맥반석의 항균활성 (Antibacterial Activity of Elven)

  • 맥반석 (Holon Killer Sand, Letsoken, Nikko Co.)의 성분분석 및 그 추출물의 항균활성을 실험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 실험에 사용한 맥반석의 무기질 조성은 아연(Zn)이 가장 많이 함유되어 있었으나 인체에 유해성 무기성분은 함유되어 있지 않았다. 항균활성 실험에서 24시간 배양한 세균의 활성은 Bacillus subtilis가 가장 크게 나타났으며, 다음은 Stapylococcus aureus순이었고, Stapylococcus mutans는 항균력이 거의 없었다. 또한 각 세균에 대한 추출물 농도별 항균활성은 추출물의 농도에 따라 강한 항균활성을 나타내었다. 한편 수삼 부패균을 분류하여 이에 대한 맥반석 추출물의 항균활성을 측정한 결과 수삼 부패균에 대하여 맥반석 추출물은 항균활성이 인정되었다.

길항미상물에 의한 White Clover ( Trifolium repens L. ) 생산성 향상에 관한 연구 (Studies on White Clover Yield Increase by Antagonistic Bacteria)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of antagonistic bacteria and pathogenic fungi on growth and yields of white clover(Trifo1iurn repens L.) in continuous cropping soil(CCS) and non-continuous cropping soil(NCCS). The gowth experiment of white clover was conducted at pots in a vinyl house. White clover was established by seeding into pots of 12 cm in diameter and 9 cm in depth containing 1:l mixture of soil and vermiculite with antagonistic bacteria and pathogenic fungi. In dark culture experiment, white clover lived longer in treatment of antagonistic bacteria than in treatment of control, but lived shorter in CCS than in NCCS. Dry weight of white clover was increased by the inoculation of the antagonistic bacteria(p< 0.05), but decreased by the inoculation of the pathogenic fungi(p< 0.05) both CCS and NCCS. In conclusion, bacterization of white clover with antagonistic bacteria enhances the growth and yield of white clover.

임상별 임간인삼의 생육과 최적환경에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on the Growth and Environments of Panax ginseng in the Different Forest Stands (I))

  • 임간인삼의 생육특성을 조사하기 위해서 활엽수, 침엽수, 혼효림 3가지 연구지를 선정하였다. 연구지는 이미 산지인삼이 비슷한 연령으로 분포하는 지역을 선정하였고 대상 연구지의 환경과 생육특성 등을 조사하였다. 세 임분 공동적으로 상층목의 평균 수령이 20~25년이고 평균 DBH는 14~17cm였다. 평균 수고는 약 7.8~8.5 m 정도였다. 하층식생으로는 마, 더덕, 실새풀 등의 초본류가 차지하고 있다. 산지인삼의 생육은 활엽수림에서 생장한 산지인삼이 침엽수나 혼효림의 것보다 약간 좋은 것으로 나타났지만 그 차이가 미세해서 내년도에 연령이 많은 산지인삼을 대상으로 더 자료를 수집할 필요가 있다. 앞으로 이러한 기초자료를 토대로 생리적인 자료를 확보하는 것이 필요하고, 그러기 위해서 광합성능력, 기공의 형태, 증산량 등의 생리적인 자료를 확보해야 한다.

Preliminary Study of the Effects of CO2 on the Survival and Gowth of Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) Juveniles

  • As a result of human industrial development, carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) is currently accumulating in the atmosphere and dissolving into the oceans. Sequestration into the deep sea has been proposed as a possible solution to this increasing atmospheric $CO_2$, although the impact of such a program on marine ecosystems is unknown. We examined the effects of increased $CO_2$ levels on the growth of the olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus. Juvenile olive flounder 40 days post hatching were exposed to two levels of $CO_2$ (3.60-7.55 and 4.05-11.46 kPa) in running seawater for 26 days. During the exposure period, the pH and $CO_2$ levels of the water were measured, and the numbers of dead individuals were counted in each aquarium. Following the exposure period, the total lengths (mm) and body weights (mg) of the juvenile fish were measured. Both $CO_2$ treatments significantly increased fish mortality compared to controls ($19.87\pm4.53%$ vs. 7.14% and $75.96\pm1.36%$ vs. 7.14% for high and low doses, respectively). After the high $CO_2$ treatment, total length ($14.98\pm6.58$ mm vs. $19.52\pm1.83$ mm) and body weight ($28.92\pm13.85$ mg vs. $67.35\pm18.32$ mg) of the exposed flounder were reduced compared to the control fish; however, no significant differences in these values were observed after the low $CO_2$ dose. These results suggested that $CO_2$ exposure inhibits growth in the juvenile stage and that $CO_2$-enriched seawater is toxic in the early life stages of olive flounder.

복수암 생쥐와 인체 암세포에 대한 알로에의 항암 작용 (Anticancer Effects of Aloe on Sarcoma 180 in ICR Mouse and on Human Cancer Cell Lines)

  • Anticancer effects of Aloe on sarcoma 180 in ICR mouse or human cancer cells were determined. Sarcoma 180 cells were inoculated subcutaneously into male ICR mouse to determine effect of Aloe on tumor gowth, or inoculated intraperitoneally into male ICR mouse to determine effect of Aloe on life span prolongation, followed by oral administration of Aloe vera(10 mg/kg/day, 50 mg/kg/day) or Aloe arborescens(10 mg/kg/day, 100 mg/kg/day) once a day for 14 days. The administration of Aloe vera or Aloe arborescens did not suppress tumor growh. However the life span of ICR mouse was prolonged to 19%(p<0.05), 22%(p<0.05) and 32%(p<0.05) by administration of Aloe vera 10 mg/kg/day, Aloe vera 50 mg/kg/day, and Aloe arborescens 100 mg/kg/day, respectively. To determine anticancer effect of Aloe in vitro, Aloe extract was added to the culture of human gastric cancer cells(SNU-1) and colorectal cancer cells(SNU-C2A), and concentration of Aloe to inhibit cancer cell growth was determined using MTT(3-[ 4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) cytotoxicity assay. High $ID_{50}$ values of Aloe vera and Aloe arborescens against gastric cancer cell line(SNU-1) and colorectal cancer cell line(SNU-C2A) suggest that Aloe gel does not have anticancer effect on these specific human cancer cells although high concentration of Aloe inhibited growth of human cancer cells significantly.

SiC/Co 반응의 계면화학 (Interface chemistry of SiC/Co reaction)

  • SiC/Co 반응커플을 Ar/4 vol% $H_2$분위기하에서 $950^{\circ}C$에서 $1250^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 4시간에서 100시간까지 열처리하였다. $950^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서의 고상반응으로 여러 가지 규소화물과 탄소석출이 형성되었다. 이 반응 zone에 있어서의 전형적인 반응층의 순서는 $SiC/CoSi + C/Co_2Si + C/Co_2Si/Co_2Si + C/{\cdots\cdots}/Co_2Si/Co$이었다. 그리고 탄소 석출거동을 동반한 주기적인 띠구조의 형성기구가 반응운동학과 열역학적인 고찰을 통하여 조사되어졌고 논하여졌다. 이 반응의 zone의 서장은 시간의 함수관계를 가지며 이러한 반응운동학이 반응상수의 측정을 통하여 제시되어진다. 또한 microhardness 측정을 통하여 반응 zone의 기계적인 물성이 조사되어졌다.

Platelet - derived growth factor-BB와 Insulin Iike gowth factor-1이 e- PTFE를 이용한 치근 이개부의 조직유도재생에 미치는 영향 (The Effect Of Platelet - Derived Growth Factor And Insulin - Like Growth Factor On The Guided Tissue Regeneration In The Treatment Of Human Furcation Involvement)

  • The aim of the present investigation was to see the effect of combined use of PDGF BB and IGF -1 on the guided tissue regeneration(GTR) using barrier membrane in the treatment of human furcation involvement. Twelve patients with initially diagnosed as having moderate to advanced adult periodontitis with mandibular class II buccal furcation defects have been wer selected. Initial scaling and root planing has been performed and baseline data consisting of probing depths and attachment levels have been recorded prior to surgical procedures. The GTR procedures using either barrier membrane(control : ePTFE) alone or together with the application of PDGF - BB and IGF -l(experimental : ePTFE+PDGF/IGF) have been done under the routine guidelines. During the surgery, the distance from CEJ either to the bottom of the bone defects(CEJ - BD) or to the bone crest(CEJ-BC) were measured. Horizontal distance to the deepest area in the furcal defects were measured from the reference line connection the most prominent bony walls of the two buccal roots. 6 months following the GTR therapy, all the measurements were made repeatedly. The probing attachment gain of the experimental and the control grous were 2.14mm and l.07mm, respectively with no statically significnant difference. Amont of vertical bone fill in the experimental and the control groups were 2.43mm and 2.29mm, rexpectively. Amonut of horizontal bone fill were 2.86mm in the experimental group and 2.17mm in the control group, respectively. However, there were no significant differences in the amount of bone fill(both vertical and horizontal)between the two groups.

문화콘텐츠산업의 파급효과 분석 (Role of the Cultural Contents Industry in the National Economy Analysis)

  • 2006년도에는 한국의 세계 문화콘텐츠 시장 점유율은 2.4%로 9위를 차지하고 있다. 따라서 문화콘텐츠 산업을 국내에서는 신성장동력산업으로 분류하고 있으며, 이에 따라 정부에서는 통합 콘텐츠정책추진체계 를 정비하면서, 불법복제를 근절, 저작권을 보호하고, 콘텐츠창작 역량을 강화하고 있으며, 기업의 해외시장개척에 지원을 하고 있다. 이렇듯 문화콘텐츠산업의 중요성은 나날이 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 산업연관분석을 통하여 문화콘텐츠산업의 생산유발효과, 부가가치유발효과, 취업유발효과, 공급지장효과 그리고 물가파급효과에 대한 시계열적인 흐름에 따른 크기의 변화를 분석하였다. 특히 물가파급효과의 경우 시간의 흐름에 따라 증가하였다. 이는 문화콘텐츠산업의 산출물의 가격변화가 타 산업에 미치는 영향이 점차 증가하고 있다는 것을 의미한다.

수종 한약제의 위암세포에 대한 항암작용 효능 검색 및 약리작용에 관한 분자생물학적 연구 (Molecular analysis on the pharmacological actions of oriental medicines in stomach cancer cells)

  • Traditional oriental medicines have been used for treatment of various kinds of human cancers for long times and some of them proven to be effective clinically. However, the pharmacological actions and mechanisms related to cancer treatment are generally unknown. In an effort to clarify the action mechanisms of several oriental medicines used for cancer treatments, we planned this experimental procedures. We selected Cordyceps sinensis (冬蟲下草), Punellae Herba (夏枯草), Rehmanniae Radix (熟地黃), Paeoniae Radix (白芍藥), Oldenlandiae Herba (白花蛇舌草), Partulaceae Herba (馬齒? ), Scdopendra subspinipes mutilans (蜈蚣), Mylabris Phalerara (班蟄), Phellinus igniarius(桑黃), Ganodermae Lignum(靈芝) for evaluation, which have been used for patients of gastric cancers. The twenty grams of medicines were boiled in 100ml of water for 1 hour and filtered with $0.2\;{\mu}m$ pore-sized filter unit to remove insoluble particles. Initially we evaluated the effects oriental medicines on growth inhibition in stomach cancer cells. The gastric cancer cell line, AGS, was cultured in RPMI 1640 supplemented with l0% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum and treated with $10{\mu}l$ oriental medicines per 1ml of medium up to 48 hours. The specimens were subjected to MTT assay for evaluation of growth inhibition. We found mat Mylabris phalerata (班蟄) markedly suppressed the growth of cancer cells as shown in results. Next, we checked the effects of oriental medicines on cancer on cell cycles and apptosis. Mylabrls phalerata (班蟄) inhibited cell cycle progression of cancer cells a compared with control cells and cells treated with other medicines. In addition, Mylabri phalerata (班蟄) induced apoptosis in 30-40% of stomch cancer cells within 24 hours. Other oriental medicines used for this experiments did not show apoptosis-inducing effects on cancer cells. Finally, we determined the expression levels of genes associated with cell cycle and apoptosis. The expressions of Bcl-2 and bcl-XL were downregulated by the treatment of Mylabris phalerata (班蟄). However, the expression levels of genes related to cell cycles were not altered significantly. In conclusion, we found that Mylabris phalerata (班蟄) has in vivo gowth-inhibiting and apptosis-inducing effects on stomach cancer cells. However, we think that at least animal experiments are necessay for evduations.
