  • In this paper, the extended finite difference time domain(FDTD) algorithm is applied to carry out full-wave analysis of a microwave amplifier circuit. The active device included in the amplifier is modeled by equivalent current sources. Equivalent current sources are characterizing interaction between electronmagnetic waves and active devices and can be directly incorporated into the FDTD algorithm. To confirm this analysis, an amplifier is implemented. The FDTD simulation shows good agreement with measured results.

  • Regional CRL(certificate revocation list) in vehicular communications is to partition Full CRL into several small CRLs according to geographic location to keep the size of individual CRLs with smaller. However, since a Regional CRL includes vehicle's revoked certificates within its administrative region, it has to know vehicle' location. For this, how to know vehicle' location effectively corresponding to every region represents a major challenge. This paper proposes a Regional CRL scheme which is envisioned to achieve vehicle's location and to make regional CRLs according to vehicles current location efficiently. The scheme is based on the short-lived pseudonyms defined by WAVE standard. It also acquires issued pseudonyms, vehicle's id and region information whenever a vehicle initiates pseudonyms refill after that, utilizes them to create and distribute the Regional CRL. To keep location privacy-preserving for vehicles, the scheme uses the blockchain technology in the network. The analysis results show that it reduces CRL size and database query time for finding revoked certificates sharply in the vehicle's on-board unit.

  • The 4 by 4 series slot sub-array antenna is proposed using substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) technology for 35 GHz of Ka band application. The proposed antenna is realized with multi-layered structure for compact size and easy integration features. 4 by 4 radiating slots are arrayed on top PCB with equal spacing and the feeding SIWs are arranged on middle and bottom PCBs for uniform power distribution. The multi-layered antenna is realized using RT/Duroid 5880 that has dielectric constant of 2.2 and the total antenna size is $750.76mm^2$. The individual parts such as radiators and feeding networks are simulated using full-wave simulator CST MWS. Furthermore, the total sub-array antenna also fabricated and measured the electrical performances such as impedance bandwidth under the criteria of -10 dB(490 MHz), maximum gain(18.02 dBi), sidelobe level(SLL)(-11.0 dB), and cross polarization discrimination (XPD)(-20.16 dB).

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of ILCTL(inductively loaded compact transmission line) that is new type of compact transmission line. ILCTL was realized by periodic narrow transverse slits working as series inductances in microstrip line. And compact hybrid rat-race couplers were designed by using the proposed ILCTL. The microstrip line hybrid rat-race coupler with silts of 8 per quarter wavelength at 1.8 GHz has reduced size of 60% as compared with conventional one and it is proved by simulation of EM solver with full-wave analysis based on MoM and measurements.

  • The development of efficient wearable antennas is required to implement short range body-centric wireless communication links for various internet of thing applications. We present simulation and measurement results of conductive-fiber-based wearable antennas which can comfortably fabricated directly on usual clothing materials. The proposed antenna is a form of a rectangular patch antenna designed by weaving conductive fibers on a felt substrate. A full-wave electromagnetic simulation tool is used to investigate the antenna performance such as antenna impedance, resonant frequency, and radiation efficiency. Parametric studies show that the radiation efficiency increases from 67.5% to 70.4% by widening the gap between conductive fibers from 0.25mm to 3mm. This implies a wearable antenna with good radiation efficiency can be designed despite of less portion of conductive fibers on the antenna. The simulation results are also verified by measured results with fabricated antennas.

  • This paper deals with accuracy of accumulated fatigue damage estimation using stochastic fatigue analysis method based on Rayleigh PDF. From full scale measurement data on an 8100TEU container vessel, zero-order spectral moments for wave- and vibration-induced energy spectral densities are determined on the probability level of 99%. 80 simulation cases in total are prepared according to the variation of ratio of zero-order spectral moments and center frequency of vibration ESD. By using inverse Fourier transformation and rainflow cycle counting for the combined ESD of wave and vibration, exact fatigue damages are derived. Fatigue damages in frequency domain based on Rayleigh PDF show large conservativeness compared to exact fatigue damages in times domain. The main cause of the excessive conservativeness is analyzed by two aspects: ratio of zero crossing and peak frequencies and ratio of initial zero order spectral moments and zero order spectral moments from rainflow stress range distributions. Finally, a guideline of applicability of Rayleigh PDF is proposed for wide band processes.

  • Analysis of an indoor propagation channel has conventionally used the ray-tracing method. But, in this paper, we had modelling the channel for three dimensional indoor structure by the finite difference time domain method for three dimensional full wave analysis. An excitation signal of the FDTD method used plane wave. The plane wave was excited using the total field/scattered field method. And absorbing boundary condition used the perfectly matched layer method with 7 layers. An living room for the simulation of indoor channel modeling is surrounded the wall that be composed of the wood, the conductor, the glass and concrete. When there are furniture in the living room or not, it were simulated, respectively. As simulation results, we could identify the fading effect of multipath at indoor propagation environment, calculated mean excess delay and rms delay spread for the receiver design.

  • Objectives This review was conducted to evaluate effectiveness and safety of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis. Methods By December 2021, 11 electronic databases were reviewed with the key words 'extracorporeal shock wave' and '(acupuncture OR acupoint OR meridian)'. This key words was set up to increase the sensitivity of the search. After the search, adhesive capsulitis study was selected based on the title and abstract and then included after full-texts were read. Results Five randomized controlled trials were eligible in our inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis of 3 studies showed positive results for the using ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis compared with the control group on efficancy rate and range of shoulder flexion. Conclusions Some studies showed ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory were statistically effective to adhesive capsulitis. But the evidence is limited due to the defective design of the included randomized controlled trials (RCTs). So use of ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis has limited evidence. More well-designed RCTs are required to provide clearer evidence for this claim.

  • The KVLCC2 and its modified hull form were investigated in regular head waves using Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) methods. The modified KVLCC2 (named KWP-bow KVLCC2) is designed for reducing wave reflection from the bow. Firstly, the original KVLCC2 is studied for verification of the present code and methodology and the computed time history of total resistance and 2DOF motions (heave and pitch) for the selected two wave length conditions are directly compared with the results obtained from KRISO towing tank experiment under the identical condition. The predicted added resistance, heave and pitch motion RAOs show relatively good agreement with the experimental results. Secondly, the comparison of performance in waves between KVLCC2 and KWP-bow KVLCC2 is carried out. We confirmed that newly designed hull form shows better performances in all the range of wave length conditions through both the computation and the experiment. The present URANS method can capture the difference of performance in waves of the two hull forms without any special treatment for short wave length conditions. It can be identified that KWP-bow KVLCC2 gives about 8% of energy saving in sea state 5 condition.

  • The conventional geometry of a plate microstrip resonator is made up of a single metallic patch, which is printed on a monolayer dielectric substrate. Its arrangement is simple and easy to make, but it is limited in its functional abilities. Many searches have been realized to improve the bandwidth and the gain of the microstrip resonators. Among the various configurations proposed in the open literature, the stacked geometry seems to be very promising. By appropriate design, it is able to provide the operation in dual frequency mode, wide bandwidth enough and high gain. The theoretical investigations of structures composed of two stacked anti-reflection coatings, enhanced metallic coatings are available in the literature, however, for the stacked configurations involving three metallic coatings or more, not to exact or approximate analysis was conducted due to the complexity of the structure.
