It is difficult to analyse geomorphic landscape changes effectively by a field survey. A satellite image interpretation may play an important role to overcome such a problem. The purpose of this study is to assess the accuracy of different method to identify geomorphic landscape change by using satellite imagery. The study area is the Yongjong coastal wetland in which a huge man-made environmental change occured to build a new international airport in the past decade. These changes may be summarized that a coastal landscape has been changed to a terrestrial landscape, and also a natural landscape to a man-made landscape. In order to detect these changes, we applied three different satellite interpreting methods, including a binary change mask using band difference. a binary change mask using normalized band difference. and a binary change mask using NDVI. We concluded that a binary change mask using NDVI is the best method among three different methods analysing the coastal geomorphic-landscape changes.
Advances in computer technology enabled us to simulate the integrated effects of various geomorphic processes on landscape evolution. This review introduces a theoretical framework for 2-dimensional numerical landscape evolution models (NLEMs) which have recently been used for various research purposes. In particular much attention is paid to the approaches deployed to model major geomorphic processes on a geological time scale in previous research. NLEMs can simulate landscape evolution by numerically solving the partial differential equation which represents the relationship among the geomorphic system components (GSCs). Simple process specifications of the relationships among GSCs on a long-term time scale in terms of quantification and attempts to combine processes represent the initial research on NLEMs. Later researchers have taken these simple NLEMs and elaborated on them. Introducing the theories of NLEMs in this review is expected to help researchers trying to utilize or develop NLEMs.

Human responses, such as construction of levees, are a spatial representation of the place vulnerability which is induced by a geomorphic hazard like flooding. Human responses include all forms of human activities to reduce the place vulnerability and they seem to be related with reducing vulnerability rather than reducing geomorphic hazards. Diverse human responses to the perceived environment bring about changes in the place vulnerability. People respond spatially to their vulnerability of the place in diverse ways from their experience and perceived risk. Human responses have quantitative possibilities in predicting and modeling the place vulnerability. Building the model of a dynamic place vulnerability to the diverse geomorphic hazards requires basic maps of geomorphic processes and human responses in the region.

This paper aims to study its preservation and practical application on the basis of analysis on geomorphic landscape and trail of Hwayang-Gugok(華陽九曲). The main results are as follows. 1) There are various and beautiful granitic landforms in Hwayang-Gugok. 2) The scene of Hwayang-Gugok are geomorphic resources worthy of the world cultural heritage in a point of view of relations between geomorphic landscapes and Neo-Confucianism. 3) The best effective application of Hwayang-Gugok may be geotourism. The explanatory plates to describe easily Hwayang-Gugok and training of many skilled guides are also necessary for improving the efficiency of geotourism. 4) Not only landscape restoration but also preservation of geomorphic landscapes in Hwayang-Gugok are required for sustainable geotourism, and improvements based on the results to be analysed in this paper are investigated.

The purpose of this study is to find out the changes in geomorphic characteristics of a small watershed when a golf course is constructed. The research site is a set of seven small watersheds including an 18-hole golf course that were randomly selected. The size, shape, and drainage network of watersheds were measured by using planimeter, watershed eccentricity, and stream order, respectively. In addition, a 25m$\times$25m mesh was used on topographic maps and grading plans in order to obtain the slope, elevation, and aspect of the watersheds. The major results of this research, while investigating of the changes in geomorphic characteristics of watersheds when a golf course is constructed, are as follows: 1. The size of watersheds is increased in accordance to the difference in elevation between the golf course site and the small watershed. 2. The watershed eccentricities are in general similar except for a few low-valued cases. 3. The changes in the average altitude and the gradient are more drastic with their bigger original values. 4. The aspects are changed more with decreasing elevation. 5. The stream order decreases in the case of a low watershed eccentricity. 6. The surface modification has a closer relationship to the slope rather than the size of effective use area. 7. With a steeper gradient and an excessively low gradient, the height of cutting/filling is increased.

The aim of this study is to reevaluate the elements of Gokungugok in geomorphic perspective to discover the geosite of DMZ Geopark in Gangwon-do. The perception for the landscapes contained in Gokungi and Gokungukok-ga is similar to today's geomorphic elements. The most frequent geomorphic landscape shown in Gokungukok is ripple-pool system, and follow after falls and bedrock stream bed. The potholes along the granite bedrock of 3rd and 4th sites accentuate the beauty of Gokungugok. Between 1st and 3rd sites are very long section, and there are many beautiful sceneries, but between 7th and 9th sites is very short section and there are no distinct geomorphic landscapes. After a historical review for the position of 'Seolbeokwa', 'Mangdangi' and 'Beokuiman' called by Dasan Jeong Yak Yong, there is necessary to establish the name and the position of New Gokungugok. Because Gokungugok consists of the beautiful geomorphic landscapes and is well preserved, it can be suggested that it is a suitable geosite.

Silgyeong sansuhwa (Realistic landscape paintings) are drawn in Korea since 17th century. It has characteristics of more realistic description of landscape than painting from previous periods. Kim Hong Do's 'Haedong Myeongsan docheop (The album of paintings of famous mountains in Korea)' has been recognized as fine example of realistic description of geomorphic landscapes. Kim Hong Do and Kim Eung hwan did official travel to Gwandong and Geumgangsan area by order of King Jeongjo in 1788. As a result of that travel they draw about 100 piece of landscape painting. About 60 pieces of the paintings are still remaining. These are open to public by Korea National Museum in 1996. 14 pieces of painting, Daegwanryeong and Gangneung, Gyeongpo-dae, Hohae-jeong, Gahak-jeong, Cheonggan-jeong, Mun-am, Mangyang-jeong, Wolsong-jeong, Neungpa-dae, Naksan-sa, Mureung-gye, Gyejo-gul, and Hyeonjong-am, are analysed in this study. Coastal depositional landforms, like lagoon, sand beach and spit or barriers, erosional forms, like sea stack, sea cliff and sea cave, depicted in the paintings are analysed. In addition, structural landforms, colluvial landform and bedrock incision form by the running water in mountain area were analysed and weathered forms of granite and excursion to karst cave also discussed. It is found that sea arch in the printing destroyed since 1788, though exact position and reason is still unknown. There are strong need for discovery and identification of geomorphic landscape resources, for applied geomorphological studies and for prepare educational materials for non-face-to-face education. It also be emphasized that it can be used of the course work materials for future education using augmented reality and virtual reality technology.

There is limitation to represent forms and internal process of topography if using simple symbols for geomorphic landscape in the cartography. One of the alternative method to find a solution to these problems is to use association symbol to imagine real landscapes through map reading. This study suggested making method of association symbols to describe geomorphic landscapes effectively. Landforms are not static objects but dynamic pedogenesis and morphogenesis one. It should be consider form, process, and material to make landform mapping, and also, make landform symbols by considering scalable changeability for point-polygon, line-polygon, point-line by scale. As a results, this study expected to help applications for geomorphology as well as environments, ecology, archaeology, and civil engineering etc.

The objective of this study was to make a map of farmland vulnerability to flood inundation based on morphologic characteristics from the flood-damaged areas. Vulnerability mapping based on the records of flood damages has been conducted in four successive steps; data preparation and preprocessing, identification of morphologic criteria, calculation of inundation vulnerability index using a fuzzy membership function, and evaluation of inundation vulnerability. At the first step, three primary digital data at 30-m resolution were produced as follows: digital elevation model, hill slopes map, and distance from water body map. Secondly zonal statistics were conducted from such three raster data to identify geomorphic features in common. Thirdly inundation vulnerability index was defined as the value of 0 to 1 by applying a fuzzy linear membership function to the accumulation of raster data reclassified as 1 for cells satisfying each geomorphic condition. Lastly inundation vulnerability was suggested to be divided into five stages by 0.25 interval i.e. extremely vulnerable, highly vulnerable, normally vulnerable, less vulnerable, and resilient. For a case study of the Jinju, farmlands of $138.6km^2$, about 18% of the whole area of Jinju, were classified as vulnerable to inundation, and about $6.6km^2$ of farmlands with elevation of below 19 m at sea water level, slope of below 3.5 degrees, and within 115 m distance from water body were exposed to extremely vulnerable to inundation. Comparatively Geumsan-myeon and Sabong-myeon were revealed as the most vulnerable to farmland inundation in the Jinju.

The Palgye Plain, located in Chilgok, Buk-gu, Daegu-si, is a floodplain by Palgye-River rising from Mt. Ga one of the mountains in Ring Typed Mountains of Mt. Palgong. The geomorphic surfaces in the study area can be divided into the natural levee, back marsh and confluent fan, and the natural levee and fan have been used as important regions of human activities since the Bronze Age. The alluvium sediments of Palgye-River can be subdivided into the bedrocks, lower gravel deposits, lower sandy deposits, lower silty deposits, upper sand and gravel deposits, and upper silty deposits from the bottom according to the formative ages. The lower gravel deposits correlated to the last glacial stage and the rest to Holocene, respectively. Confluent fans were also formed during the last glacial stage. Moreover, The landscape with land use after 20C was changed to apartment area due to civilization differently from which reflected the characteristics of geomorphic surfaces in the past.
