  • The spray characteristics of dual orifice injector were investigated under two different fuels through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system. In this experiment, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density and viscosity.

  • A cycle simulation of 4 cycle spark ignition engine using methanol-water blend as a fuel has been developed for study of prediction of power, specific fuel consumption, mean effective pressure and thermal efficiency. One-dimensional flow model for intake process and thermodynamic model for combustion process were selected. After, performance test was made with conventional engine which was modified in consideration of fuel properties. And computational results by simulation have been compared with experimental results. As the agreement between computational and experimental results was good, prediction of engine performance by was possible.

  • For the safe transportation of SNF and licensing, the integrity of SNF should be evaluated carefully. Researches to obtain the data for SNF cladding properties, i.e. impact toughness, DBTT (hydride behavior) when evaluating transportation of SNF, shall be precisely implemented by simulating the condition of real SNF to the hilt, accordingly.

  • 본 연구에서는 열가소성 고분자인 폴리아미드 6,6, 전도성 충전제인 흑연과 카본블랙을 이용하여 높은 기계적 물성 및 전기적 특성, 우수한 기체 내투과성을 동시에 갖는 연료전지 분리판용 복합체에 대하여 연구하였다. 성형압력과 충전제의 함량이 복합체의 물성에 미치는 영향을 굴곡강도, 전기전도도, 기체투과도 등을 측정하여 살펴보았다. 복합체 내의 흑연함량이 증가함에 따라 전기전도도는 증가하였으며, 굴곡강도는 80 wt% 일때 최대 값을 나타내었다. 굴곡강도는 $400\;kgf/cm^2$의 성형압력에서부터 일정한 값을 나타냈으며, 전기전도도는 압력에 큰 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 흑연에 카본블랙이 첨가된 경우 전기적 특성이 크게 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 산에 침전된 복합체의 기계적 성질은 감소함을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this study, sulfonated PAES block copolymers have been synthesized via nucleophilic substitution reaction. Hydrophobic oligomer was prepared using 2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene and bis(4-chlorophenyl) sulfone, whereas hydrophilic oligomer was prepared using sulfonated bis(4-chlorophenyl) sulfone and bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfone. The chemical structure of polymers was analyzed by $^1H$ NMR, FT-IR and GPC. The thermal properties of polymers were measured by TGA and DSC. The oxidative stability of membranes was investigated by Fenton's test. Furthermore, the proton conductivity of membrane was found to be 26 mS/cm at $90^{\circ}C$. All physiochemical properties suggest that fabricated membrane have a great potential for applications in PEMFC.

Preparation of Bipolar Plate for Fuel Cell Using CNT/Graphite Nano-Composite

  • Bipolar plates require some specific properties such as electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, chemical stability, and low permeability for the fuel cell application. This study investigated the effects of carbon nanotube (CNT) contents and process conditions of hot press molding on the electrical and physical properties using CNT 3~7 wt% added graphite nano-composites in the curing temperatures range of 140~$200^{\circ}C$ and pressure of 200~300 kg/$cm^2$. Bulk density, hardness and flexural strength increased with increasing CNT contents, curing pressure and temperature. With the 7 wt% CNT added noncomposite, the electrical resistance improved by 30% and the flexural strength increased by 25% as compared to that without CNT at the temperature of $160^{\circ}C$ and pressure of 300 kg/$cm^2$. These properties were close to the DOE reference criteria as bulk resistance of 13 $m{\Omega}cm$ and tensile strength of 515 kg/$cm^2$.

  • 석유의 누출로 인해 토양과 지하수 오염이 점차 증가되면서, 토양환경에 대한 중요성이 점차 늘고 있다. 토양오염은 다른 환경오염에 비해 정화비용이 비싸며, 긴 정화기간이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 토양오염을 발생시킬 수 있는 대표적 석유제품에 대한 물성분석과 함께 토양에 누유시킨 뒤, 석유계 총탄화수소화합물의 스펙트럼 패턴을 분석함으로써 유종들의 특성을 분석하였다. 이는 추후 석유에 의한 토양오염 발생 시, 어떤 석유제품에 의한 오염인지 쉽게 판단이 가능할 것이다.
