  • 현재 대한민국에서는 게임 산업으로 벌어들이는 외화가 많고 게임 산업이 규모가 큼에도 게임 규제에 관련된 법안을 계속하여 발의, 채택하는 모습을 보이고 있다. 뉴스를 검색해 보아도 게임이 사회적으로 도움이 되거나 게임으로 긍정적인 효과를 보았다는 기사는 찾아보기 힘든 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 게임에 사용되는 기술들의 발전으로 게임의 역할이 늘어났던 기존 사례와 앞으로의 기술 발전으로 늘어갈 게임의 역할들을 분석, 제시하여 게임 산업이 가질 수 있는 큰 잠재능력과 발전 가능성을 정리하고자 한다.

  • 게임 시장에서는 다양한 형태로 확률형 아이템을 판매하고 있다. 그 중 확률형 아이템은 게임사의 주요 수입원이다. 그러나 유저들에게는 확률형 아이템의 랜덤성 때문에 게임을 즐기는 데 있어서 스트레스를 받고 정확하지 않은 과금액과 사행성이 담겨 있는 판매 방식으로 인해 혹평을 내놓는다. 본 논문에서는 설문을 기반으로 유저가 확률형 아이템의 어느 부분에 불만이 있는지 구체적으로 제시하여 기업이 유저들의 불만을 파악하고 줄이는데 도움을 주고자 한다.

  • 게임에서의 캐릭터는 플레이어와 게임을 연결해주는 중요한 역할을 하며, 더 나아가 게임의 재미를 느끼는 데 필요한 요소 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 최근 대표적으로 인기를 끌고 있는 MOBA 장르의 게임인 리그 오브 레전드, 오버워치, 히어로즈 오브 더 스톰, 사이퍼즈 총 4개 게임의 캐릭터와 역할에 대한 재미를 분석하여 공통적인 재미 요소를 정리하고 설문 조사를 통해 유저들의 선호도를 파악하여 앞으로 게임 캐릭터 기획 제작에 대해 도움을 주고자 한다.

  • Game industry has been grown up with invigorating online game since 1990s and increased in the spending side by focusing on commercial business. Game, however, has displayed a role that can producing cyber culture with Machinima that is a kind of movie made by a game engine. It should be discussed that non-linear activity of game is disclosed being closely connected with the environment of online space. Accordingly, there are three ways for this study. The first, characteristics of game environment taken non-linear effect related to hypertext space is researched. The second, Machinima is discussed as expansion of hypertext literature. And the last, considering game as consumption of just playing, game is able to become the subject role that can create virtual culture with making a variety of Machinima. consequently, through dichotomy and a liner form between consumption and production in hypertext space leaded to non-liner situation, positive and active features of game that has taken the activity of virtual reality into the multimedia literature would be delivered.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the entertainment culture has influenced the fashion of the college students since the year 2000, and to analyze the fashion trends of those who enjoy their entertainment culture. The entertainment culture is, therefore, perceived in the most sensitive way by the college students, who belong to the latter period of their adolescence, while influencing them. Especially recently, the entertainment culture of the college students has emerged as a new symbol of the overall fashion. And its effect on the fashion has become conspicuous. The 21st entertainment culture is comprised of "club culture", which is an off-line fad, and "on-line game culture". The result of this study is as follows: Firstly, the formative way that the so-called "club culture" influenced the fashion of the college students shows that their overall fashion trends are characterized by a 'caports image' and a 'childlike-amusing image'. Secondly, the formative fashion style, influenced by the so-called "on-line game culture", presents a 'post- structural image' by using heterogeneous material in order to introduce a new point of view, and by transforming the creation style and design. And it also presents a 'homosexual image' by crossing the attractiveness of both genders. This study is baseds on the documents study.

  • Recently, Transition to the epoch of world has put an emphasis on the contents that has been emerging as the value of world economy. Consequently the core of industry is moving from IT industry to culture contents industry. Especially Game Industry among the culture contents industry is estimated that it will be the biggest power of influence in size and social influence. Game Industry is one of the high value-added, knowledge-based industries whose market is increasing faster than any other cultural industries. And game industry includes the technology, culture, cultural science and industry. It effectively symbolizes the character of synthetic entertainment industry in comparison with another industry. Also Game Industry is embedding as the superpower industry that competent to draw the whole development of culture industry because game development is intensifying into One-Source Multi-Use. It is important finding of this paper that it is necessary to ensure the competitive power and understand value and character of contents and to project the policy of human power and technology of Game Industry.

  • To minimize a negative cognition of the game, recently the game industry has been researched of serious games such as medical game, tutoring game, advertisement and game training simulation game. The development and method of those serious games is far less formalized than other software development and is still in the beginning stages. We will define three types of advertisement games in the paper and propose a serious game development method which is based on traditional activities culture. Also we will explain element technologies and process for developing a serious game and apply a suggested method to YOOT games which is a typical Korea traditional game among several games.

  • Method of making For the improved game industry, this society was permitted as an incorporated association for spearhead of game society from Ministry of Culture & Tourism on February 14, 2001 with a sense of duty and a strong will toward a powerful game country. This society has objectives of academic research and distributions on creations of game contents, technologies of game producing and developments of game cultures. We will develop the game culture and industry through an industry-academic cooperations by each expert field, and spread out academic activities for cultivation of policy, technology, education, etc of the game industry in the future.

  • This study seeks to examine the aspects of the translation and translation activities of game fan translators through the localization case of 'Dragon Age Inquision'. The interaction and experience of the game are game fan translation, giving various motivations and generating translation kinetics. The study confirmed the motivation by observing the process of game fan translation, which shows the characteristics of producers and recipients at the same time, and interviewing game fan translators. The translation of the game fan will reveal the productive aspect of the game fandom, and then I suggest a point where the game culture should discuss the fan translation.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the sociocultural context of the pre-game period, and how the context influenced on the identity formation of games. Games did not develop with the fixed and stable identities. Instead, games is the outcome which is conceived in the history of articulation of various discourses, technologies and social factors. The mechanical amusement devices was consumed for the urban entertainment, and made a strained relations with the society for the speculative and pathological characteristics. The mechanical amusement has extended to the electronic games in 1970s, and reached the present digital game culture.
