통합교육 환경에서 과학교육의 실천 원리와 적용 가능성 탐색 (An Exploration of Principles for Practice and Application of Science Education in Inclusive Education Settings)

  • 본 연구에서는 통합교육 환경에서 과학교육의 의미를 고찰하고 학교교육 현장에서 통합교육의 실천 원리와 전제들을 언급하였다. 이를 바탕으로 통합교육 상황에서 과학교육의 실천 원리로서 국가 수준 과학 교육 과정 구성에서의 장애 학생에 대한 고려, 교실 단위 과학 학습지도 상황에서 교육과정 조절, 수업 설계에서 다양성을 안정한 개별화 접근, 공통의 학습경험을 공유하는 협력 기반의 과학학습지도 개인적 차이를 고려하는 수준별 과학학습평가 등을 논의하였다. 이에 대한 예시로 시각장애학생을 위한 광학교육 실천사례를 소개하여 적용하였다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 과학교육에서 통합교육 실천의 의미를 논하고 앞으로의 연구 과제를 도출하였다.

안전사고 예방 교육에 대한 공업고등학교 학생들의 인식 연구 (A Study on Technical High School Students' Perception of Prevention Safety Accidents)

  • The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze their opinions to found solutions for reducing safety accidents since it is important to educate the students to recognize the importance of safety. We surveyed 350 students from mechanical and metal engineering departments of an engineering high school located in Seoul, and divided them in two categories and asked them about prevention of safety accidents in laboratories. It is found that further directions and educations are needed for the students as to emergency measures in case of safety accidents. Safety education before laboratory classes is crucial, helpful and effective for prevention of safety accidents. Facility factors that further education is needed for students who don't experiments in orderly manner.

우리나라 수산업의 산업적 분류에 대한 연구 (A Study on Industrial Classification of Fisheries in Korea)

  • The purposes of this study are to analyze problems in industrial classification of fisheries in Korea and to suggest future directions. Based on a thorough review of relevant literature, the study proposes a five-level scheme for classifying fisheries. The highest level should be the fisheries industry, and the next highest level ought to be fisheries. The medium level should include fishing, aquaculture, and fishery service industries. At the fourth level, fishing is to be further divided into sea fishery and inland fishery, aquaculture into sea-surface aquaculture and inland aquaculture, and fishery service industries into integrated fishery service and fishery distribution service. The lowest level is the most detailed. At this level, sea fishery is split into deep sea fishery, offshore fishery, and coastal fishery; sea-surface aquaculture consists of sea aquaculture, seed production aquaculture, and food organism aquaculture; integrated fishery service is further classified into fishery-related service and fishery information service.

Extracting Heart Rate Variability from a Smartphone Camera

  • It is known that blood circulation in human body causes the skin tone to change concurrently with heartbeats. A number of apps have been developed to measure the heartbeat using smartphone camera; however, no any further analysis is performed. In this paper we propose an algorithm that detects heartbeats from the phone's camera and further extracts the heart rate variability (HRV). We compare the HRV extracted from the camera with the HRV extracted from the electrocardiogram. We estimated a number of commonly used HRV characteristics and compared them. Our results show that smartphone camera leads to slightly overestimated characteristics although the difference in extracted HRV signals is negligible. As a consequence we suggest that a smartphone camera can be employed in a quick heart diagnosis and diagnosis of autonomic nervous system.

  • In the past, we implemented a web-based smart education platform, but this is not efficient in a smart or mobile education environment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an Android-based e-board smart platform for a smart or mobile education system. Here, we use Anoto digital pen- and dot pattern-based technologies. This Android-based smart education platform is efficient for a smart education environment. Further, we implement the hardware and software parts of the technologies, an Anoto-based trajectory recognition algorithm, and a probabilistic neural network for handwritten digit and hand gesture recognition.

공학교육에서 문제 및 프로젝트기반학습의 비교 고찰과 적용 방안 (A Comparative Review on Problem-& Project-based Learning and Applied Method for Engineering Education)

  • Despite its ineffectiveness, the dominant pedagogy for engineering education is still "chalk & talk". Meanwhile, student-centered learning models have been highlighted for strong communication, teamwork skills, deep understanding and analysis on social, environmental and economic issues as well as application of their engineering knowledge in practice. Among others, on problem- and project-based learning, this article examines theoretical background and detailed features and a comparison between both learning models including common and different features from the previous theoretical and empirical studies. It reviews some cases of where they have been practiced successfully in engineering, and further, applied strategies for engineering education are suggested.

국내 실내건축 관련학과의 컴퓨터 교육현황에 관한 연구 - 4년제 대학교와 2년제 대학의 교과편성 비교를 중심으로 - (A Study on Present States of Computer Education in Interior Design Dept. - Focus on Comparison between Curriculum of University and that of Junior College -)

  • This study is aimed to analyze present states of computer education in interior design dept. and therefore to offer basic data in order to establish middle and long term plan on computer education. According to results of analysis, computer education course accounts for 10.1 percent in total curriculum. But this component ratio has great difference between university and jumopr college. Namely computer education course of college is much more weighter than that of university. It seems to be results from college's characteristic strategies. But this results to unsuitable curriculum allocation. To solve this problem, further examination of linking computer's course with drafting and drawing course should be required. And to heighten more effect of computer education, other circumstance as well as educational facility should be improved and common CAD laboratory should be produced.

교육용 웹 사용 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting Performance of Education Web Usage by University Students)

  • This study aimed at improving our understanding of education-related Web usage for schoolwork and research in universities. This study found out a list of factors that influence the usage of education-related Web sites by Korean and New Zealand university students and suggested the features of those factors. These findings will enhance further understanding of factors associated with Education-related Web usage and the relationship among attitude, intention to use, and performance, which could help web practitioners design and develop education-related Web sites to promote web usage and attract university students into their web sites.

의학교육에서의 교육정보시스템 활용 (Utilization of an Educational Information System for Medical Education)

  • The teaching and learning environment in medical schools is significantly different from that of other academic fields. An educational information system specifically designed for medical education could be an important solution for the unique context of medical education. In this study, the concept of the educational information system has been reviewed, and how such a system can be utilized effectively for medical education has also been explored. This paper also addresses how learning management systems for online learning could be made more effective through educational information systems. The application of flipped learning, which has been developing rapidly to improve teaching and learning, for medical education was also investigated. In conclusion, it was found that educational information systems could be a solution to various teaching and learning issues in medical schools. In particular, given that high performing students tend to enter medical schools, using educational information systems to improve the teaching and learning environment in medical school should be investigated further.
