Objective: Participation restrictions are serious problems that stroke survivors experience while reintegrating into family, work, community, and social situations after participating in rehabilitation programs. The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting participation in activities of daily living (ADL), as well as social and leisure activities of individuals with hemiparetic stroke. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The study involved 96 participants who were diagnosed with a first stroke 6 months before the study (58 men, 38 women; $60.3{\pm}14.3years$). The Berg Balance Scale, Modified Barthel Index, Manual Function test, and Activity Card Sort were used to assess static and dynamic balance function, upper limb function, level of independence, and their level of participation within the community. A regression analysis was used to identify the influence of factors affecting participation in ADL, social and recreational activities. Results: The Activity Card Sort scores were significantly affected by the Manual Function test and Modified Barthel Index scores (p<0.05). Participation in leisure activities was affected by the level of independence. Participation in social activities was affected by the balance function and level of independence of the participants. Conclusions: The results of this study have shown that participation restrictions are affected by upper limb function, balance function, and the level of independence in individuals with hemiparetic stroke.
This paper presents VSCOPF(Votage Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow) algorithm based on SLP(Successive Linear Programming) to interpret the large scale system. Voltage stability index used to this paper is L index to be presented by function form. The objective function consists of load shedding cost minimization. Voltage stability indicator constraint was incorporated in traditional OPF formulation. as well as the objective function and constraints are linearlized and the optimal problem is performed by SLP(Successive Linear Programming). In this paper, the effect of voltage stability limit constraint is showed in the optimal load curtailment problems. As a result, an optimal solution is calculated to minimize load shedding cost guaranteeing voltage security level. Numerical examples using IEEE 39-bus system is also presented to illustrate the capabilities of the proposed formulation.
This study aims to empirically identify the effect of spatial accessibility, based on travel, on housing prices in the Korean capital region. More specifically, it has two research purposes: First, investigating the effect of comprehensive spatial accessibility, based on road network and actual trips from origin to destination, on average apartment price (Korean Won per square meter) at the level of Eup, Myeon and Dong; Second, identifying better accessibility index between Hansen's and Kalogirou and Foley's ones. The former represents a road-based travel time decay function with destination trips, while the latter is a function with origin trips as well as destination ones. The study employs spatial economic models considering spatial auto-correlative relationship as an appropriate methodology with such control independent indicators as population density, road density, educational environment and distances from CBDs. Analysis results demonstrate that spatial accessibility, based on road network and actual trips from origin to destination, has a statistically significant impacts on housing price in the region. Our empirical evidence proves that the Hansen index is more appropriate than the other in estimating housing price impacts.

In this paper, a sound quality indices for the evaluation of vehicle intake and exhaust noise were developed through a correlation analysis of objective measurement data and subjective evaluation data. At first, intake and exhaust orifice noise were measured at the wide-open throttle sweep condition. And then, acoustic transfer function between intake orifice noise and interior noise at the steady state condition was measured. Also, acoustic transfer function for exhaust system was measured as the same method. Simultaneously, subjective evaluation was carried out by the paired comparison and semantic differential method by 27 engineers. Next, the correlation analysis between the psycho-acoustic parameters derived from the measured data and the subjective evaluation was performed. The most critical factor was determined and the corresponding sound quality index for the intake and exhaust noise was obtained from the multiple factor regression method. At last, the effectiveness of the proposed index was investigated.
Purpose: In this paper, we developed a reliability index (RI) to efficiently compare reliability of products based on the design, development and production information such as reliability tests, quality, product life-cycle management. RI also can be applied to reliability prediction of a novel product as well as comparison evaluation among existing products. Methods: For evaluating RI, we proposed evaluation process which is composed of five steps. Target modules are selected based on warranty data and correlation analysis. Scores of selected target modules are calculated by scoring function. Finally, weights of RI model are determined by optimization method. Results: This paper presented an empirical analysis based on failure data of mobile devices. In this case study, we demonstrated that there is a direct correlation between evaluated RI and field failure probability of each product. Conclusion: We proposed the index for comprehensive and effective assessment of product reliability level. From the procedure of this study, we expected to be applied for reliability estimation of novel products and deduction of field failure-related factors.

Optimal design parameters are estimated from the sensitivity function and performance index variation. Suspension design modification for performance improvement and basic materials for practical applications are presented. The linear quarter model of a vehicle suspension is analyzed in order to represent the utilities of sensitivity analysis, and sensitivity function is determined in the frequency domain. The change of frequency response function is predicted, which depends on the design parameter variation and the property is verified by computer simulation. As an investigation results of sensitivity function for the vibrational amplitude of sprung mass to road profile input, it is shown that the most sensitive parameters are the suspension damping and the suspension stiffness. In order to identify the effects of these two parameters to the performance of suspension system, the performance index variation according to the changes of parameters is considered and then optimal design parameters are determined. It is verified that the system response is improved noticeably in the both of frequency and time domain after the design modification with the optimal parameters.
Discharge plans should be considered during rehabilitation depending on the location specified by the patients. This study aims to compare the demographics and rehabilitation function according to discharge location in people with rehabilitation one month after discharge. Among 300 discharged patients, 146 were discharged to their homes, 154 were transferred to facilities such as nursing homes. The results showed that rehabilitation function that scored using the modified Barthel Index were different according to discharge location. That is, the modified Barthel Index scored greater in home discharged patients than counter group. However, the home discharged patient's physical function and daily activities showed scores that required rehabilitation. Differentiated strategies should be needed for home and facility visit rehabilitation programs for rehabilitated patients.

The goal of this study was to analyze landslide susceptibility using two different models and compare the results. For this purpose, a landslide inventory map was produced from a field survey, and the inventory was divided into two groups for training and validation, respectively. Sixteen landslide conditioning factors were considered. The relationships between landslide occurrence and landslide conditioning factors were analyzed using the FR (Frequency Ratio) and EBF (Evidential Belief Function) models. The LSI (Landslide Susceptibility Index) maps that were produced were validated using the ROC (Relative Operating Characteristics) curve and the SCAI (Seed Cell Area Index). The AUC (Area under the ROC Curve) values of the FR and EBF LSI maps were 80.6% and 79.5%, with prediction accuracies of 72.7% and 71.8%, respectively. Additionally, in the low and very low susceptibility zones, the FR LSI map had higher SCAI values compared to the EBF LSI map, as high as 0.47%p. These results indicate that both models were reasonably accurate, however that the FR LSI map had a slightly higher accuracy for landslide susceptibility mapping in the study area.

Sustainability index was calculated to determine the best management for rice productivity under long-term inorganic fertilizer management's practices. It is based on nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index related to sustainability as soil function. Indicators for calculating sustainability index were selected by the comparison of soil properties and rice response in paddy soil with fertilization. Total twenty two indicators were determined to assess nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index in order to compare the effect of different fertilization. The indices were applied to assess the sustainability with different inorganic fertilizer treatments such as control, N, NK, NP, NPK, NPK+Si, and NPK+Compost. The long-term application of compost with NPK was the highest sustainability index value because it increased nutrient index, microbial index and crop index. The use of chemical fertilizers resulted in poor soil microbial index and crop index, but the treatments like NP, NPK, and NPK+Si were maintained sustainability in paddy soil. These results indicate that application of organic and chemical fertilizer could be a good management to improve rice sustainability in paddy soil.
In this study, a number of distance-dependent competition indices on tree-level which incorporate the tree sizes and distances to competitors, and traditional stand-level density measures were estimated from the data compiled with position-dependent survey in a Pinus densiflora stand. The performance of the estimated competition indices was examined by comparing the relationship with the diameter growth, and a dbh growth function, in which the competition index is considered as a one of influence factors, are developed. In the searching method of competing trees, the competition index estimated with $30^{\circ}$ competition interrupting angle showed the highest correlation with the annual dbh growth, while the expanding the competing zone distance had no significant effect on the performance of competition index in estimating annual dbh growth. The most of the examined stand-level competition indices, based on distance-dependent single-tree competition indices, were evaluated to describe similarly the stand competition status. As a result of partial correlation analysis in which the effect of age and site index are eliminated, Alemdag's mean competition index and relative spacing index were determined to have the highest correlation with dbh. The relative spacing index, which can be easily measured in field without measuring the position of individual trees, was considered to be a better suited one for estimating mean dbh of a stand. Among distance-dependent competition indices on tree-level, Hegyi's competition index showed the best performance in their correlation with annual dbh growth, if eliminated the effect of site index and dbh. This enabled to derive the following annual dbh growth function of individual trees which incorporate age, dominant height, dbh and Hegyi's competition index as influence factors : $$dbh^{\prime}=3.975362676{\cdot}age^{-1.099274613}{\cdot}ho^{0.199893990}{\cdot}dbh^{0.269430865}{\cdot}HgCI^{-0.353643587}$$ This function is coincided to the growth principle in which site index has a positive effect on the annual dbh growth, while high age or competition causes to reduce the annual dbh growth, and can be used as a function in single tree growth model.
