This paper proposes a systematic designs methodology for the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) model based fuzzy control systems with guaranteed stability and pre-specified transient performance for the application to a nonlinear magnetic bearing system. More significantly, in the proposed methodology , the control design problems which considers both stability and desired transient performance are reduced to the standard LMI problems . Therefore, solving these LMI constraints directly (not trial and error) leads to a fuzzy state-feedback controller such that the resulting fuzzy control system meets above two objectives. Simulation and experimentation results show that the proposed LMI-based design methodology yields only the maximized stability boundary but also the desired transient responses.
This paper proposes a systematic design methodology for the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) model based fuzzy state feedback control system with multi-objectives. In this investigation, the objectives are set to be guaranteed stability and pre-specified transient performance, and this scheme is applied to a nonlinear magnetic bearing system. More significantly, in the proposed methodology, the control design problems that consider both stability and desired transient performance are reduced to the standard LMI problems. A systematic design method for PDC(Parallel Distributed Compensation)-type continuous time Takagi-Sugeno(T-S in short) fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states is developed in this paper. Reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator is introduced from existing T-S fuzzy model using the PDC structure of Wang et al. [1] LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities) problems which represent the stabililty of the reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator are derived. Pole placement constraints idea for each rules is adopted to determine the estimator gains and they are also revealed as LMI problems. these LMI problems are combined with Joh et al's [7][8] LMI problems for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy controller design to yield a systematic design method for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states.
This paper presents a LMI(linear matrix inequality)-based fuzzy approach of modeling and active vibration control of geometrically nonlinear flexible plates with piezoelectric materials as actuators and sensors. The large-amplitude vibration characteristics and dynamic partial differential equation of a piezoelectric flexible rectangular thin plate structure are obtained by using generalized Fourier series and numerical integral. Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to approximate the nonlinear structural system, which combines the fuzzy inference rule with the local linear state space model. A robust fuzzy dynamic output feedback control law based on the T-S fuzzy model is designed by the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) technique, and stability analysis and disturbance rejection problems are guaranteed by LMI method. The simulation result shows that the fuzzy dynamic output feedback controller based on a two-rule T-S fuzzy model performs well, and the vibration of plate structure with geometrical nonlinearity is suppressed, which is less complex in computation and can be practically implemented.
In this paper, we propose an efficient control method that can be transformed into a general building control problem for building structure control using these reliability criteria. To facilitate the calculation of controller H∞, an efficient solution method based on Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) is introduced, namely H∞-based LMI control. In addition, a self-tuning predictive grey fuzzy controller is proposed to solve the problem caused by wrong parameter selection to eliminates the effect of dynamic coupling between degrees of freedom (DOF) in Self-Tuning Fuzzy Controllers. We prove stability using Lyapunov's stability theorem. To check the applicability of the proposed method, the proposed controller is applied and the control characteristics are determined. The simulation assumes system uncertainty in the controller design and emphasizes the use of acceleration feedback as a practical consideration. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed controller is impressive, stable, and consistent with the performance of LMI-based methods. Therefore, an effective control method is suitable for seismic reinforcement of civil buildings.

This paper presents a new T-S(Tae-Sugeno) fuzzy controller design method satisfying the output energy bound. Maximum output energy via a quadratic Lyapunov function to obtain the bound on output energy is derived. LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) problems which satisfy an output energy bound for both of the continuous-time and discrete-time T-S fuzzy control system are also derived. Solving these LMIs simultaneously, we find a common symmetric positive definite matrix P which guarantees the global asymptotic stability of the system and stable feedback gains K's satisfying the output energy bound. A simple example demonstrates validity of the proposed design method.
This paper examines the problem of designing an $H_{\infty}$ fuzzy state-feedback controller for a class of uncertain nonlinear descriptor systems which is described by a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model. Based on a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, we develop an $H_{\infty}$ state-feedback controller which guarantees the $L_2$-gain of the mapping from the exogenous input noise to the regulated output to be less than some prescribed value for this class of systems. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the design developed in this paper.

This paper proposes a practical gain-scheduling control law considering robust stability and performance of Linear Parameter Varying(LPV) systems in the presence of nonlinearities and uncertainties. The proposed method introduces LMI-based pole placement synthesis and also associates with a recently developed fuzzy control system based on Takagei-Sugenos fuzzy model. The sufficient conditions for robust controller design of linearized local dynamics and robust stabilization of fuzzy control systems are reduced to a finite set of Linear Matrix inequalities(LMIs) and solved by using co-evolutionary algorithms. The proposed method is applied to the longitudinal acceleration control of high performance aircraft with linear and nonlinear simulations.

In this paper, we design 75(Takagi-Sugeno) fuzzy controllers for the systems that can be represented by the 75 fuzzy model. We use inverse optimal approach in which the cost function is determined later than the Lyapunov function and its corresponding control input satisfying the design requirements such as stability and decay rate. The obtained design procedure is in the form of solving LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities), thus very efficient in practice.

This paper proposes a new nonlinear speed controller with a fuzzy load torque observer based on the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy method for a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM). The LMI conditions are derived for the existence of the proposed nonlinear speed controller and fuzzy load torque observer, and the LMI parameterization to obtain the gain matrices of the controller and observer is given. In this paper, to verify the performance of the proposed nonlinear speed controller and fuzzy load torque observer, and the simulation and experimental results are demonstrated under motor parameter and load torque variations.
