  • Very recently, by employing an addition theorem for the con-fluent hypergeometric function, Paris has obtained a Kummer-type trans-formation for a $_2F_2(x)$ hypergeometric function with general parameters in the form of a sum of $_2F_2(-x)$ functions. The aim of this note is to derive his result without using the addition theorem.

  • The multiplicity theory initiated by C. Chevalley was the one with respect to ideals generated by a system of parameters of a local ring containing a field [3] and [4]. Samuel generalized the definition to primary ideals belonging the maximal ideal of a local ring which contains a field by a device which used the Hilbert characteristic function [9]. Furthermore Samuel defined multiplicity also in local rings which contain no field [10].

  • In this paper, we propose an iterative algorithm for finding a common solution of a system of generalized equilibrium problems, a split equilibrium problem and a hierarchical fixed point problem over the common fixed points set of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Furthermore, we prove that the proposed iterative method has strong convergence under some mild conditions imposed on algorithm parameters. The results presented in this paper improve and extend the corresponding results reported by some authors recently.

  • In this paper, we investigate some measures as tests of multivariate normality based on principal components. The idea was proposed by Srivastava and Hui(1987). They generalized Shapiro-Wilk statistic for multi variate cases. We show the null distributions of the statistics do not depend on the unknown parameters and mention the asymptotic null distributions. Also power performance of the tests are assessed in a Monte Carlo study.

  • We shall consider estimations of an exponetiated parameter of the exponentiated Pareto distribution with known scale and threshold parameters. A quotient distribution of two independent exponentiated Pareto random variables is obtained. We also derive the distribution of the ratio of two independent exponentiated Pareto random variables.

  • Morphological luminosity parameters$(\mu_e,\;r_e,\;\mu_0,\;\alpha^{-1})$ and D/B were estimated from the decomposition of surface brightness distributions of 28 extra galaxies. Decomposition was made using the standard non-linear least square fitting method and we used the seeing convolved model to get the central brightness of these galaxies. Masses and $M/L_B$ were calculated using rotational velocities of these galaxies from the fitting to the generalized Toomre's mass model.

  • This paper is concerned with the application of generalized linear interactive modelling(GLIM) to the binary categorical data. To analyze the categorical data given by a contingency table, finding a good-fitting loglinear model is commonly adopted. In the case of a contingency table with a response variable, we can fit a logit model to find a good-fitting loglinear model. For a given $2^4$ contingency table with a binary response variable, we show the process of fitting a loglinear model by fitting a logit model using GLIM and SAS and then we estimate parameters to interpret the nature of associations implied by the model.

  • An integrated pattern profile distortion is newly proposed to analyze various two-dimensional test patterns. The unit is converted to a time to make parameters comparable for various types of displays. In addition, this can be compared with that of extended blur edge width in time scale, which has been reported.

  • We present a new network-layer architecture that provides generalized addressing. The forwarding infrastructure is independent of the addressing architecture, so multiple addressing architectures can be used simultaneously. We compare our solution with the existing Internet protocols for unicast and multicast services, given the address assignment used in the Internet. By means of an extensive simulation study, we determine the range of parameters for which the overhead costs(delay, state, and network load) of our service are comparable to those of the Internet.

  • This paper deals with a mixed logit model for vaccination data. The effect of a newly developed vaccine for a certain chicken disease can be evaluated by a noninfection rate after injecting chicken with the disease vaccine. But there are a lot of factors that might affect the noninfecton rate. Some of these are fixed and others are random. Random factors are sometimes coming from the sampling scheme for choosing experimental units. This paper suggests a mixed model when some fixed factors need to have different experimental sizes by an experimental design and illustrates how to estimate parameters in a suggested model.
