It is important to improve the creative problem- solving ability through subject matter education. Especially, Informatics education is important to improve the problem-solving ability by using computer as well as the general problem-solving ability. This paper identifies the creative problem- solving ability which is required in Informatics education. The cognitive components of the creative problem-solving ability are organized as the result of crossing the problem-solving ability and the creativity. This paper investigated the validity of the contents as judged by a panel of experts. The cognitive components of creativity are the elaboration, sensitivity, and reorganization in the step of 'Understanding and Analysis the Problem'. Also, The cognitive components of creativity are the fluency, flexibility, and originality in the step of the 'Exploring the Problem Solutions'. The cognitive components of creativity are elaboration in the step of the 'Design the Problem Solution' and 'Implementation'. Finally, the cognitive components of creativity are the flexibility and elaboration in the step of the 'Evaluation'.
Systematic modeling methods. which can correctly represent user requirements, are absolutely required to extract components when developing components. But, components are designed and developed In general based on the concept of object modeling so that they lacks in supporting representing cooperation and interaction as well as reuse. It means extracting components is not easy to be applied to complicated and sophisticated large-scale systems. This paper utilizes a role modeling method based on the role of objects, not on objects themselves, to complement object modeling. The Role modeling can break down a complicated system into simple models through abstracting the pattern of objects based on roles of the objects. In this study, an UML-based method extracting components through role modeling is embodied. UML can represent models from various standpoints so that role models arc also viewed from several points of view.
When the seismic stability of quay walls is analyzed, the magnitudes of force components acting on quay walls during earthquakes and the phase relations among these force components must be properly evaluated. In general, force components include inertia force of the quay wall, lateral earth force, and water force. The magnitude and the phase relation of each force component vary according to the magnitude of the excess pore pressures developed in backfill soils of the quay wall. The dynamic thrust mobilized at the contact surface between the backfill soil and the wall develops as a result of the interactions among these force components. We propose a simple model to evaluate the magnitude and phase variation of the dynamic thrust on the back of the wall in terms of the excess pore pressure. The proposed model can predict the dynamic thrust by summing the magnitudes of farce components calculated from design equations for seismic pressures on the wall. The proposed model was verified by comparing its results with the results from a series of shaking table tests.
Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the incidence and risk factors of myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke in farmers compared to the general population and to establish 5-year prediction models. Methods: The farmer cohort and the control cohort were generated using the customized database of the National Health Insurance Service of Korea database and the National Sample Cohort, respectively. The participants were followed from the day of the index general health examination until the events of MI, stroke, or death (up to 5 years). Results: In total, 734 744 participants from the farmer cohort and 238 311 from the control cohort aged between 40 and 70 were included. The age-adjusted incidence of MI was 0.766 and 0.585 per 1000 person-years in the farmer and control cohorts, respectively. That of stroke was 0.559 and 0.321 per 1000 person-years in both cohorts, respectively. In farmers, the risk factors for MI included male sex, age, personal history of hypertension, diabetes, current smoking, creatinine, metabolic syndrome components (blood pressure, triglycerides, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol). Those for stroke included male sex, age, personal history of hypertension, diabetes, current smoking, high γ-glutamyl transferase, and metabolic syndrome components (blood pressure, triglycerides, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol). The prediction model showed an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.735 and 0.760 for MI and stroke, respectively, in the farmer cohort. Conclusions: Farmers had a higher age-adjusted incidence of MI and stroke. They also showed distinct patterns in cardiovascular risk factors compared to the general population.
This study examined the nutrient components and measured the physicochemical properties of 23 Korean sweet potato cultivars. The proximate composition, free sugars, organic acids, and dietary fiber of sweet potato were analyzed and the water binding capacity, oil absorption and pasting characteristics were measured. The proximate composition was the highest in Happymi and was higher in colored sweet potato than in general sweet potato (p<0.05). The sucrose content was the highest among the free sugars in the general cultivars and yellow/orange colored cultivar. The major organic acids were oxalic acid, citric acid, malic acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid, and acetic acid. Oxalic acid and citric acid were high in the purple colored cultivars and malic acid was high in yellow/orange colored cultivars. Each total dietary fiber content of the general and colored cultivars was 7.51-13.94 and 13.04-16.97%, respectively, but there was no significant difference. The water binding capacity and oil absorption of Juhwangmi was high in all cultivars (p<0.05). The peak viscosity of sweet potato powder showed highest a significant difference of 12.50-1342 cP (p<0.05). The breakdown of Sincheonmi was 512, which was the highest value (p<0.05). The setback of Geonpungmi was significantly low, 6.0 (p<0.05).
This study investigated how general blended learning strategies and flipped-learning instructional strategy affect college students' social presence and group cohesion. The main results of this study were summarized as follows. First, the group of flipped-learning instructional strategy was more effective in college students' social presence than general blended learning. Second, it was found that groups using flipped-learning instruction strategy had more positive effects on improving group cohesion among college students than those using the general blended learning instructional strategy. The results of this study can influence the identification and verification of the main components to be considered when using flipped-learning instruction strategy in blended learning environment. The results of this study can influence the identification and verification of the main components to be considered when using flipped-learning instruction strategy in blended learning environment.
The machinery industry provides infrastructure to many manufacturing industries and it has strong influences on performance and quality of products. However, Korean economic growth has been constantly causing the korean general machinery industry to significantly depend on Japan. To solve this problem, many industrial policies have been tried. In this paper, we divide the value chain of general machinery industry into four steps; technology development step, manufacturing step, marketing step, and after-sales management step. We study the relationships between each of these steps and the awareness of dependency on Japan. For empirical analysis we surveyed 207 domestic companies in general machinery industry. The findings are that the three factors, technology development competency, marketing competency and after-sales management competency have significant relationships with dependence on Japan. Manufacturing competency is not a significant factor. As control variables, the type of manufacturers has effect on dependency on Japan. The company size, the kinds of products and technology levels of products don't have effects on the relationship between the four steps of the value chain and dependency on Japan. To overcome the trade imbalance with Japan in the general machinery industry, we recommend to develop technology development competency, marketing competency, and after-sale management competency. Also we need to adopt industry supporting policies, not depending on all three control variables of company sizes, the kinds of products and the technology levels of products, but depending on the type of manufacturers.
A research was conducted to investigate the effect of treatment of woody charred materials such as wood vinegar, charcoal, and mixture of wood vinegar and charcoal on the growth and components of tomato and chinese cabbage. The effect of treatment of woody charred materials on the growth and components of tomato the research findings are as follows. The total number of soil microorganisms increased in the groups treated with woody charred materials compared with the control. The fruit number, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight, hardness and sugar contents of tomato did not show significant difference in all plots treated with woody charred materials, but the plot treated with wood vinegar + charcoal showed relatively higher values in general. Vitamin C contents were shown higher in the plots treated with woody charred materials than the control, and among the treatment plots. The effect of treatment of woody charred materials on the growth and components of chinese cabbage the research findings are as follows. The soil chemical components did not change before and after the treatment of woody charred materials. The total number of soil microorganisms increased in the treatment plots compared with the control, The leaf length, leaf width, inner leaf number, plant weight, and head weight of Chinese cabbage treated with woody charred materials were in general larger than the control. Among the treatment plots, the plot treated with wood vinegar + charcoal showed slightly higher values. The contents of minerals in chinese cabbage such as Ca, Fe, K, Mg and Mn were higher in the treatment plots than the control.

The main function of the general hospital building is to provide medical facilities and service. However, damage to the non-structural elements such as architectural, medical, mechanical and other components will interrupt those functions after the earthquake. Especially, it is considered that, damage to the non-structural elements is a serious event because it is directly associated with the lives of patients. Therefore, this study evaluated whether the certain non-structural elements of general hospital building has the seismic performance to provide hospital medical services after the earthquake. The evaluation is conducted by selecting the non-structural elements used in general hospital which are sensitive to acceleration, such as cooling towers, air handler, MRI and CT. As a result, the non-structural elements located on the upper floor without suitable support method did not meet the performance objective. Therefore, adequate anchorage against the seismic event is required for such non-structural elements that are acceleration-sensitives.
Purpose: This study was examined the quality of the sexual life among married women in terms of the factor structure of Sexual Quality of Life(SQOL) and evaluated the predictive value of 11 variables for SQOL. Method: Two hundred and ninety-three married women completed the Korean version SQOL scale with information on age, education, length of marriage, family income, health, sexual knowledge, coital frequency, harmony with family members, levels of affection, and general and sexual communication. Data were analysed with principal components and regression analyses. Result: The SQOL scale had two clearly defined factors, Negative Quality of Sexual Life and Positive Quality of Sexual Life, on which all scale items were significantly loaded, accounting for 54.3% of the total variance. Independent regression analysis showed all variables except education to be significant predictors of SQOL with interpersonal variables (general and sexual communication, affection and harmony with family members) being the most powerful predictors. However when the 11 variables were combined together in stepwise analysis, only 6 variables (general communication, age, affection, coital frequency, sexual knowledge and health) were significant, accounting for 39% of the total variance. Conclusion: The Korean version SQOL scale is a good measure to tackle SQOL in married women. To enhance SQOL, strengthening interpersonal interaction focusing on general/sexual communication, affection and harmony with family members seems to be more important than sexual activities and personal characteristics.
