe (c) involves a structure designed close to the center of the circumference of the exhaust pipe. Results showed that the suction efficiency was improved by adding a variable center unit.

  • The pollution problem of fossil energy sources has caused the development of green energy harvesting systems. Piezoelectric energy harvesting technology has been developed under those external environmental factors. A piezoelectric energy harvester can be defined as a device which transforms mechanical vibration or impact energy into electrical energy. Most researches have focused on bender structures. However, these have a limitation on energy efficiency because of the small effective electromechanical coupling factor, around 10%. Therefore, we should look for a new design for energy harvesting. A cymbal energy harvester can be a good candidate for the high-power energy harvester because it uses a high amplification mechanism using endcaps while keeping a higher electromechanical coupling factor. In this research, we focused on energy efficiency improvements of the cymbal energy harvester by changing the polarization direction, because the electromechanical coupling factor of the k33 mode and the k15 mode is larger than that of the k31 mode. Theoretically, we checked the cymbal harvester with radial polarization and it could obtain 6 times larger energy than that with the k31 direction polarization. Furthermore, we verified the theoretical expectation using the finite element method program. Consequently, we could expect a more efficient cymbal harvester with the radial polarization by comparing two polarization directions.

  • The study aims to investigate differences between men and women in influence of various socio-demographic factors on choice of mode of transport. For this purpose, a binary logit model of choice probabilities is implemented on survey data of a developing country city. Results indicate women's choice of travel mode to be more environment-friendly than that of men. Well-educated, working and middle-aged individuals appear to be the most likely to choosing more-polluting modes of transport for frequent travelling purposes. Individuals in the sample who are the least socioeconomically well off are found the most likely to be promising for the environment. The findings of this study suggest the future transportation policies toward development of existing infrastructure of greener modes of transportation in the city such as, public transportation services and pedestrian lanes, so as to manage the rising issues of degrading environmental quality. The study highlights how the consideration and inclusion of socio-demographic factors is crucial for policy recommendation regarding curtailing the environmental damages contributed by transportation sector. Because mobility crucially affects all other indicators of empowerment, and women are the ones using green modes extensively, the city's transportation system should be so developed which gives their safety and security due importance.

  • Radiation from a cavity-backed circular aperture surrounded by concentric corrugations is studied. An electromagnetic boundary-value problem of the cavity-backed circular aperture surrounded by concentric corrugations is solved by using the Green's function, Hankel transform, and mode matching method. The radiated fields are computed in terms of corrugation geometry to illustrate radiation behaviors and measured to validate our computation. The effects of the corrugation geometries on the radiation are discussed.
