Clinical assessment of bone-graft healing in the maxillofacial region is generally limited to clinical evaluation, radiographs, and biopsy. Sequential interpretation of osseous repair, more sensitive than with conventional radiography is possible with a non-invasive, non-destructive radionuclide method. Technetium-99m radionuclide bone scan was used in the evaluation of the progress of osteogenic activity in autologous iliac bone graft and freeze-dried bone allograft of dog's mandible. Bone scan was performed at 1wk, 2wk, 4wk, 6wk, and 8wk after grafting. In autologous graft the activity ratio for the graft bone remained greater than that of the host since 2자 after grafting; however, in lyophilized allograft the activity ratio for graft bone was greater than that of the host at 6자 after grafting.
Polypropylene nonwoven fabrics were grafted with acrylic acid by a preirradiation method by using electron beam accelerator. The effect of irradiation dose, storage time, concentration of acrylic acid, reaction temperature, reaction time and Mohr's salt concentration on the degree of grafting were investigated in detail. The grafted Polypropylene nonwoven fabrics were characterized using IR spectroscopy and SEM. The results showed that the degree of grafting increased with increasing absorbed dose and the Mohr's salt in the acrylic acid solution promoted grafting efficiency.

Maxillary sinus grafting is a dependable procedure that has been in use for a long time. However, clinical complications often arise. To prevent complications of maxillary sinus grafting, it is necessary to know the contra-indications, both for general implantation and for maxillary bone grafting. In addition, presence of various complications requires careful consideration of treatment method; therefore, dentists should be familiar with the treatment protocols. Complications can be divided into postoperative, immediate postoperative, and delayed postoperative complications. Particularly for the outpatient, it is necessary to quickly distinguish between treatable cases and cases for which transfer is required. The purpose of this review is to discuss the contra-indications, complications, and treatment options for complications of maxillary sinus graft.

Although modern medicine has made great strides in the management of burn injuries, associated complications such as pain, infection, dyspigmentation, and scarring have yet to be fully dealt with. Although skin grafting and meshing are routinely performed on burn patients, this method poses a risk for adverse effects. Activated autologous platelet-rich plasma (aaPRP), which is increasingly used in the field of plastic surgery, contains growth factors beneficial for wound regeneration. Seven cases of burns with varying severity and conditions that were treated with intralesional subcutaneous injection and intravenous aaPRP are presented and discussed herein. This case series indicates that subcutaneous and intravenous aaPRP is a safe procedure with the potential to be an alternative when skin grafting cannot be done or as an adjunct treatment to skin grafting.
폴리프로필렌(PP)으로 그래프트된 그래핀 옥사이드(PP-grafted GO)는 2-bromoisobutyryl 그룹을 가진 GO(GO-Br)와 하이드록시 그룹을 가진 PP(PP-OH)와의 "grafting-to" 화학반응을 통하여 제조하였다.

Grafting using a pumpkin (Cucurbita sp.) rootstock is an effective way to improve cucumber (Cucumis sativus) resistance to a combination of chilling and salinity stresses. We evaluated the tolerance of 15 pumpkin cultivars to chilling, salinity, and combined stresses at the germination and seedling stages. Selected plant characteristics, including germination rate, germination potential, germination index, plant height, stem thickness, fresh weight, and dry weight, were analyzed. We used the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean for cluster analyses to determine the stress tolerance levels of the pumpkin cultivars. The 15 cultivars were divided into three clusters: tolerant, moderately tolerant, and susceptible to stress treatments. The stress tolerances of all cultivars were variable in the germination and seedling stages, and most cultivars were not tolerant to individual treatments of chilling or salinity stresses at both stages. These results suggest that identifying suitable cultivars for use as rootstock during cucumber grafting should involve the evaluation of stress tolerance during different growth stages. Additionally, cultivars tolerant to chilling stress may not be tolerant to salinity stress; therefore, the choice of pumpkin rootstock should depend on where the grafted plant will be grown. Cultivars tolerant to a combination of chilling and salinity stresses may be useful as rootstock for cucumber grafting. Our findings may serve as reference material for choosing appropriate pumpkin rootstocks for cucumber grafting.
Alveolar cleft exists in 75% of cleft patients, In alveolar cleft patients, alar base is widening, palatal fistular formation, maxillary growth disturbance & tooth loss of adjacent area is raised, Alveolar bone grafting, especially iliac bone grafting, is a general treatment method. As operation timing, bone grafting is classified with primary, early secondary, secondary, & late secondary, Here we report cleft width, marginal bone height, bone resorption rate, grafted shape & bone densities after secondary iliac bone grafting was done in the Dept. of oral and maxillofacial surgery of chonbuk national university hospital. We compared cleft width to bone resorption rate and grafted shape. Also, alveolar bone densities of grafted and contralateral site was compared with Emago 3 package? (Oral Diagonostic System, The Netherlands), The data obtained were analyzed using Spearman's rho coefficients and sign test with SPSS for window, The results were obtained as follows. 1. As alveolar cleft width is increase, bone resorption rate is, too. This relation showed significant difference(P<.01). 2, In proximal & distal area, alvolar cleft width and bone graft contour after bone grafting had a reverse proportional difference. It was not significant difference(P>.05). 3. After 3 month, in bone density results by using Emago 3 package? with periapical standard view, occlusal view & panoramic view, differences between grafted bone and alveolar bone of contralateral site didn't show a significant difference(P>.05). Thus, differences of bone densities in the alveolar bones didn't exist.
