  • The purpose of this study was to research the perception and concern of university students with regard to well-being, and how these affected their assessment and satisfaction of university dormitory foodservice. Therefore, a survey was administered to 328 college students that use a dormitory foodservice. The results of the survey are as follows: First, the more positive the self-centered and society-centered values in relation to well-being, the greater both the concern and will to practice well-being through the eating well-being foods. Second, the attitude toward well-being food was positively correlated with the taste, amount, temperature, appearance and shape of dishes. Third, unlike the will to practice well-being through the eating well-being foods, the greater the concern about foods of well-being, the more positive was the effect on the general satisfaction with the foodservice. The greater the satisfaction with the attributes of a foodservice had a substantial influence on the general satisfaction with the foods. That is to say, the taste and type of dishes played a key role in the general satisfaction with the foods. Fourth, the concern in relation to foods of well-being had no measurable influence on the decisions with regards to the satisfaction of a foodservice or on the intention to reuse that foodservice. In addition, in relation to the degree of satisfaction with the attributes and use of a foodservice, the taste, type, appearance and shape of dishes had an important impact on the decisions to use and reuse a foodservice. Fifth, the general satisfaction with the meals served by a foodservice operation had a measurable influence on the satisfaction with, and intention to reuse that foodservice.

  • In spite of the progress in techniques and materials of the prosthodontic rehabilitation of patients with complete edentulous arches, prosthodontists still face patients' complaints about dissatisfaction and discomfort from their dentures. In the past several decades, prosthodontists tried to find the factors that influence the patient's satisfaction with dentures. However the results are contraversial especially with the psychological factor. In this study using 'patient denture satisfaction questionnaire' and Hopkins Symptom Checklist, we tried to find the correlation between the patient's denture satisfaction and the patient's psychological aspects. 23 complete edentulous patients who have visited the Department of Prosthodontics, Yonsei University Dental Hospital from September 1998 to June 1999 for complete denture treatment were asked to complete the questionnaires 4 to 6 weeks after the upper and lower complete delivery. After the measurement of validity of the questionnaires, correlations between the patient's general satisfaction with their new upper and lower complete dentures and the other satisfaction questions including the satisfactions with esthetics, retention, mastication, speech, comfort and other people's opinion and between the patient's general satisfaction with their new upper and lower complete dentures and the 5 symptoms of Hopkins Symptoms Checklist including somatic, obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression and anxiety were analyzed. Among the several satisfaction questionnaire items, comfort with the lower denture showed highest relation to the patient's general satisfaction with dentures. However, only the anxiety scale of Hopkins Symptoms Checklist among the other symptom scales was related to the patient's general satisfaction with dentures. The two questionaires used in this study turned out to be valid means of analyzing patient's denture satisfaction and psychological status before and after the complete denture treatment.

Results: Hierarchical structure was dominant in general hospital whereas relationship was highly valued in small to medium-sized hospital. Occupational satisfaction was positively correlated with work environment built on relationship, innovation and tasks. Factors significantly influencing on occupational satisfaction in general hospital included innovative work environment, nurses' income and their health status ($R^2$=40.3%). For the small to medium-sized hospital, they included innovative work environment, satisfaction in life, tasks and professionalism ($R^2$=40.4%). Methods: Participants were 71 general nurses and 71 preceptor nurses working at comprehensive nursing care service units of G University hospital in I City. The level of educational satisfaction of general nurses and occupational stress of preceptor nurses were measured and compared. The differences in educational satisfaction and occupational stress before and after the education program were verified by paired t-test and one-way ANOVA using SPSS/WIN 27.0 statistical program. Differences before and after the education program according to the general characteristics were analyzed with repeated measure analysis of variance after Sapiro-Wilks normality test, and post-hoc analysis was conducted using Scheffétest. Results: It was inferred that there was a significant difference (t=-9.32, p<.001) in the educational satisfaction of general nurses, with an average of 3.72±0.77 before the education and 4.47±0.60 after the education. However, there was no significant difference in occupational stress in the preceptor nurses. Conclusion: It could be concluded that introduction of educational nurse practitioners at comprehensive nursing care service units has a positive effect on the educational satisfaction of general nurses. This result will serve as basic data to implement educational nurse practitioners for general nurses in all medical institutions as well as comprehensive nursing care service units.

Factors influencing intent to revisit the hospital for patients in the comprehensive nursing care unit were 'satisfaction with nursing care' (p<.001) and 'use of additional costs for comprehensive nursing care' (p=.041). The factor influencing intent to revisit hospital for patients in the general care unit was 'satisfaction with nursing care' (p<.001).
