폴리카보실란의 종류와 용제에 따른 SiCf/SiC복합재의 충진 거동 (Impregnation Behavior of SiCf/SiC Composites Depending on the Polycarbosilane Precursor and Solvent)

  • Process conditions for the impregnation of polycarbosilane preceramic polymer into SiC-based composites were investigated. Two kinds of preceramic polymer (PCP) was impregnated into SiC-fiber fabrics with different solvents of n-hexane and divinylbenzene (DVB). Both microstructural observations and mechanical tests were conducted to evaluate the impregnation. The matrix phases were particulated in the case of hexane solvents. Apparent relative density of the matrix was about 78.8%. The density of matrix was increased to about 96.1-98.8% when the DVB was used; however, brittle fracture was observed during a bending test. The modulus of toughness was less than $0.74J/m^3$. The fabric impregnated with a mixed PCP-dissolved solution showed intermediate characteristics with relative high density of filling (apparent density of ~96.1%) as well as proper bending behavior. The modulus of toughness was increased to about $5.31J/m^3$. The composites developed by changing the precursor and solvent suggested the possibility of fabricating SiCf/SiC composites without a fiber to matrix interphase coating.

Optical sensitivity of DNA-dispersed single-walled carbon nanotubes within cement composites under mechanical load

  • We demonstrated the sensitivity of optically active single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with a diameter below 1 nm that were homogeneously dispersed in cement composites under a mechanical load. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was selected as the dispersing agent to achieve a homogeneous dispersion of SWCNTs in an aqueous solution, and the dispersion state of the SWCNTs were characterized using various optical tools. It was found that the addition of a large amount of DNA prohibited the structural evolution of calcium hydroxide and calcium silicate hydrate. Based on the in-situ Raman and X-ray diffraction studies, it was evident that hydrophilic functional groups within the DNA strongly retarded the hydration reaction. The optimum amount of DNA with respect to the cement was found to be 0.05 wt%. The strong Raman signals coming from the SWCNTs entrapped in the cement composites enabled us to understand their dispersion state within the cement as well as their interfacial interaction. The G and G' bands of the SWCNTs sensitively varied under mechanical compression. Our results indicate that an extremely small amount of SWCNTs can be used as an optical strain sensor if they are homogeneously dispersed within cement composites.

  • 니켈-나노분말/에폭시 복합재료의 계면 특성과 소수성을 자체-감지능과 작동기 측정을 위해 평가하였다. 경사형 시편을 사용하여 접촉 저항 및 저항도를 측정하였다. 자기장에서 복합재료의 작동성을 세가지 파형들, 즉, 싸인, 삼각, 그리고 사각파를 사용하여 평가하였다. 균일하지 않은 표면에 존재하는 소수성 영역 때문에 Ni-에폭시 나노복합재료의 어떤 부분은 초소수성보다는 다소 낮은 접촉각인 110도를 가졌다. 동적 접촉각은 정적 접촉각과 경향이 상호 일치함을 보였다. 니켈-나노분말의 고유의 금속성질 때문에 자체 감지를 확인하였으며, 또한 전자기장에 작동 반응을 잘 하였다. 니켈-나노분말/에폭시 복합재료의 최대 및 최적의 성능을 얻기 위해서, 레이져 변위 센서를 사용하여, 파형, 주파수, 그리고 전압의 함수로 작동기의 변위를 평가하였다. 니켈-나노분말/에폭시 복합재료의 작동은 적용된 주파수와 전압의 함수로써 증가하였다. 작동된 복합재료들의 연신율은 전압의 증가에 따라 삼각 혹은 사각파보다 싸인파에서 더욱 빨리 증가하였다.

중합체 매개 용융압출에 의한 참당귀 나노복합체의 제조 (Fabrication of Nano-composites from the Radix of Angelica gigas Nakai by Hot Melt Extrusion Mediated Polymer Matrixs)

  • Background: The objective of this study was to make colloidal dispersions of the active compounds of radix of Angelica gigas Nakai that could be charaterized as nano-composites using hot melt extrusion (HME). Food grade hydrophilic polymer matrices were used to disperse these compound in aqueous media. Methods and Results: Extrudate solid formulations (ESFs) mediated by various HPMCs (hydroxypropyl methylcelluloses) and Na-Alg polymers made from ultrafine powder of the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai were developed through a physical crosslink method (HME) using an ionization agent (treatment with acetic acid) and different food grade polymers [HPMCs, such as HP55, CN40H, AN6 and sodium alignate (Na-Alg)]. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the amorphization of crystal compounds in the HP55-mediated extrudate solid formulation (HP55-ESF). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis indicated a lower enthalpy (${\Delta}H=10.62J/g$) of glass transition temperature (Tg) in the HP55-ESF than in the other formulations. Infrared fourier transform spectroscopy (FT-IR) revealed that new functional groups were produced in the HP55-ESF. The content of phenolic compounds, flavonoid (including decursin and decursinol angelate) content, and antioxidant activity increased by 5, 10, and 2 times in the HP55-ESF, respectively. The production of water soluble (61.5%) nano-sized (323 nm) particles was achieved in the HP55-ESF. Conclusions: Nano-composites were developed herein utilizing melt-extruded solid dispersion technology, including food grade polymer enhanced nano dispersion (< 500 nm) of active compounds from the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai with enhanced solubility and bioavailability. These nano-composites of the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai can be developed and marketed as products with high therapeutic performance.

유리섬유/나일론 6 복합재료의 계면특성에 미치는 Chloropropyl 말단기를 가진 실란결합체 농도의 영향 (Concentration Effect of Silane Coupling Agents with Chloropropyl End Group on the Interfacial Characteristics of Glass/Nylon 6 Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 사슬말단에 chloropropyl 유기관능그룹을 가지고 있는 실란결합체인 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane(CTMS)을 사용하여 여러 농도에서 유리섬유 표면에 사이징 처리하여 유리섬유/나일론 6 및 유리직물/나이론 6 복합재료를 제조하였다. 단섬유 microbonding 시험에 의한 유리섬유/나일론 6 복합재료의 계면전단강도와 short-beam 전단시험과 동역학적 열특성 분석 방법을 통하여 유리직물/나일론 6 복합재료의 층간전단강도 및 저장탄성률에 미치는 결합체 농도의 영향을 각각 조사하였다. CTMS 결합제의 농도가 증가할수록 복합재료의 계면특성이 향상되었다. 결합제의 농도 변화에 대한 유리섬유강화 나일론 6 복합재료의 계면전단강도, 층간전단강도, 층간파단양상 그리고 저장탄성률 등 각 특성 변화의 경향이 서로 일치하였다.

표면 기능화된 단일벽 탄소나노튜브/에폭시 복합체의 분산 및 열전도도 특성 (The Effect of Surface Modification on the Disperisibilities and the Thermal Conductivities of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (SWCNT)/Epoxy Composites)

  • 단일벽 탄소나노튜브(single-walled carbon nanotube, SWCNT)의 우수한 열적 특성을 이용하여 에폭시 수지의 열전도도 특성을 향상시키기 위해 SWCNT와 에폭시 수지 복합체를 제작하여 열전도도를 측정하였다. SWCNT에 카보닐기와 아민기를 도입하여 분산도 향상을 유도하였으며 diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)와 bisphenol F (DGEBF) 두 종류의 에폭시 레진에 각각의 SWCNT를 첨가하여 제작한 복합체들은 파단면 분석을 통하여 분산 특성을 관찰하였다. 각 복합체의 분산도는 표면 처리를 거치면서 생성된 극성분자와 에폭시 간의 상호작용으로 인하여 SWCNT를 첨가한 것이 순수한 SWCNT 복합체와 비교하여 높은 분산성을 나타내었다. SWCNT/에폭시 복합체의 열전도도는 DGEBA와 DGEBF 두 종류의 에폭시에서 산처리한 SWCNT 복합체가 가장 높은 값을 가지는 것으로 측정되었다.

  • In this review the methods for production and processing of isolated or agglomerated nanoscale metal particles embedded in organic liquids (nanosuspensions) and polymer matrix composites are elucidated. Emphasis is laid on the techniques of inert gas condensation (IGC) and high pressure sputtering for obtaining highly porous metal powders ("nanopowder") as well as on vacuum evaporation on running liquids for obtaining nanosuspensions. Functional properties and post-processing are outlined in view of applications in the fields of electrically conductive adhesives and anti-microbially active materials for medical articles and consumer goods.mer goods.

  • Deteriorated concrete components are repaired using various repair materials for preventing functional deficiencies. However, the durability performance of these materials is not very well investigate. This study aims to examine the dynamic behavior of R/C beams repaired by Polymer, Polymer-Cement and Cemtitious material through dynamic test. Totally 18repaired R/C beams were tested, and the results from dynamic test of beams repaired with various materials were compared.

  • In this work the novel potential epoxy resins, were synthesized and acrylated. Their structures were confirmed by means of FTIR, $^1H NMR, and^{13}/C NMR$ spectroscopies. Also, we were to note the effect of W curing on functional group changes of VE/UP blend system after UV curing.

부타디엔 고무를 혼합한 폴리우레탄 수지의 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties of Polyurethane Resin Mixed with Butadiene Rubber)

  • Polyurethane resin was especially mixed with polybutadiene rubbers which had each other different molecular structures and functional groups. Liquid and cure properties were tested experimentally for mixtures. Viscosity of mixtures and drying time were influenced by solubility of thinner and reactivity of rubber. Adhesive strength represented maxium at rubber content $15{\times}22%$ (Wt. % ), and rapidly decreased over 25%. DBTDL(di-n-butyltindilaurate) showed the longest stroage stability.
