본 연구에서 사용된 GO (grapheme oxide) sheets는 Hummer's 방법에 따라 제조되었으며, PVdF 나노섬유 지지체 위에 에탄올에 분산시킨 GO용액을 분사함으로써, 최종적으로 PVdF/GO 하이브리드 나노섬유막(FG)을 제조하였다.

  • In this study, forced vibration behavior of a piezo magneto electric sandwich Timoshenko beam is investigated. It is assumed a sandwich beam with porous core and graphene platelet reinforced composite (GPLRC) in facesheets subjected to magneto-electro-elastic and temperature-dependent material properties. The magneto electro platelets are under linear function along with the thickness that includes a cosine function and magnetic and electric constant potentials. The governing equations of motion are derived using modified strain gradient theory for microstructures. The effects of material length scale parameters, temperature change, different distributions of porous, various patterns of graphene platelets, and the core to face sheets thickness ratio on the natural frequency and excited frequency of a sandwich Timoshenko beam are scrutinized. Various size-dependent methods effects such as MSGT, MCST, and CT on the natural frequency is considered. Moreover, the final results affirm that the increase in porosity coefficient and volume fractions lead to an increase in the amount of natural frequency; while vice versa for the increment in the aspect ratio. From forced vibration analysis, it is understood that by increasing the values of volume fraction and the length thickness of GPL, the maximum deflection of a sandwich beam decreases. Also, it is concluded that increasing the temperature, the thickness of GPL, and the initial force leads to a decrease in the maximum deflection of GPL. It is also shown that resonance phenomenon occurs when the natural and excitation frequencies become equal to each other. Outcomes also reveal that the third natural frequency owns the minimum value of both deflection and frequency ratio and the first natural frequency has the maximum.

  • A one-step high-temperature solvothermal approach to the synthesis of monolayer or bilayer $MoS_2$ anchored onto reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheet (denoted as $MoS_2/RGO$) is described. It was found that single-layered or double-layered $MoS_2$ were synthesized directly without an extra exfoliation step and well dispersed on the surface of crumpled RGO sheets with random orientation. The prepared $MoS_2/RGO$ composites delivered a high reversible capacity of $900mAhg^{-1}$ after 200 cycles at a current density of $200mAg^{-1}$ as well as good rate capability as anode active material for lithium ion batteries. This one-step high-temperature hydrothermal strategy provides a simple, cost-effective and eco-friendly way to the fabrication of exfoliated $MoS_2$ layers deposited onto RGO sheets.

  • Carbon nanotubes are graphene sheets rolled up in cylinders with diameter as small as 1nm. Extensive work carried out in recent years has revealed the intriguing properties of this novel material. Exceptional property combined with low density of nanotubes makes them suitable for use as reinforcements in composites. Low volume of production and high cost is the main limitations towards their growth and application. Nanofibres bridge the gap between the conventional carbon fibre and the carbon nanotubes. With their low cost & comparatively higher volume of production along with their exceptional properties, the nanofibres are considered attractive material as nanoscale reinforcement. In this article a concise review of structure, property. production and application of carbon nanotubes and nanofibres have been discussed.

  • The polymer with contents of $C_{60}$ up to 57 wt.% was produced by mutual condensation of fullerene $C_{60}$ and ethylenediamine. The investigations of this polymer as well as pristine fullerene to comparison were carried out by FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, ToF-SIMS, TGA, and elemental analysis. At least three kinds of components was revealed as building blocks of polymer. The fullerene cage underwent only distortion but didn't destroy during formation of polymer. The pure fullerene was found as an intermediate of the thermal decomposition of polymer. The conclusion that this polymer could serve as precursor to produce carbon nanomaterial with high concentration curved graphene sheets and can be used for gas adsorption and electrochemical application was made.

  • In this paper, a finite element (FE) simulation has been developed in order to examine the nonlinear stability of reinforced sandwich beams with graphene oxide powders (GOPs). In this regard, the nonlinear stability curves have been obtained asuming that the beam is under compressive loads leading to its buckling. The beam is considered to be a three-layered sandwich beam with metal core and GOP reinforced face sheets and it is rested on elastic substrate. Moreover, a higher-order refined beam theory has been considered to formulate the sandwich beam by employing the geometrically perfect and imperfect beam configurations. In the solving procedure, the utalized finite element simulation contains a novel beam element in which shear deformation has been included. The calculated stability curves of GOP-reinforced sandwich beams are shown to be dependent on different parameters such as GOP amount, face sheet thickness, geometrical imperfection and also center deflection.

  • In the present study, we aim to use nanotechnology sensors/actuators to capture pressure and frequency of voice singers and to send signals for improving breathing pressure. In this regard, a circular composite structure having 3 different layers are used. The core layer is nano-composite material reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets. The face sheets are piezo electric materials connected to electrical circuit capable of measuring and applying voltage to the piezoelectric layers. This sensors have extremely smaller size than conventional sensors attached to the neck of singer and, hence, minimizes the influences on the output voice of the singer. A brief theoretical framework are presented for nonlocal strain gradient theory and geometry of the sensor is described in detail. The controlling procedure along with experimental results on 20 amateur and professional singer participants are also presented. The results of the study indicate that the participants could gain benefit from the device for improving their ability in phonation and keeping their frequency at a constant level although they have difficulty in the beginning of the experiment getting used to the device.

  • Since carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are discovered, tremendous attentions have been paid to these materials due to their unique mechanical, electrical and chemical properties. Thereupon, many methods to produce a large scale of CNTs have been contrived by many scientists and engineers. Thus the examination of growth mechanisms of CNTs, which is essential to produce CNTs in large scale, has been an attractive issue. Though many scientists have been strived to investigate and understand the growth mechanisms of CNTs, many of them still remain controversial or unclear. Here we introduce representative growth mechanisms of CNTs, based on broadly employed fabrication methods of CNTs. We applied Thermo-electrical Pulse Induced Evaporation (TPIE) method based on field and thermal evaporation to synthesis of CNTs. However TPIE method was originally devised to fabricate graphene sheets and $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ nanostructures. While performing TPIE experiments to synthesize graphene, we eventually found experimental results widely supporting the growth model of CNTs proposed already. We observed the procedure of growth of CNTs obtained by TPIE method through Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). We believe this study provides an experimental basis on understanding and investigating carbon-based nanomaterials.

  • In this work, pure hierarchical ZnO structure was prepared using a simple hydrothermal method, and Ag nanoparticles doped hierarchical ZnO structure was synthesized uniformly through photochemical route. The reduced graphene oxide (rGO) has been synthesized by typical Hummer's method and reduced by hydrazine. Prepared Ag/ZnO nanostructures are uniformly dispersed on the surface of rGO sheets using ultrasonication process. The synthesized samples were characterized by SEM, TEM, EDS, XRD and PL spectra. The average size of prepared ZnO microspheres was around $2{\sim}3{\mu}m$ and showed highly uniform. The average size of doped-Ag nanoparticles was 50 nm and decorated into ZnO/rGO network. The $C_2H_2$ gas sensing properties of as-prepared products were investigated using resistivity-type gas sensor. Ag/ZnO-rGO based sensors exhibited good performances for $C_2H_2$ gas in comparison with the Ag/ZnO. The $C_2H_2$ sensor based on Ag/ZnO-rGO had linear response property from 3~1000 ppm of $C_2H_2$ concentration at working temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. The response values with 100 ppm $C_2H_2$ at $200^{\circ}C$ were 22% and 78% for Ag/ZnO and Ag/ZnO-rGO, respectively. In additions, the sensor still shows high sensitivity and quick response/recovery to $C_2H_2$ under high relative humidity conditions. Moreover, the device shows excellent selectivity towards to $C_2H_2$ gas at optimal working temperature of $200^{\circ}C$.

  • In this work, $SnO_2$ modified with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) separately and combined sensitized by using the co-precipitation method and their sensing behavior toward ethanol vapor at room temperature were investigated. An interdigitated electrode (IDE) gold substrate is very expensive compared to a fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate; hence, we used the latter to reduce the fabrication cost. The structure and the morphology of the studied materials were characterized by using differential thermal analyses (DTA) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area and Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) pore size measurements. The studied composites were subjected to ethanol in its gas phase at concentrations from 10 to 200 ppm. The present composites showed high-performance sensitivity for many reasons: the incorporation of $SnO_2$ and CNTs which prevents the agglomeration of rGO sheets, the formation of a 3D mesopourus structure and an increase in the surface area. The decoration with rGO and CNTs led to more active sites, such as vacancies, which increased the adsorption of ethanol gas. In addition, the mesopore structure and the nano size of the $SnO_2$ particles allowed an efficient diffusion of gases to the active sites. Based on these results, the present composites should be considered as efficient and low-cost sensors for alcohol.
