Concept Analysis of Fear of Recurrence in Breast Cancer Survivors

  • Breast cancer incidence continues to increase, and survival rates are also increasing compared to the past. An increase in breast cancer survivors means an increase in the number of women who return to their life after treatment. These patients feared cancer recurrence, which makes it an important aspect to be studied among breast cancer survivors. Therefore, this study was aimed at analyzing the concept of breast cancer survivors' fear of recurrence. The procedure of concept analysis developed by Walker and Avant (2011) was used to clarify and describe the concept. Studies published from 2007 to 2017 were searched through domestic and foreign electronic databases. Finally, 15 studies were selected and included in analysis. Through concept analysis, the scope of use of the fear of recurrence among breast cancer survivors was confirmed, and concept analysis was performed to confirm the antecedent, consequences, attributes and empirical criteria. Based on the analysis, the attributes of the fear of recurrence among breast cancer survivors included 1) worry about health status, 2) ineffective coping, and 3) possibility of changes. The antecedents of the fear of recurrence among breast cancer survivors were 1) healthcare-related activity, 2) perception of cancer, and 3) perceived severity; the consequences were 1) increase in distress, 2) difficulty in role function, and 3) decrease in the quality of life. This study provides a clear definition of the fear of recurrence among breast cancer survivors, and the results can be applied to improve the understanding of breast cancer survivors who have finished treatment and to help them return to daily life.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 프로이덴탈의 수학화 과정과 일차함수 개념의 교수학적 현상학의 분석을 통하여 학생들이 변화율이 일정한 현상을 표, 그래프, 식으로 표현하는 과정과 일차함수 개념의 심상을 구성하는 과정, 본질을 구성하는 과정을 서술하고 분석하는 것이다. 연구 결과, 학생들은 변화율이 일정한 현상을 표로 표현할 때 합성단위로서의 비를 사용하고, 그래프로 표현할 때 한 학생을 제외하고 직선으로 표현하였다. 식으로 표현할 때 학생별로 주어진 상황, 공변 관점, 대응 규칙을 이용하는 수준의 차이가 있었다. 학생들은 두 변화량 사이의 관계를 곱셈적으로 비교하였고, 그 비율이 하나의 상수가 된다는 것을 교사의 안내에 따라 구성하였다. 특히 시간의 변화량과 거리의 변화량이 하나의 값, 속력이 되는 상황을 통하여 변화율이 일정하다는 심상을 구성하였다. 단, 변화율을 직선의 기울기와 연결하는 데에는 어려움을 겪었으나, 변화율이 일정하다는 심상과 그래프가 직선이며 식의 모양이 y=ax+b (a는 변화율, b는 절편)라는 심상을 정리하고 조직하여 일차함수의 본질(개념)을 구성하였다.

  • This article introduces transfer function model (TFM) with conditional heteroscedasticity where ARCH concept is built into the traditional TFM of Box and Jenkins (1976). Model building strategies such as identification, estimation and diagnostics of the model are discussed and are illustrated via empirical study including simulated data and real data as well. Comparisons with the classical TFM are also made.

Convolution product and generalized analytic Fourier-Feynman transforms

  • We first define the concept of the generalized analytic Fourier-Feynman transforms of a class of functionals on function space induced by a generalized Brownian motion process and study of functionals which plays on important role in physical problem of the form $ F(x) = {\int^{T}_{0} f(t, x(t))dt} $ where f is a complex-valued function on $[0, T] \times R$. We next show that the generalized analytic Fourier-Feynman transform of the convolution product is a product of generalized analytic Fourier-Feynman transform of functionals on functin space.

  • Fatigue life Prediction is investigated analytically based on the fatigue modulus concept. Fatigue modulus degradation rate at any fatigue cycle was assumed as a power function of number of fatigue cycles. New stress function describing the relation of initial fatigue modulus and elastic modulus was used to account for material non-linearity at the first cycle. It was assumed that fatigue modulus at failure is proportional to applied stress level. A new fatigue life prediction equation as a function of applied stress is proposed. The prediction was verified experimentally using cross-ply carbon/epoxy laminate (CFRP) tube.

  • This article presents a new acceleration/deceleration method for real-time control of autonomous mobile robots. In this method, a function which produces the table of acceleration/deceleration in real-time is proposed. This function, while satisfying the basic concept of mechanics, can choose both various ranges of velocity and distance ranges for the selected velocities. Moreover it can control motors with real time. This function is convenient to be realized by programming. and it is faster than other functions because it can be made by assembly language.

  • In this study, we tried to make histo-genetic analyses necessary to identify epistemological obstacles on the function concepts. Historical development on the function concept was analysed. From these analyses, we obtain epistemological obstacles as follows: the perception of changes in the surrounding world, mathematical philosophy, number concepts, variable concepts, relationships between independent variables and dependent variables, concepts of definitions.

  • We purpose a decision model to select the optimal facilities for the Decision Making problems with multiple characteristics(nominal-is-best characteristics, larger-is -better characteristics, smaller- is -better characteristics). Using this model, concept of the loss function is used in this comprehensive method of for select the optimal preferred facilities. To solve the issue on the optimal preferred facilities for multiple characteristics, this study propose the loss function with cross-product terms among the characteristics and derived range of the coefficients of the terms.
