A Study on the Development of Global Leadership Program Model

  • The objective of this study was to explore a specific method and strategy for 'Global Leadership Program Model' in order to enhance global leadership, which will emphasize the aspect of open mind and attitude toward diversity, cross-culture, communication, and global manner. This research explored the concept and characteristics of global leadership and competency based education, and analyzed effectiveness of satisfaction and participation on global leadership programs implemented in K University and analyzed the learners' recognition on the experience. Also, the research integrated the values of global leadership with the strategies of competency-based education, and finally developed 'Global Leadership Program Model'. As a result, 'Global Leadership Program Model' might be able to help students use knowledge and skill in various contexts, and serve in the community with responsibility. It is expected that students could be facilitated to perform task and role communicating with others, and they might know exactly what learning outcome they are required to establish and what standard is used to evaluate the performance, so that this environment might motivate them and encourage them to follow the learning process more effectively.

청소년 글로벌 리더십 교육의 문제점과 방향 논의 -글로벌 리더십 역량 및 교육 경험 분석을 중심으로 - (A Study on Global Leadership Education by Analysis of Korean Youths' Educational Experiences and Their Global Leadership Competencies)

  • 본 연구는 청소년들의 글로벌 리더십 역량과 교육 경험 내용 분석을 통해 글로벌 리더십 교육의 방향을 모색하였다. 경기도 내 중학교 3학년 학생 200명을 대상으로 하였으며, 지구적 안목 형성과 문화적 리터러시 함양의 2 개 영역을 중심으로 설문하였다. 지구적 안목 형성 영역에서는 지구적 비전과 지구적 문제해결력을, 문화적 리터러시에서는 문화다양성 인식과 인간 관계 영역을 설정하여 역량과 교육 경험을 조사-분석하였다. 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 글로벌 리더십함양을 위한 교육 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 글로벌 활동가로서의 끔을 갖게 하는 교육, 둘째, 지구적 문제해결 능력 함양, 셋째, 다양한 문화 인식 교육, 넷째, 문화다양성 교육의 다양화, 다섯째, 언어 등 특정 능력 위주의 교육보다는 다양한 영역에서의 교육, 여섯째, 문화다양성 인식과 지구적 안목 형성을 중요하게 다루고 있는 지리 교육을 통한 글로벌 리더십 교육 강화를 제시하였다.

글로벌 공학리더를 양성하기 위한 리더십 역량 연구 (A Study on a Leadership Skill for Cultivating Global Engineering Leaders)

  • This study proposes content and instruction of leadership education based on the results of evaluation and analysis of leadership skill of present levels of students who registered for 'leadership development and training' course which is liberal arts elective course of the 'Accreditation Board of Engineering Education in Korea' and provides best practices to develop leadership skill and to attain academic achievement 2, 4, 6, 7 of 12 academic achievement required by KEC2005. To accomplish a purpose of the study, I divide leadership skill into technical skill, human skill and conceptual skill that suggested by Katz and then measure students' leadership skill. The contents of leadership education to develop and enforce three leadership skills are as follows. First, for developing technical skill, there is a need for systematic education of basic working experience relevant to a major field of study. Second, for developing human skill, there is a need for education of leadership, motivation, conflict management, communication, group dynamics and presentation etc. Third, for developing conceptual skill, there is a need for education of founding vision, business strategy and creative idea etc.

간호대학생의 세계시민의식, 셀프리더십과 국제보건역량과의 융복합적 관계 (Convergence Relationship between Global Citizenship, Self leadership and Global Health Competencies in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 세계시민의식, 셀프리더십과 국제보건역량과의 관계를 파악하고 국제보건역량 증진을 위한 교육프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 활용하기 위함이다. 연구대상자는 B광역시 소재 2개 대학교와 K시 소재 1개 대학교에 재학 중인 간호대학생 207명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS PC 18.0을 이용하여 t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 종교, 국제보건역량관련 교육유무, 국제보건 관련 대중매체 접촉경험에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 국제보건역량은 셀프리더십(r=.372, p<.01), 세계시민의식(r=.364, p<.01)과 중간정도의 상관계를 보였고 세계시민의식은 셀프리더십(r=.463, p<.01)과 강한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 간호대학생을 위한 국제보건역량 증진 프로그램 개발 시 세계시민의식과 셀프리더십을 고려하여 개발할 필요가 있으며 그 효과를 검증하는 연구가 필요하다.

Frontier Leadership Program for Engineering Students in Gunma University

  • In this paper, the purpose and overview of the "Frontier Leadership Program for Engineering Students through Joint Participation of Higher Education and the Industrial Sector" (FLC: Frontier Leadership Course) in Gunma University is reported together with our achievements during the last three years. The purpose of this special educational program is to promote and educate selected students who are highly motivated to learn science & mathematics and to become an active leader in industrial sectors or research institutes. The activity can be divided into two categories: "Student-Proposed Stream" and "Advanced Research Stream". These activities were found to be useful to cultivate student's leadership and global communication ability. Furthermore, most of the FLC students cultivated the excellent academic performance and five students among them will be allowed to skip their fourth undergraduate year and enter directly into our graduate school.

청소년을 위한 '봉사와 리더십: 지혜로운 리더' 프로그램 개발 및 실시 II : S고등학교를 대상으로 (Program Development and Implementation for adolescence II 'Volunteer Work and Leadership: Wisdom Leader' : Case study of S High School)

  • The disposition towards volunteer work and leadership traits are the basic qualities that should be possessed by teenagers who are to become next generation leaders. The 'Volunteer Work and Leadership' program was developed to attain this goal and all S high school students were subjected to this program. This program was comprised of four modules, and this dissertation is focused on the second module: 'Wisdom Leader'. This program, which was conducted for six hours on a daily basis, was carried out two times per day during the first semesters of 2006 and 2007 on freshmen students. The program was comprised of three conceptual frameworks-Education of the heart that improves your emotion which includes 'cultural performance', 'volunteer work leadership group performance' and 'spot strategy for stress management'. Education of the hand pursues knowledge, which includes 'special lecture of leadership' and 'leader research through movies', and Education of hand which students directly participate in workshops were also used. After studying the results of the program, it was found that the satisfaction level of the education was higher during the second session than the first session. Therefore the objective of this program to enhance the leadership qualities of students was attained Also, this dissertation was able to reaffirm the relationship between volunteer work and leadership. I hope that the leadership content can be used systematically for enhancing the educational effect of volunteer work.

영남대학교 리더십 학습성과 교육 CQI 방안에 대한 연구 (A Case Study on the Continuous Quality Improvement for Leadership Outcomes Education in Yeungnam University)

  • 본 연구는 공학교육인증제 운영과정에서 강조되고 있는 학습성과 중 리더십 교육과 관련한 CQI 방안을 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 리더십 교육과 관련된 영남대학교의 사례를 연구하였다. 본 연구를 위해 리더십 교육과 관련된 영남대학교의 교과 및 교과 외 교육과정 분석, 리더십 교육 CQI 방안 마련을 위한 전문가 및 유관 기관 실무자 포커스그룹 면담이 실시되었다. 또한 리더십 캠프 참가자를 대상으로 리더십 역량진단, 리더십 교육 수요 조사, 캠프 만족도 조사를 실시하였다. 리더십 캠프진행을 주관한 데일 카네기 연구소 대구지부의 전문 강사들과 포커스그룹 면담을 실시하고 캠프 기간 동안 비참여관찰법을 통한 내용분석과 질적 면접이 병행되었다. 본 연구 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학수준의 수학능력 향상방안과 심리적 차원의 역량강화 방안이 동시에 고려되어야 한다. 특히 지방대학이라는 특성을 고려할 때 외국어 능력 향상과 자신감 및 비전 수립을 위한 교육에 역점을 둘 필요가 있다. 둘째, 일회성의 단기 리더십 세미나 및 팀 티칭 형태의 교육을 보완하기 위해서 설계교과목 이수체계도를 활용한 중장기 교육계획 수립 및 리더십 캠프 참가 경험이 있는 학생과 차기 캠프 참가자들간의 멘토-멘티제 운영이 고려될 수 있다. 셋째, 리더십 교육에 역점을 두는 전공, 학과 및 교내외 유관기관 관계자들로 구성된 리더십 교육 자문위원회를 구성함으로써 체계적이고 효과적인 리더십 교육을 실현할 수 있을 것이다.

A Program for University Student's IT Leadership Renovation

  • In this paper, we propose a new program for university student's IT leadership renovation. Automation and Artificial Intelligence(AI) are changing the nature of work. According to MGI report, they will change the skills needed in the workforce. Leadership is one of the skills needed more of in the future at workplace including IT industry. Leadership could be defined as having 5 level leadership. According to the 5 level leadership, a program was formulated to renovate university student's self-leadership, teamwork, team leadership and finally global leadership. We named the program as Stepping-Stone Platform for Student's IT Leadership Renovation(SSP-SLR). Each level of four stepping stones consists of one semester. Student can raise their leadership skills by the program step by step. Various instruction learning methodologies are adopted to the program, including Flipped learning which has been proved effective in many ways in the field of education recently.

대학생의 셀프리더십이 취업전략에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of University Student's Self-Leadership on the Employment Strategies)

  • Many students who attend university are worried about their future employment and academic achievement. Self-leadership is the ability to deal wisely with employment matters and to recognize the employment strategies of students who display self-leadership qualities. For this purpose, 320 questionnaires were distributed to students attending universities in Seoul. The 304 collected questionnaires were used as data for the final analysis. First, the university students' average self-leadership rate was 3.73, and their average employment rate was 3.24. In terms of self-leadership by subordinate domains, the most common strategy was to introduce "natural compensation activities", and the least common strategy was to focus on "inner compensation". For the employment strategy, "academic credit" was the best managed, and "active behavior" was the least well managed. Second, in terms of the differences in self-leadership due to social demographic variables, the self-leadership levels showed significant differences, according to their credits in general. Furthermore, they showed significant differences depending on gender and the leadership experience among the subordinate variables. Moreover, the university students' employment strategies showed significant differences according to gender, leadership experience and leadership education. Third, in terms of the difference between self-leadership and employment strategies due to psychological variables, self-efficacy and university-life satisfaction levels made significant differences in terms of self-leadership. Fourth, the group with high self-leadership levels also had highly developed employment strategies, compared to the group with low self-leadership levels. Fifth, after analyzing the social demographic variables, the psychological variables and the influence of self-leadership, it appears that the explanation level increased at each step. This study demonstrates that experiencing many opportunities that promote self-leadership during university causes students to worry about their future careers and prohibits them from developing into independent, responsible adults who can accomplish their goals.

가정 내 변혁적 리더십 수준과 직업만족도 - 서울시 직장기혼남녀를 대상으로 - (The Level of Transformational Leadership in Family and the Job Satisfaction: - Focusing on the Workers in Seoul -)

  • The main purpose of the current research was to induce the importance of manners through the relationship between the level of transformational leadership in the family and the degree of job satisfaction in workers. It also examined positive variants that can enhance the degree of job satisfaction. The data from 250 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The main results of the present study are as follows: First, the level of transformational leadership in the family tended to be relatively low, although it was good at the intellectual stimulus leadership among the sub-dimension of the "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire." Moreover, communication, status, and education level turned out to be most influential background variables. Secondly, the score for job satisfaction that is recognized by the workers appeared to be less than average. It seemed that relative comparison in the level of life, communication and education level were the most influential variables. Indeed, the result of stepwise regression analysis showed that transformational leadership made a comparatively high contribution to job satisfaction. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that a worker's leadership development is a main source of maintaining job satisfaction.
