Purpose: Humor is an important part of life. Humor has many benefits as an intervention for hospitalized children. Humor is one strategy that pediatric nurses can use to help children cope with illness and hospitalizations. The purposes of the study were to 1) review the definition of humor, 2) identify methods and skills in using humor as an intervention, 3) identify the effects of humor as an intervention, and 4) suggest further research. Method: The design was a descriptive study with literature review. Previous studies were identified by searches of MEDLINE, CHNIAL, PUBMED and ProQuest. Results: Humor has positive physiological, psychological, social and communicative effects on patients and humor has a positive effect on the immune system. Conclusion: The main point identified from this study suggests that humor as a nursing intervention be developed for nurses to use with children who are hospitalized. Further research is needed to develop programs for humor as an intervention for health promotion and disease prevention in children.

This study aims to examine the dynamics of the variables related to the program management of Community Child Centers in Daegu metropolitan area and further search for the measures to activate its development based on the Systems Thinking. For these purposes, the study deals with the followings. Firstly, it overviews the legal bases of the Community Child Centers and its present condition and further reviews the relevant studies. Secondly, it summarizes its methodologies. Thirdly, based on the results of the questionnaire and interviews, it draws the major variables to understand its program management and analyzes its causal feedback structure and dynamics. Lastly, it concludes with the measures to activate its program management. This study is expected to make a useful resource to dynamically understand the program management issue of the Community Child Centers in Korea.

A further attempt is made to reconfirm the previous identified proton NMR signals regarded as a cancer maker. The result of the attempt shows that the NMR signals clearly correspond to the four aromatic proton NMR signals of m-hydroxyphenyl.

This paper claims Hale and Keyser's (1992, 1993a, 2001) Lexical Relational Structure (LRS) theory should be slightly extended by allowing the syntactic principles for the “referential” component to apply to the “manner” component. Then, it shows this extension allows us to deal with most of Clark and Clark's (1979) denominal verbs, except that cases like butcher may further demand Hale and Keyser's (2001) p-signature copying treatment. It also argues that this extension is further supported by a more satisfactory treatment of the distribution of non-bridge verbs, and of an asymmetry in ditransitive passives.

We have previously reported three new oleanene-type glycosides and kudzusaponin $A_3$ methyl ester and subproside II methyl ester from the roots of Echinosophora koreensis. Further study has now led to the isolation of three known oleanen-type glycosides. sophoraflavoside I, azukisaponin V, and kudzusaponin $SA_3$ as their methyl esters. The structures of theses compounds were characterized by spectroscopic and chemical methods.

A 1.3 year-old Castrated male Bedlington terrier (10.0 kg of body weight) was presented with heart murmur and occasional coughing. Diagnostic imaging studies revealed supravalvular pulmonic stenosis (maximal velocity 2.91 m/s) from abnormal membranous structure (aperture) distal to the pulmonary valve in the main pulmonary artery. Further study also revealed pulmonic regurgitant (1.82 m/s of peak velocity, 13.2 mmHg of pressure gradient) jets started from the abnormal membranous structure. Since the dog had no obvious clinical signs related to heart failure, no interventional therapy including balloon dilation was considered in this case. Instead, medical treatment for preventing further deterioration of clinical signs related to PS was done with enalapril. This case report described a rare case of type III supravalvular PS in a dog, which has never been reported. Further deterioration of clinical signs has yet been recognized after medical treatment.

Giusti-Suzor and Fano introduced translations of the scales of Lu-Fano plots by phase renormalization in order to decouple the intra- and inter-channel couplings in multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT). Their theory was further developed by others to deal with systems involving a larger number of channels. In different directions, MQDT was reformulated into forms with a one-to-one correspondence to those in Fano's configuration mixing theory of resonance for photofragmentation processes involving one closed and many open channels. In this study, the theory was further developed to fully reveal the coupling nature, decoupling of the background and resonance scattering in physical scattering matrices as well as to further extract the dynamic parameters undiscovered by Fano and his colleagues. This theory was applied to the photoabsorption spectrum of $H_2$ observed by Herzberg's group.

In general, the definition of criticism is making a constructive analysis between good & evil, right & wrong, and beauty & ugliness. Just as the literature, art, music, and architecture welcomes productive criticism in order for further advancement in each professional field, constructive criticism in the field of interior architecture must be activated stance it would be as useful as in other fields to upgrade the level of design quality If the constructive criticism were to be taken properly in the benefit of further advancement in particular design, then the criticism must hale a proper criteria in order to examine and review the design work objectively However, as the design symbolizes cultural interpretation and reaction towards better creativity, we expect design to be mutated in many different directions. As the limit of Interior architecture shares limitless possibilities in today's society, it seems that we need to set up a guidelines of design criticism in order to support the further development of the area of interior architecture.

We construct a signaling game model between the arbitrator and claimants, in which the arbitrator's marketing amount is adopted as the signaling device. Assuming that the parties to the dispute select an arbitrator, and if there is a difference in the arbitrator's fee depending on the arbitrator's reputation, the arbitrator will pay to further enhance his reputation. We would like to analyze the cost differences between arbitrators who already have a high reputation and arbitrators who strive to further enhance their reputation using the signal model. From the Analysis of our study, We derive perfect Bayesian equilibrium of the signaling game and refine the equilibrium into a unique equilibrium by invoking the Intuitive Criterion of Cho and Kreps (1987). Further, we characterize the refined equilibrium.

For proper installation, operation and performance of axial flow jet engines in aircrafts, the impacts and effects of inlet flow distortion in axial compressors have to be understood. Inlet distortion conditions may cause component-mismatch and instability problems known as rotating stall, and severe oscillations of mass flow rate called surge or a combination of both. Typical effects of this phenomenon include stresses and wear on the compressor blading, destruction of entire jet engines due to the failure of airfoil and mechanical failure or interruption of the combustion process. Therefore, it is important to study inlet flow distortion and its propagation effects to minimize and hence to prevent the occurrence of such calamity. The current novel integral method with parametric analysis signifies its validity to this field of research and offers much potential for further improvements. The present effort further indicates that this simple method may be flourishing in the problems of strongly distorted flow and propagating stall in axial compressor. It is therefore believe that using a more realistic and flexible velocity and pressure profiles could develop this approach further.
