Objectives This study was conducted to investigate the management status of extramural herbal dispensary facility, which could serve as a foundation for further research and policy establishment.Method According to herbal dispensary data collected by Ministry of Health and Welfare, 78 sites were confirmed among 1,160 sites which checked extramural herbal dispensary facility. We carried out a survey on them. The survey consisted of 42 questions including general provisions, personnel management, spaces and facilities, equipment and utensils, procedure requirement for production and/or processing.Results From their responses, hygiene was regarded generally admittable. In personnel management, some answers that herbal medicines were prepared not by Korean medicine doctor or pharmacist, but by general worker. On preparation method, dosage frequency and volume were different among preparation facilities. Regarding facility management, prescription inspection was substantially carried out in many extramural preparation facilities, however, some of them was not.Conclusion There was a need for regulation of detailed management including facility, preparation, personnel management, etc., of extramural preparation facility. Furthermore, There was also a need for standardization of procedure on decoction, water management, medicinal herbs management, etc.
This paper investigated the operating environment for the representative of each agency and the facility workers on the basis of analytical result of recognition changes of the operating environment changes under the operating the long-term care insurance. It was described plans to take positive effect on the operating as follows. The first, on the result of regression analysis, the service administrative range takes the biggest effect on the general recognition of executing the long-term care insurance off and on. The affirmative recognition of the service administrative range had the general recognition on the system be positive effect. But the operator of facility asserts that the care manager's professionalism related quality of service be strengthened. The second, on the result of regression analysis, in the financial accounting administrative it is revealed the more positive recognition it is, the more positive effects it has. From the difference verification of an operation size from operation subject, the small operation size and personal facility recognize the long term care insurance positively. On the other side the facilities where the operation size is big recognize the system negatively. The long-term care facility should rearrange a support program newly and the government needs to promote the donation activity, because it is needed to reduce the financial burden of facilities.

Health has been seen as a resource necessary for both maintaining oneself and for living in a society pursuing high quality of life. Therefore, the medicare provision takes place of one of the most significant indexes for evaluating the regional welfare level. The purpose of this study is to investigate the locational characteristics of medicare service facilities. For the purpose, the distribution patterns of the medicare resources are analyzed both at the regional and local scales. The medicare resources are concentrated at the Metropolitan Seoul area in the regional scale, and they are also concentrated at the economic core areas in the local scale. Especially, higher level medicare resources, such as the general hospitals and medical specialists, show more concentration at the economic core areas than lower level services. This means that access to opportunities to receive higher level medicare is poorer in a more socially disadvantaged area. Since medicare service facilities are invested and operated by both private and public sectors, whose locational mechanisms are deferent, we analyzed the distribution patterns. Most medicare facilities are invested and managed by private sector in Korea, which is operated by market mechanism. This is related with the fact that the medicare facilities are concentrated at the economic core areas. The proportion of private sector is higher in the Metropolitan Seoul area, and thus this region shows stronger spatial disparity of medicare provision. In general, the medicare service facilities are located in the hierarchical structure, and thus the services levels and facility scales are differentiated by the hierarchy. We examined the hierarchical structure in the medicare service facilities in Korea. The referral medicare system has been applied with the assumption of the three level hierarchical structures in Korea. However, we could not find any distinct hierarchical structure in the scales of the medical service facilities.

Purpose: Considering the proportion of the population such as the elderly, pregnant women, infants companion and constantly increasing foreign tourists, there is a high need for implementing an environment without barriers. In terms of policy and institutional aspects, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is striving to create an environment without barriers and to promote the safety and convenience of Vulnerable Pedestrians. But it is not enough to create a viable barrier-free environment. Methods: Method of this research is to analyze the general population status and installed facilities status for the disabled in Jeju. And analysis of policy research needs and level of barrier-free. By applying the barrier-free environment certification standards should conduct an assessment of the level of the current public office buildings in Jeju. It presents the environmental improvement of public office buildings for barrier-free environment. Result: Barrier-free environment status of the five public office buildings research surveyed all buildings have shown low levels of installed facilities for the disabled. In particular, it was analyzed that represents a very low level in the intermediate facilities and other facilities. The development of a specific installation manual for the facilities for the disabled is required to improve public office buildings. And barrier-free criteria need to reflect on the implementation of regulations. Implications: Through continuous research to analyze the barrier-free level and problems of public office buildings, it will be made to improve the comprehensive and reasonable alternative.
It is clear that the women's participation in social activity is dramatically increased in civilian field as well as military profession. Because of the characteristics of military nursing service, there are many difficulties. Frequent move, medical insurance, baby care. and the education are typical forms of difficulties for nurse officers in the military. The purpose of this research is to contribute to the perfect execution of nursing service. guarantee the active attitude for research and improve the combat strength by solving those private and economic problems. The method of research was analysis of question survey and the review of related literatures. The subject of research was 300 active nurse officers who work at the Army Hospitals. The survey was conducted 14 days from Oct 15 to Oct 28. The collected data was processed by computer using SPSS(Statistical Package of Social Science). Frequencies and percentages were used to examine the demographic characteristics of subject, and T-test was also used in the case of necessity. The result showed as follows; As the general characteristics of subject group; 28.7 years of average age, 73.6 months of service period, 63.4% of married. In regard of specialty; General 57.7%. Intensive Care 12.7% and Psychiatries 8.8%. The dissatisfactory factors about military welfare system were the difficulties in children education (36.9%). disadvantages on the civil medical insurance system (27.3%), and little chance of self education and development (21.5%). The problems in performing their duties were shown as dwelling instability due to frequent move (67.7%), and bring up children (14.2%). The reasons for resigning their job were shown as the instability of living status (64.2%), bring up children (18.8%) and dissatisfaction to the service (11.2%). The residential status was shown that military offered houses (45.2%), rental houses (29.3%) and own houses(14.64). The average numbers of moving residencies were; 3-4 time(34.6%), less than 2 times(33.1%), and 5-7 times(21.5%). Higher than 94.7% of the subject group spent more than 50.000 Won. In regard of education, they wanted to attend graduate school with their own expense(26.2%), computer science(20%) and Office Job Training(20%). The ways of taking care of children were mother-in-low(49.6%), mother(14.6%), and others(25%). The average expenditure per month for children were 20-30 hundred Won(44.2%), 10-20 hundred Won(25%) and 30-40 hundred Won(22.3%). The places of children care selected were public or occupational care center(56.2%), religious organization(20.8%), and other center managed by social organizations(10.4%). The result of survey for general welfare of nurse officers are as follows; By and large they seem to be satisfied with their job. however. there are some dissatisfactory factors. They are children care facilties, promotion. income. welfare facilities. disadvantage in medical insurance and civil hospitals. house purchase. unfair chances in specialty training. influence on promotion by educational status. and insufficient role for their children and husbands. As conclusion. the recommendations for improving nursing service are as follows; 1. Children care center managed by occupation 2. Dormitory system for children by military personnel 3. Equal opportunities in education according to ability 4. Reasonable moving price according to the distance and scope of family and extra allowance
To find out the actual status of treatment of physically handicapped who were stayed of home, 320 physically handicapped persons were selected among total 6,264 physically handicapped registered in Taejon city, surveyed from January 1st to March 30, 1997. Following are the results ana lysed of collected data from 201 samped persons. 1. For the cause of physically handicapped, 36.3% was congenital, 26.9% was cerebralvascular acciednt(CVA). and 14.9% was infectious diseases and others in that orders. The must frequest cause of below 20 years age group was congenital cause, but that of $20{\sim}30$ years age group and $40{\sim}50$ years age group were accident and CVA repectively. 30.0% of respondents caused by infection and others earned household living expenses. Household living expenses were higher among the respondents caused by congenital cause but those were lowest in the accidental couse group. Handicap durations were longer in the accidental cause group and infections and others group than the congenital cause group and CVA group. 2. 54.7% of studied handicapped were under treatment. But 36.3% of them were stopped treatment, and 8.9 % of them answered not treated. Most handicapped, coused by congenital and CAV, were under treatment, but most of them caused by accidental and others were stopped treatment. 3. For the medical facilities, 54.5% of them utilized welfare facility, but 25.5% utilized general hospital and 20.0% of them utilized oriental medical hospital and health centers. Congenital cause group frequently selected welfare facility for the treatment facility. But accidental cause group frequently seleced general hospitals and CVA gruop frequently selected oriental medical hospital and others. The medical cost of welfare facility, oriental medical hospitals and others were lower than that of general hospitals. 4. The proportions of under treatment were higher among yonger age higher monthly living expenses group shorter handicapped duration groups, congenital cause group and handicap grade II group. But that of stop treatment were higher among congenital cause group, infectious and others cause group, and handicap grade I & then III group. 5. For the feelings satisfacion about medical treatment, only 35.3% of under treated group responed satisfation. 55.5% of them responded so-so, but 9.1 % responed dissatisfaction. The proportion of satisfaction was higher among shorter handicap duration group.
The study analyzed a diachronic distribution, social meanings and social evaluations of ROOJIN. 'Headline Database of Newspaper Articles' and 'Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese' by KOKKEN were used as research data. There were 305 newspaper articles (About 0.2%) which contained the word ROOJIN at 'Headline Database of Newspaper Articles'. The number of newspaper articles related to ROOJIN started to increase in a rapid rate in 1972 and 1973. They were also increased in 1976, from 1981 to 1987, 1992 and 1993. The reasons of increasing of newspaper articles related to ROOJIN on those 4 periods of time could be summarized as follows. Firstly, there was a increasement of ROOJIN who are lonely, are not able to move about freely or live alone. Secondly, the understanding of a symptom of aging called BOKE was necessary. Thirdly, there were negative evaluations in a society towards ROOJIN. There were 453 cases which contained the word ROOJIN at 'Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese' on the data since 2000. The most frequently used words were ones that are related to senior care facilities. There were 109 cases (24%) which contain those words. '~SISETSU', '~SENTA-', '~HO-MU' were presented as words related to senior care facilities. Among them, 78 cases contained the word '~HO-MU' which was similar to a home with family members. The second most frequently used words were ones that are related to 'welfare for the aged' and they are led by 'medical care for the aged'. They occupied about 8%. Institutionalization of medical care for the aged, medical expenses, nursing were presented as words related to 'medical care for the aged'. Words that were related to 'welfare for the aged' led by 'senior care facilities' and 'medical care for the aged' occupied about 32% of research data. As mentioned above, problems of the aged in Modern Japan such as negative evaluations in a society towards ROOJIN, ROOJIN who are lonely, are not able to move about freely or live alone, BOKE could be identified by analyzing the data. Also, The frequent usage of words such as 'Home for the aged', 'medical care for the aged' and 'nursing' could be identified. The outcome of analysis suggested that a family traditionally had a function of solving problems of the aged but that function was reduced in modern Japan. It also suggested that there was a tendency to outsource problems of the aged as much as possible.
As the trend shows that corporate investment for staff's welfare facilities has increased alongside employee's enhanced economic and conscious level which has resulted from economic growth and industrialization this study aims at analyzing interior design elements in staff's welfare facilites especially in cafeteria and suggesting new directions for designing those spaces. The method and scope of this study in firstly to described general points such as function and role of public food service and interior design elements in staff's cafeteria and then to grasp and analyze the present conditions of the staff's cafeteria for enterprises and financial organizations which has been built after 1990. The conclusion of his study can be summarized as follows : First it is desirable to locate employee's cafeteria on upper or top floor which has relatively good atmosphere. Second it is recommended to make overall atmosphere of employee's cafeteria impressive and in commercial restaurant. Third the separation of service circulation serveries and eating area is necessary. Fourth material for each parts should be easy to maintain and durable. Fifth more illuminance that the regulation is recommended and lighting fixture should be selected in terms of economics and maintenance. Sixth selecting bright and warm colors with partial application of accent colors is effective. Seventh furniture should be harmonized with the ambience of the space and required to be convenient and durable. Eighth to provide visual and auditory pleasure during eating it is desirable to equip the minimal A/V system. In addition diverse aspects such as improving employee's welfare caring for company the way of treating employee an boosting corporate images should be considered when designing staff's cafeteria and interior designer should be able to satis managerial aspects productivity and effectiveness as well as pursuing functional aesthetic facts.
The purpose of this study was to identify the problems and improvement plans of grouphome management, by analyzing the sizes and items of children grouphome budgets of national and local governments. Major results of this study were as follows. First, the most crucial issue regarding labor costs within child grouphome budget, was that there was a significant difference in conditions between workers in similar institutions and regions. Small-sized institutions operated under a system that inevitably required excessive workload for workers, leading to exhaustion. Second, the support of operation expenses was absolutely insufficient to meet the general and special needs of children, and the relative differences between facilities of the same type were also identified. Third, children grouphome had limitations in stable business planing and implementation due to the absence of business expense support. Through this analysis, this paper discussed appropriate budget supporting measures regarding children grouphome, in order to ensure equal protection of grouphome children.
Violence against women includes sexual violence, domestic violence, trafficking, etc. It is a serious problem that violates women's rights and basic freedom. In Korea, with the enactment of the laws on sexual violence and domestic violence in the 1990s, counseling centers and protective facilities for the victims began to be established and have been rapidly increasing in number recently. The purpose of this research was to investigate the current status of the counseling services with a focus on their linkage function. 78 out of 109 counselors working in the counseling centers for sexual and domestic violence throughout Korea responded to a mail survey. The questions included the general characteristics of the centers and the counselors, the structural, relationship and process dimensions of linkage function, and the subjective and objective aspects of the degree of linkage. The findings of the analysis highlighted the following problems. First, the counseling centers played limited role in serving the victims of violence due to lack of resources in the service network. Second, the linkage of services existed on a relatively small scale which was mostly based upon informal and unstructured relationship. Third, according to the multivariate analysis, the existence of potential partner agencies, the effort of the line staff to initiate the linkage relationship and mutual cooperation between agencies determined the degree of linkage among services. These findings suggest implications for establishing a more effective system to protect the victims of violence.
