  • Distribution Function and Drift velocities for electrons in $SF_6$-Ar mixtures gases used by MCS-BEq algorithm has been analysed over the E/N range 30~300[Td] by a two term Boltzmann equation and by a Monte Carlo simulation using a set of electron cross sections determined by other authors, experimentally the electron swarm parameters for 0.2[%] and 0.5[%] $SF_6$-Ar mixtures were measured by time-of-flight method. The results obtained in this work will provide valuable information on the fundamental behaviors of electrons in weakly ionized gases and the role of electron attachment in the choice of better gases and unitary gas dielectrics or electro negative components in dielectric gas mixtures. The results show that the deduced electron drift velocities agree reasonably well with theoretical for a rang of E/N values.

  • The electron transport coefficients in not only pure atoms and molecules but also in the binary gas mixtures are necessary, especially on understanding quantitatively plasma phenomena and ionized gases. Electron transport coefficients (electron drift velocity, density-normalized longitudinal diffusion coefficient, and density-normalized effective ionization coefficient) in binary mixtures of TEOS gas with buffer gases such as Kr, Xe, He, and Ne gases, therefore, was analyzed and calculated by a two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation in the E/N range (ratio of the electric field E to the neutral number density N) of 0.1 - 1000 Td (1 Td = 10−17 V.cm2). These binary gas mixtures can be considered to use as the silicon sources in many industrial applications depending on mixture ratio and particular application of gas, especially on plasma assisted thin-film deposition.

  • The asymmetric hollow fiber membranes were prepared by the wet spining of polyetherimide dope solution and the effect of hollow fiber structures on the permeation characteristics of carbon dioxide and nitrogen gases through these membrane were investigated. As the concentration of the $\gamma$-butyrolactone (GBL) in dope solution, acting as a swelling agent was increased, the structure of hollow fiber was changed from the finger to sponge type. The permeabilities of gases (CO$_{2}$, N$_{2}$) through these membrane were measured over the wide range of pressure under different temperature. The effect of water vapor on the permeabilities of gases was also investigated. The measured permeabilities showed the different characteristics depending on the structure of membranes. It was found that the flow through the pores were dominant over the polymers matrix. Blocking effect by water vapor in the pores of skin layer greatly improved the ideal separation factor of carbon dioxide/nitrogen.

  • The field degradation of carbon nanotube field emitters in diode emission at constant current was demonstrated to be highly dependent upon the presence of residual gases at partial pressures. Upon exposure to a higher pressure of oxygen containing gases, for example, $O_2$ and CO increased the voltage. Those gases give rise to chemical etching to CNTs emitters. On the contrary, $CH_4$ affected the emission properties in the opposite direction as decreasing the voltage which was probably attributed to the introduction of adsorbate tunneling states. The mixed gas may cause a combined effect of both adsorbate tunneling states and CNT etching.

  • The various degradation phenomena, such as the evolution of gases, tan $\delta$, moisture content and total acid number in power transformer insulation oil, have been measured and analyzed. Mineral oil has been degraded at laboratory by the forced thermal stress of $60^{\circ}C$ and $90^{\circ}C$ respectively. Thermal aging oil has been degraded about 17, 34, 72 days. Also, we extracted insulation oil from working transformers. We measured gases dissolved in samples, tan $\delta$, moisture content, total acid number. Activation energy and resistivity is calculated from them. It is found that gases and tan $\delta$ increases as partial discharge and total acid number increases and that conductivity of the sample increases as activation energy increases.

  • In oil-filled equipment such as transformers, partial discharge or local overheating will precede a final shutdown. Accompanied with such problems is a decomposition of insulating material into gases, which are dissolved into the transformer oil. The gases dissolved in oil can be separated with some membranes based on the differences in permeability of membranes to different gases. This paper discuss the permeability characteristics of several membranes for separation hydrogen gas in oil. With result of this paper, it may become possible to detect fault-related gases from transformer oil and predict incipient failures in the

  • The effects of partial pressures of various gases on the qualities of coated conductors are studied, where the long samples were fabricated in a vacuum of a large physical vapour deposition system. The various gases such as $0_25,$H_2$,H_20$,$C_n H_m$, and CO come out from the large heating system and gives somewhat complicated effects on the interfacial chemistry at CeO/Ni which Is Important for the epitaxial growth of the film. The results of XRD measurements on the films fabricated in the controlled partial pressures of thoes gases will be presented.

  • The adsorption and desorption behavior of orgnaic gases were investigated using the resonant frequency and admittance method. Sensitive material were depositied on the quartz crystal microbalence by using Langmuir-Blodgett method. To investigate the response characteristics of organic gases, Resonant frequency-Resonant admittance (F-A) diagram was used. The quantity and quality information about organic gases can be obtained by that diagram. As a results, when the organic gases were adsorpted into sensitive material, the physical property changees of sensitive material were occured.

  • The DGA (Dissolved Gases Analysis) technique has been widely using for fault diagnosis of the power transformers. Some electric power utility company establishes the criteria of DGA to improve reliability, because of difference of operation environment and design of power transformer. In this paper, we introduce intelligent diagnosis system for DGA result of KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Cooperation). This system can classify patterns type of gases ratio that frequently occurs in recent result of gases analysis using Fuzzy Inference. The classification of Patterns let us know that major causes of gases generation based on type of patterns. Finally, Neural Network based on patterns diagnose transformer. NN was trained using result data of DGA of actually faulted transformers recently. Result of intelligent diagnosis system is right well in comparison with actual inner inspection of transformers.

  • The standard RELAP5/MOD3.2 code was modified using the non-iterative modeling. which is developed to simulate steam condensation in the presence of noncondensable gases ill a vertical tube. The modified RELAP5/MOD3.2 code was used to simulate two kinds of vertical in-tube experiments involving the condensation phenomenon in the presence of noncondensable gases. The modeling capabilities of the modified RELAP5/MOD3.2 codc as well as the standard code for the condensation in the presence of noncondensable gases are assessed using two PCCS condensation experiments and four reflux condensation experimcnts. The modified RELAP5/MOD3.2 code gives good prediction over the data of both PCCS condensation and reflux condensation experiments
