A study on the Base of Design of GF Network for Satellite DMB (위성 DMB GF Network의 설계 기초에 관한 연구)

  • Satellite DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) uses the Cap Filler(GF) that provides a service to the wave shade area of the satellite signal that is a non-line of sight area. The GF is the repeater and the Satellite DMB Systems certainly must construct the GF Network toguarantee the movement reception of the terminal. As the coverage of the GF is formed the Cell or Sector, when the multiple GF is established to be contiguous, the problem of the interference will be able to occur. This paper describes the Satellite DMB system and the GF, and it investigate the design fundamentals plan of the GF Network that it will be able to reduce this problem. As a result, in case of the distance that GF and terminal unit is above 4.6Km, service is not provided because of quality degradation according to mutual interference.

  • In mobility industries, the use of thermoplastic composites increased dynamically. In this study, the mechanical and impregnation properties of continuous glass fiber (GF)/polypropylene (PP) composite were evaluated with different GF contents. The GF/PP commingled fiber was manufactured with different GF contents and continuous GF/PP composite was manufactured using continuous compression molding process. Tensile, flexural, and impact test of specimens were evaluated with different GF contents. The fracture behavior of specimens was proved using field emission-scanning electron microscope images of fracture area and impregnation property was evaluated using dynamic mechanical analyzer and interlaminar shear strength. Finally, the GF/PP composite was the optimized mechanical and impregnation properties using 50 wt.% GF/PP commingled fiber.

  • ILSAC GF 3/API SL specification will be adopted in July 2001. The background and characteristics of GF3 specification is reviewed. GF3 specification consists of five new engine tests, two new bench tests and new limits on three bench tests currently used to define ILSAC GF-2. GF 3 engine oil shows good performance compared to GF2 engine oil in fuel efficiency, protecting ability the emission catalyst and high temperature oxidation stability.

Field Applicability Evaluation of Control Low Strength Materials as Utilizing Various Industrial by-Products (공동충전재로써 각종 산업부산물을 활용한 CLSM의 현장적용 가능성 평가)

  • In this research, a physical property test of CLSM, which can safely and effectively utilize a great number of industrial byproducts and waste types, was used to review the applicability of GBFS, FNS, and FGB, as well as their field applicabilities as cavity fillers, and the following conclusions have been reached. first, For CLSM utilizing GBFS, FNS, and FGB, it was revealed that a proper mixing of over 30% of GBFS and FNS or within 5% of FGB is effective in improving the fluidity for field application. second, It was revealed that GF15B5 can suppress bleeding at a similar level as the base, whereas GF30B5 can do so at about 0.17% compared to the base. It was also verified that GF15, GF30, and GF45 can suppress bleeding at about 0.2%, 0.26%, and 0.3%, respectively, compared to the base. third, Both GF15B5 and GF30B5 exceeded 0.4MPa in 7day strength tests to satisfy the field application and, also, the rates of increase of their initial strengths were found to be 323% and 233% higher than the base, respectively. Meanwhile, the 7day strength test of GF, which utilizes GBFS and FNS, also reached over 0.2MPa for field application, and it was revealed that GF15, GF30, and GF45 show 160%, 237%, and 185% higher strength increase rates, respectively, compared to the base.

  • We have conducted to characterize the physico-chemical change and pharmacological transformation of traditional herbal medicines by means of processing. Processed Gardeniae Fructus was prepared by heating of fruit of Gardenia jasminoides(GF) for $30{\sim}50\;minute$ in the roster designed for herb processing. The contents of drying loss, water extract, diluted ethanol extract, ether extract and geniposide in non-processed GF and processed GF were examined. The contents of drying loss, water extract and geniposide in processed GF showed a decrease as compared with those of non-processed GF, however the contents of dilute ethanol and ether extract showed a increase as compared with those of non-processed GF. The rate of decrease/increase of those index were in proportion to heating time. And, biological activities of methanol extract of non-processed GF and processed GF were investigated. DPPH scavenging effects and inhibitory effect of xanthine oxidate and hemolysis of processed GF exhibited more effective than those of non-processed GF in vitro. Accelerating effect of large intestinal transport and purgative action of non- processed GF were discriminated by processing of GF. Methanol extracts of non-pro- cessed GF and processed GF showed the protective effects against the hepatotoxicity induced by ${\alpha}-naphthylisothiocyanate$ in rats. These results suggested that the transformation of biological activities of GF by means of processing may be due to the physico-chemical change of the constituents in GF by heating.

LOCAL PERMUTATION POLYNOMIALS OVER FINITE FIELDS

  • Let $q = p^r$, where p is a prime. A polynomial $f(x) \in GF(q)[x]$ is called a permutation polynomial (PP) over GF(q) if the numbers f(a) where $a \in GF(Q)$ are a permutation of the a's. In other words, the equation f(x) = a has a unique solution in GF(q) for each $a \in GF(q)$. More generally, $f(x_1, \cdots, x_n)$ is a PP in n variables if $f(x_1,\cdots,x_n) = \alpha$ has exactly $q^{n-1}$ solutions in $GF(q)^n$ for each $\alpha \in GF(q)$. Mullen ([3], [4], [5]) has studied the concepts of local permutation polynomials (LPP's) over finite fields. A polynomial $f(x_i, x_2, \cdots, x_n) \in GF(q)[x_i, \codts,x_n]$ is called a LPP if for each i = 1,\cdots, n, f(a_i,\cdots,x_n]$ is a PP in $x_i$ for all $a_j \in GF(q), j \neq 1$.Mullen ([3],[4]) found a set of necessary and three variables over GF(q) in order that f be a LPP. As examples, there are 12 LPP's over GF(3) in two indeterminates ; $f(x_1, x_2) = a_{10}x_1 + a_{10}x_2 + a_{00}$ where $a_{10} = 1$ or 2, $a_{01} = 1$ or x, $a_{00} = 0,1$, or 2. There are 24 LPP's over GF(3) of three indeterminates ; $F(x_1, x_2, x_3) = ax_1 + bx_2 +cx_3 +d$ where a,b and c = 1 or 2, d = 0,1, or 2.

  • Though GF(2) CA can only handle data with bit units GF(2p) CA can handle data with units more than bit units. In this paper we analyze the state-transition of nongroup cellular automata(CA) with a single attractor over GF(2p). And we propose the constructing method the state-transition diagram of a linear SACA over GF(2p) by using the concept of basic path. Also we propose the state-transition diagram of the nonlinear complemented SACA by using the state-transition diagram of a linear SACA.

Design of $GF(3^m)$ Current-mode CMOS Multiplier ($GF(3^m)$상의 전류모드 CMOS 승산기 설계)

  • In this paper, we discuss on the design of a current mode CMOS multiplier circuit over $GF(3^m)$. Using the standard basis, we show the variation of vector representation of multiplicand by multiplying primitive element α, which completes the multiplicative process. For the $GF(3^m)$ multiplicative circuit design, we design GF(3) adder and multiplier circuit using current mode CMOS technology and get the simulation results. Using the basic gates - GF(3) adder and multiplier, we build the $GF(3^m)$ multiplier circuit and show the examples for the case m=3. We also propose the assembly of the operation blocks for a complete $GF(3^m)$ multiplier. Therefore, the proposed circuit is easily extensible to other p and m values over $GF(p^m)$ and has advantages for VLSI implementation. We verify the validity of the proposed circuit by functional simulations and the results are provided.

  • In this paper, we show how to construct an optimal normal basis over finite field of high degree and compare two methods for fast operations in some finite field $GF(2^n)$. The first method is to use an optimal normal basis of $GF(2^n)$ over $GF(2)$. In case of n = st where s and t are relatively primes, the second method which regards the finite field $GF(2^n)$ as an extension field of $GF(2^s)$ and $GF(2^t)$ is to use an optimal normal basis of $GF(2^t)$ over $GF(2)$. In section 4, we tabulate implementation result of two methods.

Glucosamine Hydrochloride and N-Acetylglucosamine Influence the Response of Bovine Chondrocytes to TGF-β3 and IGF in Monolayer and Three-Dimensional Tissue Culture

  • BACKGROUND: Glucosamine hydrochloride (GlcN HCl) has been shown to inhibit cell growth and matrix synthesis, but not with N-acetyl-glucosamine (GlcNAc) supplementation. This effect might be related to an inhibition of critical growth factors (GF), or to a different metabolization of the two glucosamine derivatives. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the synergy between GlcN HCl, GlcNAc, and GF on proliferation and cartilage matrix synthesis. METHOD: Bovine chondrocytes were cultivated in monolayers for 48 h and in three-dimensional (3D) chitosan scaffolds for 30 days in perfusion bioreactors. Serum-free (SF) medium was supplemented with either growth factors (GF) $TGF-{\beta}$ ($5ng\;mL^{-1}$) and IGF-I ($10ng\;mL^{-1}$), GlcN HCl or GlcNAc at 1mM each or both. Six groups were compared according to medium supplementation: (a) SF control; (b) SF + GlcN HCl; (c) SF + GlcNAc; (d) SF + GF; (e) SF + GF + GlcN HCl; and (f) SF + GF + GlcNAc. Cell proliferation, proteoglycan, collagen I (COL1), and collagen II (COL2) synthesis were evaluated. RESULTS: The two glucosamines showed opposite effects in monolayer culture: GlcN HCl significantly reduced proliferation and GlcNAc significantly augmented cellular metabolism. In the 30 days 3D culture, the GlcN HCl added to GF stimulated cell proliferation more than when compared to GF only, but the proteoglycan synthesis was smaller than GF. However, GlcNAc added to GF improved the cell proliferation and proteoglycan synthesis more than when compared to GF and GF/GlcN HCl. The synthesis of COL1 and COL2 was observed in all groups containing GF. CONCLUSION: GlcN HCl and GlcNAc increased cell growth and stimulated COL2 synthesis in long-time 3D culture. However, only GlcNAc added to GF improved proteoglycan synthesis.
