  • Cleaner production is of substantial importance in changing the environmental approach within advanced industrialized countries. The critical principles involve fundamental understanding of diverse industrial processes, adherence to the earliest techniques of a hierarchy for reducing wastes, and utilization of an underlying thought process to achieve pollution prevention successes that are both technically feasible and cost-effective. Chemical engineering has played a major and unique role in this environmental field. Improving the sustainability of cleaner production will rest on including this subject in the curriculum of university engineering.

  • With Seopa Ryu-Hee's Chunqiugwalyebulyu as the main research subject. this paper is to clarify characteristics in classification of the book's introductory remarks and its academic values. This book is a sort of synthetic collection of introductory remarks classification that defines standardized introductory remarks based on fundamental principles of Chunqiu introductory remarks. Seopa presented two fundamental principles for classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks. First, he clearly defined the nature and the system of the book Chunqiu, which was to present the background of classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks. Second, he declared that writing style and righteousness in Chunqiu serves as standard for classifying the introductory remarks. Seopa classified introductory remarks by type in accordance with these fundamental principles of introductory remarks in order to lay the groundwork for right interpretation of Chunqiu. Further, he was convinced that this classification of introductory remarks would block any chance of the book's wrong interpretation and at the same time, be able to remove the rationale behind distorted theories. This book can be appraised to have significant academic values in that it attempted standardization in classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks through systematic and synthetic analysis on various introductory remarks.

  • This review examines computational simulations of thermoelectric properties, such as electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and thermal conductivity. With increasing computing power and the development of several efficient simulation codes for electronic structure and transport properties calculations, we can evaluate all the thermoelectric properties within the first-principles calculations with the relaxation time approximation. This review presents the basic principles of electrical and thermal transport equations and how they evaluate properties from the first-principles calculations. As a model case, this review presents results on $Bi_2Te_3$ and Si. Even though there is still an unsolved parameter such as the relaxation time, the effectiveness of the computational simulations on the transport properties will provide much help to experimental scientist researching novel thermoelectric materials.

  • Design of novel materials in renewable energy systems plays a key role in powering transportation vehicles and portable electronics. This review introduces the research work of first principles-based computational design for the materials over the last decade to accomplish the goal with less financial and temporal cost beyond the conventional approach, especially, focusing on electrocatalyst toward a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). It is proposed that the new method combined with experimental validation, can provide fundamental descriptors and mechanical understanding for optimal efficiency control of a whole system. Advancing these methods can even realize a computational platform of the materials genome, which can substantially reduce the time period from discovery to commercialization into markets of new materials.

  • Healthcare facilities undergo substantial renovation and remodeling to accommodate changing technologies and regulatory requirements, thereby generating significant quantities of construction-related wastes, and subjecting building occupants to noise, dust, and other health impacting disruptions associated with construction. By designing flexible, adaptive, generic spaces, buildings can better respond to changes imposed by architectural composition of interpersonal and community space of hospital ward with minimum needs renovation and remodeling. This study focuses on the design principles of enhancing flexibility in architectural composition of interpersonal and community space of hospital ward. The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for designing interpersonal and community space of hospital ward through ecological flexible design principles with case on interpersonal and community space of hospital ward.

  • The Original forms of the ancient clothing have been evolved in various designs and showed each unique formativeness based on the basic principles of origami. The purpose of this study was to analyze the basic clothing formativeness in the original forms of the ancient clothing based on the principles of origami. The methods of this study were to identify significant relevant ancient clothing figures with each unique formativeness based on the principles of origami and analyze the formativeness characters and values through comprehensive literature reviews on topic-related books and theses on a foundation of triangulation of observer. The results were as follows: The significant ancient clothing figures with principles of origami were identified as kalasiris, chiton, chlamys, toga, dalmatica, paludamentium, and lorum. The formative principles applied in the ancient clothing figures were identified as exaggerated measurements, folding and unfolding, bending, and angle. And the formative characters and values were identified as potential drape realization, potential silhouette realization, potential three-dimensional design optimality, and potential three-dimensional formativeness realization. The result of this study may be used for a newer approach for the fundamental digging of clothing formativeness in advance.

  • Purpose: This study seeks to address the following research questions: (1) What are the fundamental principles of sports psychology that can be applied to business leadership? (2) How can these principles enhance business leadership effectiveness? As a result, the study may evaluate the necessity and benefits of incorporating sports psychology principles into business leadership practices. Research design, data and methodology: The data collection process in this study involved a systematic Literature review approach, following the prior literature analysis guidelines by numerous past studies. This methodical approach to selecting articles can be useful in synthesizing existing literature and can be referred to as Literature review and selection. Results: The literature analysis has indicated that there is much support for assumptions underpinning business leadership modules, which can be enhanced by applying sports psychology. This topic discusses the traits of self-positivity and mental toughness, goal perspective and interpersonal relationships within a team, and visualization in a sporting organization that can be implemented in business management to support organizational performance. Conclusions: All in all, it can be concluded that organizations must consider adopting Sports Psychology principles into their Leadership Development Programs. Psychological skills development training that includes mental toughness, goal setting, team cohesion,

  • Nowadays, Korean Housing Market have been unstable because of the global economic fluctuation such as steady decline in the interest rate and the house price bubble. While Korean Government policy responses these state, rapidly changing policies led to deep confusion in the Korean Housing Market. In this situation, Analysis for housing market forecasting has been partial and fragmentary, therefore comprehensive solution and systematical approach is required to analyze the housing market including causal nexus between market determining factors. In an integrated point of view, applying the system dynamics modeling, the paper aims at proposing basic Korean housing market dynamics models based on Fundamental principles of housing market determined by supply and demand.

  • The problem of selection among competing models has been a fundamental issue in statistical data analysis. Good fits to data can be misleading since they can result from properties of the model that have nothing to do with it being a close approximation to the source distribution of interest (for example, overfitting). In this study we focus on the preference among models from a family of polynomial regressors. Three decades of research has spawned a number of plausible techniques for the selection of models, namely, Akaike's Finite Prediction Error (FPE) and Information Criterion (AIC), Schwartz's criterion (SCH), Generalized Cross Validation (GCV), Wallace's Minimum Message Length (MML), Minimum Description Length (MDL), and Vapnik's Structural Risk Minimization (SRM). The fundamental similarity between all these principles is their attempt to define an appropriate balance between the complexity of models and their ability to explain the data. This paper presents an empirical study of the above principles in the context of model selection, where the models under consideration are univariate polynomials. The paper includes a detailed empirical evaluation of the model selection methods on six target functions, with varying sample sizes and added Gaussian noise. The results from the study appear to provide strong evidence in support of the MML- and SRM- based methods over the other standard approaches (FPE, AIC, SCH and GCV).
