Antifungal Activity of Nor-securinine Against Some Phytopathogenic Fungi

  • Crude extracts and active principles from medicinal plants have shown potential role in controlling plant diseases in glasshouses as well as in fields as one of the safest and ecofriendly methods. The effect of nor-securinine (an alkaloid) isolated from Phyllanthus amarus has been seen against spore germination of some fungi (Alternaria brassicae, A. solani, Curvularia pennisetti, Curvularia sp., Erysiphe pisi, Helminthosporium frumentacei) as well as pea powdery mildew (Erysiphe pisi) under glasshouse conditions. The sensitivity of fungi to nor-securinine varied considerably. Nor-securinine was effective against most of the fungi. H. frumentacei was more sensitive even at the lowest concentration ($1,000\;{\mu}g/ml$). Likewise conidia of E. pisi were also inhibited in partially or completely appressorium formation. Pre-inoculation treatment showed greater efficacy than post-inoculation in inhibiting powdery mildew development on pea plants in a glasshouse. Maximum inhibition occurred at $2000\;{\mu}g/ml$.

유리온실과 플라스틱 온실의 환경조절시스템 비교분석 (Comparative analysis on environment control systems for glasshouses and plastic houses)

  • In order to set up the basic environmental control systems which the new concept greenhouses have to equip, greenhouse characteristics, environmental management and control systems in domestic glasshouses and plastic houses were investigated and analyzed comparatively. Survey results on the width, length, eaves height, and the number of spans etc. showed that glasshouses were bigger than plastic houses significantly. New concept greenhouses claim to be plastic houses, but it will be reasonable to follow the specifications of the glasshouse. Specifications to be applied to new concept greenhouses were proposed as follows; hot water heating systems, aluminum screens as the thermal curtain, evaporative cooling systems, roof vents on the ridge, circulation fans, $CO_2$ enrichment, hydroponic systems, and automatic irrigation control systems. Environmental measurement systems for the indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, light, wind speed and indoor $CO_2$ concentration have to be fully equipped. The automatic control system has to be as a complex environmental control system, not a single item control system. Also, for stable dissemination, domestically producing complete greenhouse control system should be made as soon as possible.

건축 표절 논의를 위한 미학의 차용 적용에 관한 연구 (The Applicability of Aesthetics of Appropriation for the Discussion on Architectural Plagiarism)

  • It is the juristocracy in architecture to judge the architectural plagiarism by copyright law. The architectural plagiarism should judge by architectural criticism. From the point of the criticism to discuss architectural plagiarism, the study on artistic imitation should be preceding. The current discussion on architectural plagiarism doesn't consider artistic imitation. Therefore, the result of the discussion only focused on whether the building is plagiarizing or not. From the point of architectural criticism, there should be three considerations, which are creation, imitation, and plagiarism. In the study of Aesthetics, it theorized artistic imitation as the appropriation. With the understanding of the appropriation, contemporary art is developing the discourse on plagiarism beyond the boundary of plagiarism fundamentalism. The purpose of this study is to apply the appropriation to the discussion of architectural plagiarism. The study introduces the discourse on architectural plagiarism rather than judging it with copyright law. There so the study categorized the aesthetics standard of appropriation art, then apply it to the architecture cases. The architecture cases subjects of analysis are the glasshouse by Philip Johnson, National Museum of Australia by Howard Raggatt, and the Meiquan 22nd Century in China. At the point of the appropriation theory, the glasshouse is the only architectural appropriation, and others need to apply the evaluation criteria of plagiarism.

온도, 입실시기 및 GA3 처리가 수국의 생육 및 개화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Temperature, Glasshouse Forcing Date and GA3 on the Growth and Flowering of Hydrangea macrophylla Ser.)

  • 수국의 분화 생산을 위하여 온도, 입실시기 및 $GA_3$ 처리가 수국의 생장 및 개화에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 실험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 온도처리별 초장은 $20^{\circ}C$의 6.7 cm에 비해 $5^{\circ}C$에서 38cm로 현저히 길어졌으며 경장도 같은 경향이었다. 엽장 및 엽폭은 온도처리가 낮을수록 넓어졌으며, 줄기직경은 굵어지는 경향이었다. 개화시는 $5^{\circ}C$에 비해 $15^{\circ}C$$20^{\circ}C$에서 현저히 단축시킬 수 있었으며, 개화소요일수는 $5^{\circ}C$의 161일에 비해 $15^{\circ}C$에서 88일 소요되었다. 개화율은 온도 처리별 75.8~90.7% 정도이었다. 입실시기별 초장은 입실시기가 늦어질수록 길어졌으며, 엽장 및 엽폭도 같은 경향이었다. $GA_3$ 처리시 초장은 대조구에 비해 $GA_3$ 처리 농도가 높을수록 증가하였고, 엽장 및 엽폭도 같은 경향이었다. 개화시는 12월 30일 입실시 대조구 3월 17일에 비해 $GA_3$ $50mgL^{-1}$ 처리시 7일 조기개화되었고, 개화소요일수는 입실시기가 늦을수록 크게 단축되었다. 화방폭은 12월 30일 입실시 대조구에 비해 $GA_3$ 처리시 증가되었고, 개화율은 1월 15일 $GA_3$ $50mgL^{-1}$ 처리 97.9%에 비해 11월 15일 대조구에서 62.3%로 현저하게 감소하였다.

Quality Change in Plug Seedlings of Three Indigenous Medicinal Plants after Short-term Cold Storage

  • To test the quality change of seedlings of three domestic medicinal plants raised in plug trays, a short term storage experiment was conducted. Seedlings were kept in growth chambers for two weeks at 4 or $8^{\circ}C$ temperature combined with 0 or $5{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD. Quality of glasshouse-raised seedlings was assessed after two weeks of cold storage in the growth chamber and one week of acclimation in the greenhouse. After two weeks of storage in the growth chamber of Perilla frutescens var. acuta Kudo, plant height was the greatest in the treatment $8^{\circ}C$ combined with $0{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD. Internode length of P. frutescens var. acuta Kudo was the greatest in the treatment of $4^{\circ}C$ combined with $0{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD. After one week of acclimatization in a glasshouse, the growth and development, such as plant height, internode length and leaf size, were greater in the $8^{\circ}C$ combined with $5{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD than in the other treatments. After two weeks of storage in the growth chamber of Sophora tonkinensis, plant height increased more in the treatment of $4^{\circ}C$ than $8^{\circ}C$. After one week of acclimatization in a glasshouse, number of leaves did not change in the treatment of $4^{\circ}C$ combined with $0{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD, but it increased in the other treatments. Leaf width increased more under the dark than light condition. Leaf length did not observably change in any treatments. After two weeks of storage in the growth chamber, plant height of Angelica gigas Nakai was the greatest in the treatment of $8^{\circ}C$. Number of leaves was the greatest in the treatment of $8^{\circ}C$. Leaf growth was greater under dark than light condition. These results suggested that optimal storage environment was $8^{\circ}C$ combined with $5{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD for P. frutescens var. acuta Kudo, and $4^{\circ}C$ combined with $0{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD for S. tonkinensis and A. gigas Nakai. Hence, proper combination of temperature and PPFD were necessary for better storage, and acclimatization and growth, thereafter, of the plug seedlings of theses plant species.

아치형 재배 시설장미에서 점박이응애의 이항표본조사법 개발 (Binomial Sampling Plan for Estimating Tetranuchus urticae(Acari: Tetranychidae)Populations in Glasshouse Rose Grown by Arching Method)

  • 충남부여에 위치한 임업화훼단지내의 유리온실에서 아치형재배(Arching method)장미에 피해를 주는 점박이응애(Tetranychus urticae Koch)의밀도를 엽당 응애수로 조사하였다. 이항표본 조사법은 엽당 점박이응애의 평균밀도(m)와 점박이응애가 T 개체보다 많이 존재하는 엽의 비율(${P}_{T}$)과의 관계를 기본으로 하며, T는 경험적 이항분포모형(ln(m)=$\alpha$+$\beta$1n(-1n(1-${P}_{T}$)))에서의 tally threshold 로서, 본 실험에서는 1, 3, 5, 7, 9를 사용하였다. 일반적으로 표본단위 수의증가는 T와 상관없이 이항분포 모형의 정확도에 영향을 거의 주지 않게 된다. 본 실험에서는 상이한 T에 따라 이항분포모형의 정확도가 차이가 났으며 T가 증가할수록 정확도가 높아졌다. 본 실험결과 점박이응애의 밀도추정을 위한 이항분포모형의 정확도를 비교한 결과, T=7인 경우가 최적의 tally threshold인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이항분포조사법의 검정을 위하여, 동일한 포장의 독립적인 표본을 추출, 조사하였다. 본 실험결과 이항표본조사법을 이용한 상업적 유리온실의 아치형재배 장미해충인 점박이응애 평균밀도 추정에는 T=7인 경우가 가장 적절한 것으로 사료된다.

  • 온실내에서 직달 및 산란일사의 투과율은 온실이 설치된 지역의 위도, 온실의 동방위 및 형상, 피복재의 광학적 특성, 년중일수, 기상 조건, 지붕면의 경사각 뿐만 아니라 온실의 길이, 구조물의 크기 등에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 현재 국내의 기상 조건에 적합한 표준형 유리온실의 설계 기준이 부분적으로 제시되고 있으나, 온실내의 광환경과 관련된 설계 기준은 제시되지 않고 있는 실정이다. (중략)

  • This study was conducted for analyzing the influence of outside temperature upon shading effect of greenhouses by simulation. The simulation program was tested by comparing predicted values to measured values and applied the Korean standard wide span glasshouse. The shading effect according to the variation of outside temperature was different by shading method and rate. The increasing rate of inside temperature with different shading rate was nearly propotional to the increasing value of outside temperature. The outside shading effect was a little better than inside shading.

  • The estimation of pest density is a prime concern of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) because the success of artificial intervention such as spraying pestcides or natural enemies depends on pest density. Also, the spatial pattern of pest population within plants or plots has been studies in various ways. In this study, we applied generalized linear mixed model to Tetranychus urticae Koch , two-spotted spider mite count in glasshouse grown roses. For this analysis, the subject-specific as well as pupulation-averaged approaches are used.
