An Exploratory Study on the Effect of Start-up Orientation in Business Performance

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze the start-up factors in start-up tourism companies and to analyze how these factors influence business performance. This study will be conducted for the further exploratory study with in-depth research with literature reviews, interviews and surveys. Research design, data, and Methodology - The activation of entrepreneurship is very important factor as for not only the development of entrepreneurship which is the characteristic of the innovative and risks-taking for the success of the enterprise, but also the sustainable growth and creation of performance of the entrepreneur. In other words, if it is the entrepreneurial spirit affects entrepreneurship, it is entrepreneurial orientation that continuously affects entrepreneurs. In order to achieve the above purposes, this study conducted literature research and empirical studies. Result & Conclusions - The sub-factors for independent entrepreneurial variables' orientation are classified as creativity, technological, enterprising, and innovation, and subordinate variables were set of management performance. The sub-factors of the control variable government support policy are classified as financial support, consulting support, and marketing support. For the purpose of empirical analysis, this paper collects data on companies selected for tourism venture business competition and CEOs of SMEs tourism for less than 7 years.

주민주도형 아파트 커뮤니티 사업의 활성화 방안 - 서울시 아파트 커뮤니티 활성화 공모사업을 중심으로 - (A Study on a Revitalization Plan for Community Projects of Inhabitants Initiative - Focus on a Community Project in Seoul -)

  • This study aims to understand the current state of a community project in Seoul and to determine a revitalization plan for community projects of inhabitants initiative. Regarding the research methods, 10 apartments that participated in this activation project in Seoul were selected, 31 residents who participated in community activities were surveyed, and 20 community planners in Seoul were surveyed. The results indicate that community leaders are the most important factor in community programs. community leaders must be able to promote participation and a spirit of service; they must also be capable of managing and implementing programs. To ensure that local community resources are utilized and integrated, it was shown that consultation and human resources are of the highest necessity. Moreover, regarding community education, it was shown that for providing general opportunities and means by which community activities may be implemented, program information and space applications are crucial. Furthermore, financial support and support for public relations activities from the government are necessary. To activate apartment communities, first, community education programs for residents must be provided. Second, a system that facilitates access to and sharing of resources from areas outside the community must be established. Third, financial support should be consistent to support community activities. Finally, the promotion of community vitalization at the government level is necessary.

Empirical Study on Inter-Firm Diffusion and Firms' Performance for Win-Win Growth Culture in Supply Chain

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among factors that expand the win-win growth between domestic finished goods-making manufacturers and subcontractors. One-hundred twenty six firms participated for this study and were used for the data analysis. As a result of analysis, first, it was found that the win-win growth between first-tier suppliers and second-tier suppliers has positive effects on the win-win growth made by second-tier suppliers helping the third-tier suppliers. Second, it was found that the win-win growth policies supported by the government for the positive relationship between first-tier suppliers and second-tier suppliers for the finished goods-making manufacturers have positive effects on the win-win growth between second-tier suppliers and third-tier suppliers. Third, the results also showed that the win-win growth between second-tier suppliers and third-tier suppliers has a positive influence both on the financial and on the non-financial performances of the second-tier suppliers. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to (1) construct infrastructure by sector through partnership between finished goods-making manufacturers and subcontractors, (2) draw in active support through the governmental win-win growth policies, (3) induce increasing productivities through information sharing, manpower support, technical support and educational support, and (4) strengthen and cultivate the culture of the small- and medium-sized companies.

양면게임 이론으로 분석한 한국GM 경영정상화 협상연구 (A Study on the Negotiation on Management Normalization of GM Korea through the Two-Level Games)

  • This study examines the normalization of Korean GM management between the Korean government and GM in terms of external negotiation game and internal negotiation game using Putnam's Two-Level Games. In addition, GM's Win-set change and negotiation strategy were analyzed. This analysis suggested implications for the optimal negotiation strategy for mutual cooperation between multinational corporations and local governments in the global business environment. First, the negotiation strategy for Korea's normalization of GM management in Korea can be shifted to both the concession theory and the opposition theory depending on the situation change and the government policy centered on the cautious theory. Second, GM will maximize its bargaining power through 'brink-end tactics' by utilizing the fact that the labor market is stabilized, which is the biggest weakness of the Korean government, while maintaining a typical Win-set reduction strategy. GM will be able to restructure at any time in terms of global management strategy, and if the financial support of the Korean government is provided, it will maintain the local factory but withdraw the local plant at the moment of stopping the support. In negotiations on the normalization of GM management in Korea, it is necessary to prepare a problem and countermeasures for various scenarios and to maintain a balance so that the policy does not deviate to any one side.

  • In this study, the goals and the short and long term plan to attain the goals were set up through the analysis of non-government environmental protection organizations actual conditions which were grasped through interview and questionnaire. The goals and the plan were modified and elaborated through 3 times environment experts conferences and a public hearing. The goals were as follows: a) Laying down the guidelines on the organizations. b) Establishing a view of environment. c) Paying a public attention to importance of environment. d) Activations the practice in environmental protection movement. e) Harmonizing the relations between the organizations themselves. government and the organizations, industries and the organizations. f) Establishing the government support system to the organizations in leagal. administrative and financial aspects. g) Enhancing the potentialities on research and development in environmental protection technology. In the short and long term plan, the specific activities to be driven up to the year 2000 were presented by stages.

  • 공공기관의 재정 집행의 문제점 및 평가지표 개선, 공공기관 통합관리 방안에 대한 연구를 통해 국가재정의 효율성을 증대시키는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 공공기관의 재정 운영상 5가지 문제점(평가지표 체계, 재정운영 통제기구, 민간 공공사업 구분관리, 공공재정 관련 법 제도, 정부 예산지원 관리)이 존재한다. 이러한 문제를 개선하기 위해서는 국회가 참여한 Control Tower(공공재정정책위원회)의 설치와 같은 다양한 의견을 제시한다.

국내 금융업 IT 아웃소싱 수행의사에 영향을 미치는 위험요인에 관한 연구 (A Descriptive Study of IT Outsourcing Risk Factors in the Korean Financial Industry)

  • The Outsourcing Industry has grown at a swift pace and evolved over time, and the Global IT Outsourcing market has shown signs of a steady growth. In the Korean financial industry, however, IT Outsourcing is not active as that of the advanced countries and there is lack of literature to understand the characteristics of IT Outsourcing in the financial industry. This paper, therefore, analyze the outcomes surveying 40 financial companies in Korea to investigate how IT Outsourcing risk factors affects IT Outsourcing intention. Based on our literature reviews based on number of key articles, journals, and the focus group interviews, IT Outsourcing risk factors are proposed into four different domains: Transaction, Client, Vendor and Environmental perspective. It found that two risk factors (Client and Environmental perspective) are closely related to the IT Outsourcing intention of the Korean financial industry. Finally, this paper concludes that concrete SLAs (Service Level Agreements) of the clients and support of government agencies are important to mitigate the IT Outsourcing risks.

  • Hospitals are experiencing an increasing amount of financial difficulty due to government control of hospital rates since national health insurance has been implemented. The decision support system (DSS) was developed to provide cost and revenue information for the services rendered by each department in an effort to reduce costs. This information may be used to identify the causes of financial loss if cost exceeds revenue and to conduct variance analysis or portfolio analysis to improve financial situation of hospitals. The DSS was developed using a micro-mainframe interface approach where the mainframe computer collects and summarizes daily cost and revenue data and the micro computer computes the cost for each department. The significances of this paper are to determine the cost allocation basis and methods which are suitable to Korean situation and to apply DSS technology to the cost analysis.

기업가적 기민성과 멘토링 및 멘토링 횟수와 기업성과 관계에서 기회인지의 매개효과 영향 (Mediating Effect of Opportunity Recognition Among Entrepreneurial Alertness, Mentoring, & Number of Mentoring on New Ventures' Performance)

  • 최근 정부는 제2 벤처 붐 확산을 위해 창업지원 프로그램을 확대하고 지원 규모도 늘리고 있다. 그러나 창업기업의 지속적인 성장을 위해서는 창업가가 갖추어야 할 기업가정신 교육이나 멘토링이 중요한 부분임에도 불구하고 정부 지원프로그램에 선정된 기업 중 일부에서는 사업화 자금만을 목적으로 하고 기업가정신 교육이나 멘토링 등의 프로그램 참여를 기피하는 현상이 나타나고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 정부 창업지원사업에 선정된 창업기업을 대상으로 제공되고 있는 멘토링의 내용과 횟수, 그리고 기업가적 기민성이 기회인지를 매개로 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향에 관해 연구함으로써 기업가적 기민성과 멘토링 프로그램의 중요성을 강조하고자 한다. 본 연구 실증분석에 따르면 첫째, 기업가적 기민성의 하위요인인 연합-연결력을 제외하고는 관찰-탐색력과 평가-판단력은 기회인지를 매개로 기업의 성과(재무, 비재무)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자금조달, 기술지원, 경영지원 멘토링은 기회인지를 매개로 기업의 재무 및 비재무성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 멘토링 횟수 또한 기회인지를 매개로 기업의 재무, 비재무성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점은 기업가적 기민성 하위요인 중 연합-연결력이 기회인지를 매개로 기업성과에 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 볼 때 프로그램 운영자들이 프로그램 설계와 운영시 창업자의 전략적 의사결정 기회를 침해하지 않는 방안에 대해 고려해야 한다는 것을 재점검해 볼 필요가 있다. 또한, 정부 창업지원 사업에서 창업기업에 제공되는 멘토링이 중요하다는 것이 실증적으로 규명된 만큼 각 창업기업의 성과목표에 맞는 맞춤형 멘토링이 필요하다는 것을 강조할 수 있다. 본 연구의 기여점은 기업가정신에 관한 연구에서 핵심 구성 요소로 다루어지고 있는 기업가적 기민성과 기회 인지, 그리고 실무적 측면에서 창업기업 성과에 중요한 요소로 인식되는 멘토링과 멘토링 횟수에 대한 요인들을 기업성과 영향 요인으로 이론적 실증적으로 규명하였다는 점이다. 아울러 멘토링을 지원하는 창업기업 지원 기관들에게 논리적 근거를 제시하였다는 것이다.

  • Sharing Economy is the modern main item with ICT Development. Of course sharing economic item is the old and long run mainstream, but by the ICT technological development sharing economy is the fostering and affluent factors in the world economic growth. Though, in Korea, till now sharing economy is minimal, that will growth sharply. We can track various business models of sharing economy. Sharing economy is to buy use right not ownership. With the sharing economic business model wee can make also financial sharing model. In finance model we can divide two kind models. First, we can trace small size lending model with p2p type. And second, we can make financial information transaction model. But till now sharing economic system is not activated, because of many reasons. To activate, first we have to set law and various standards, and also government actively support many sharing economy firms and institutions. To catch up developed countries in the field of sharing economy we have to make aggressive and flexible rules and standards.
