  • We introduce the resistant length and examine its properties. We also consider the geometric applications of resistant length to the boundary behavior of analytic functions, conformal mappings and derive the theorem in connection with the fundamental sequences, purely geometric problems. The method of resistant length leads a simple proofs of theorems. So it shows us the usefulness of the method of resistant length.

  • Electrified railroads inject large amount of harmonics, negative sequence and reactive currents to electric supply systems. This paper introduces application of active filter as a 3/1 phase converter for electrified railroad. In this system active filter compensate harmonics, negative sequence and reactive currents and electric railroad and active filter together act as a balance three-phase load with power factor 1

  • The concept of lacunary statistical convergence of triple sequences with respect to gradual 2-normed linear spaces is introduced in this research. We learn about its link to some inclusion and fundamental properties. The notion of lacunary statistical Cauchy triple sequences is introduced in the conclusion, and it is demonstrated that it is equivalent to the idea of lacunary statistical convergence.

  • Directional elements are fundamental to protection scheme security and selectivity, performing such critical tasks as supervising distance elements and controlling overcurrent elements. But, conventional operating principles for directional detection based on negative or zero sequence quantify do not satisfy the requirements for improved sensitivity and fast operation under any fault conditions. In this paper, new algorithm for directional elements is proposed. The proposed algorithm use the positive-sequence superimposed voltages and currents in order to be used in all fault conditions. Also, because this algorithm uses a voltage compensation method. it can be well operated under strong source conditions.

  • This study was conducted to identify the PERV (Porcine Endogenous Retrovirus) integration sites and their characterizations using the porcine genomic sequence information. Total 114 Mb (4.2%) sequence of the 2.7 Gb pig genome was investigated for the PERV sequences. As the results, 8 PERV sequences were identified and their genomic structures were deduced from the BLAST searches against previously known PERV genes. Seven PERVs have internal deletions in the protein coding region and they will not be functional. The other one also has internal deletions in the gag and env genes, indicating this PERV is also defective. Even though we could not identify the functional PERVs in this study, the results presented here can be used for the fundamental research materials for controlling PERV infections in relation to xenotransplantation using porcine organs and tissues.

  • Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been the overwhelmingly prevalent choice for high-data-rate systems due to its superior advantages compared with other modulation techniques. In contrast, a high peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) is considered the fundamental obstacle in OFDM systems since it drives the system to suffer from in-band distortion and out-of-band radiation. The partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique is viewed as one of several strategies that have been suggested to diminish the high PAPR trend. The PTS relies upon dividing an input data sequence into a number of subblocks. Hence, three common types of the subblock segmentation methods have been adopted - interleaving (IL-PTS), adjacent (Ad-PTS), and pseudorandom (PR-PTS). In this study, a new type of subblock division scheme is proposed to improve the PAPR reduction capacity with a low computational complexity. The results indicate that the proposed scheme can enhance the PAPR reduction performance better than the IL-PTS and Ad-PTS schemes. Additionally, the computational complexity of the proposed scheme is lower than that of the PR-PTS and Ad-PTS schemes.

  • In grid-interconnection system, a fast, robust and precise phase angle detector is most important to grid synchronization and the active power control. The phase angle can be easily estimated by synchronous dq PLL system. On the other hand under unbalanced voltage condition, synchronous dq PLL system has problem that harmonics occur to phase angle or magnitude of grid voltage because of the effect of the negative sequence components. So, To eliminate the negative sequence components, the PLL method using APF (All Pass Filter) in a stationery reference frame to extract positive sequence components under unbalanced voltage condition is researched. In this paper, we propose a new PLL method with decoupling network using APF in a synchronous reference frame to extract the positive sequence components of the grid voltage under unbalanced grid. The cut-off frequency of APF in a synchronous reference frame can be set to twice of the fundamental frequency comparing with that of APF in a stationery reference frame which is the fundamental frequency. The proposed PLL strategy can detect the phase angle quickly and accurately under unbalanced gird voltages. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed strategy under different kind of voltage dips.

  • In order to compute the Nielsen number N(f) of a self-map $f:X{\rightarrow}X$, some Reidemeister classes in the fundamental group ${\pi}_1(X)$ need to be distinguished. D. Ferrario has some algebraic results which allow distinguishing Reidemeister classes. In this paper we generalize these results to the Reidemeister sets of iterates.

  • EST analysis was performed to identify stress-responsive and immune-related genes from mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis), cDNA libraries were constructed with liver, intestine and kidney tissues and randomly chosen clones (216 for liver, 198 for intestine and 224 for kidney) were subjected to automated sequence analysis. Of 638 clones sequenced in totlal, approximalely 25% of ESTs was novel sequences (no match to GenBank) or sequences with high homology to hypothrtical/unknown genes. Several potential stress-responsive biomarker and/or immure-related genes were identified in all the tissues examined. It included lectin, MHC class I/II proteins, proteinase inhibitors, superoxide dismulase, catalase, glutathionc-S. transferase, heat-shock protein, warm temperature acclimation protein, complements, methylrransferasc, zinc finger proteins, macrophage maturation associated protein, and others. This information will offer new possibilities as fundamental baseline data for the molecular genetics and breeding of this species with an emphasis on the development of stress. (and disease)-resistsnt fish.
