중량선과기(重量選果機)의 중량감지부(重量感知部) 개선(改善)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Development of Weight Sensing Unit of Fruit Weight Grader Using Load Cell)

  • In Korea, fruit grading has been mainly done manually, and manual grading depends on human sense. Thus it is subjected to human error and is not always as consistent as would be desired. Therefore, a study on the development of fruit grader was initiated to improve the consistency of fruit grading. The sensitivity for fruit weight of the conventional spring type weight grader has a tendency to decrease by physical characteristics of spring which is used as a weight sensing unit. This study was carried out to develop weight measuring device for establishing the base of weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader. This device consists of a weight sensor using load cell, data acquisition system, and a microcomputer containing program to calculate fruit weight. The weight measuring device using load cell was developed to increase sensitivity of fruit weight. The result of this study showed that the weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader contributed to the improvement of performance of weight measuring device.

'후지' 사과 과실의 형태 결정 요인 간 상관 (Correlation among Conformation Parameters in 'Fuji' Apple Fruit)

  • 경북 안동과 영양 지역 과수원에서 적숙기에 수확한 '후지' 사과 과실을 중량별로 분류한 후, 과중, 종자 수, 종자 중량과의 관계를 분석하고 이들 요인과 과형지수 및 기형지수와의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 과실당 평균 종자수와 무게는 안동과수원의 경우 8.9개, 종자 중량 0.64g이었고 영양 과수원은 6.3개, 0.47g이었다. 두 과수원의 조사자료를 종합하여 분석한 결과, 과중은 종자 중량과 정의 상관관계가 있었던 반면 종자의 수와는 상관관계가 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 과형지수는 종자 수나 종자 중량과 미미한 상관관계를 보였으나 과중과 정의 상관관계를 보였다. 과실의 기형지수는 종자수가 많고 종자 중량이 큰 안동과수원 과실에서 낮은 경향을 보였으며 종자의 수 또는 종자 중량과 고도로 유의한 부의 상관관계를 보였다.

딸기 '설향' 품종의 화방별 과실 착과 순서에 따른 과중 및 당도 변화 (Changes in Fruit Weight and Soluble Solids Content of 'Seolhyang' Strawberry by Fruit Setting Order of the Flower Cluster)

  • 본 연구는 딸기 '설향' 품종의 화방별 착과순서에 따른 과중 및 당도의 변화를 조사하여 각 화방별로 착과량 조절 기준의 타당성을 검정하고자 하였다. 1화방은 2, 3화방에 비하여 착과수, 과중, 당도, 대과성 과실의 비율이 높았다. 동일 화방 내에서도 상위 과실은 하위에 착과된 과실보다 과중이 증가하였고, 당도도 높았다. 과실의 과중이 증가할수록 당도가 증가하여 과중과 당도는 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였다. 설향 품종의 각 화방별 적정 착과수는 1화방 9~10개, 2화방 6개, 3화방 4개, 4화방 3개 정도 착과시키는 것이 상품수량을 증가시킬 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

오미자(Schisandra chinensis)의 리그난 함량과 생육특성 간의 상관관계 연구 (Study on the Correlation between the Growth Characteristics and Lignans Contents of Schisandra chinensis)

  • Schisandra chinensis is a fruit which is called Omija in South Korea. The Korean word Omija means "five flavors" (sweet, spicy, sour, bitter, and salty). The aim of his study was to investigate the correlation between growth characteristics and lignans (gomisin A, gomisin N, schisandrin) contents of Schisandra chinensis. The method for determining lignans was validated by measuring the linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), precision and accuracy using UPLC-UV. Growth characteristics of S. chinensis such as number of fruits per fruit bunch, length of fruit bunch, width of fruit bunch, fresh weight of fruit bunch, length of fruit, width of fruit, fresh weight of fruit, fresh weight of 30 fruits, and sugar contents of fruit were measured. From the results of correlation analysis, it was found that the contents of lignans showed a significantly negative correlation with fresh weight and sugar contents of fruit. These results will be used to study for quality control of S. chinensis fruit.

과일 소비에 미치는 음식 관여도의 영향을 매개하는 요인 평가 (Measuring the Factors Mediating the Effect of Food Involvement on Fruit Consumption)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the causal relationships among food involvement, health, mood, convenience, sensory appeal, weight control, and fruit consumption. A total of 290 questionnaires were completed. A structural equation model was used to measure the causal effects of the constructs, and the structural analysis results for the data indicated an excellent model fit. The effects of food involvement on health, mood, convenience, sensory appeal, weight control, and fruit consumption were statistically significant. As expected, health, mood, and weight control had significant effects on fruit consumption. Moreover, food involvement had a significant indirect effect on fruit consumption through health, mood, convenience, sensory appeal and weight control. For the future development and testing of conceptual models that integrate the relationships among personality traits, food choice motives, and fruit consumption, this study may approach a deeper understanding of the complex relationships among fruit consumption behavior-related variables. Greater understanding of these complex relationships can improve the managerial diagnosis of the problem and opportunities for different marketing strategies, including fruit production and fruit product development and marketing communications.

Changes of Physicochemical Quality in Hardy Kiwifruit (Actinidia arguta) during Storage at Different Temperature

  • The effect of storage temperature and the storage period of hardy kiwifruits on the fruit firmness, soluble solids and fruit weight were studied in this work. The investigation was carried out on the Sae-Han cultivar of Actinidia arguta. It has an edible smooth skin and contains high amounts of sugar and vitamin C (ascorbic acid). In this research, the measurement of fruit firmness, soluble solids, and fruit weight were carried out at various temperatures (5, 10, 15, and 20℃) during 14 days. Fruit firmness rapidly decreased and soluble solids content increased at 15 and 20℃. We also investigated the correlation between fruit firmness and soluble solids content. There was a strong correlation between fruit firmness and soluble solids content. That means that fruit firmness affect the soluble solids content of hardy kiwifruit.

Y자 수형의 '신고'와 '황금배'에서 착과량 조절에 따른 과실 특성 변화 (Changes of Fruit Characteristics by Fruit Load Control in 'Niitaka' and 'Whangkeumbae' Pear Trees on Y-trellis Training System)

  • '신고'와 '황금배'의 과실 특성간 관계를 파악하고 착과량 조절에 의한 과실의 특성 변화를 알아보고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. '신고'는 평균 과중이 672.0g이었으며 601-750g의 과실이 33.8%로 가장 많았으며 '황금배'는 평균 과중 477.5g이었고 401-600g의 과실이 72.5% 생산되었다. '신고'는 300g 이하부터 1kg 이상까지 넓고 고르게 분포하였으며, '황금배'는 생산되는 과중 분포가 좁았다. '신고'의 당도와 당산비는 과중, 종경 및 횡경과 정의 상관을 나타내었으나, '황금배'는 과중과 횡경에서만 당도와 낮은 상관을 나타내었다. 각 품종의 과중별 품질은 '신고'의 경우 451g 이하의 과실은 당도가 낮고 400g 이하의 과실은 경도가 낮았으며, '황금배'는 과중에 따른 품질 차이를 보이지 않았다. '신고'의 과실 크기는 과육의 크기에 영향을 받았으며 과중이 클수록 과육 부위가 차지하는 비중이 높았다. '신고'에서 약하게 적과하면 과실의 과중, 당도와 당산비가 낮았고 경도가 높았으며, '황금배'는 적과가 약한 경우 과중과 당도가 낮았다. '신고'는 모든 적과 수준에서 처리에서 과중이 클수록 당도가 높았으며 특히 '적과 약'에서는 450g 이하의 과실 또한 당도가 낮아 품질이 불량하였고, '황금배'는 모든 적과수준에서 과중에 따른 품질차이는 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 '신고'는 적과수준에 따라 과중이 작은 과실의 생산이 가능하지만 품질 감소가 불가피하여 중소과 생산은 어려울 것으로 판단되었으나, '황금배'는 품질의 하락없이 적과 수준 조절을 통한 중소과 생산이 가능할 것으로 기대되었다.

참다래 과실의 생장 억제에 따른 과실 생장기의 탄수화물의 농도변화 (Change in Carbohydrate Concentration in Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) while Fruit Growth Was Restricted)

  • 본 연구에서는 참대라 과실의 생장을 직경 43mm와 52mm의 아크릴파이프 처리로 억제시켜, 과실 생장에 따른 과실조직의 수분 함량과 건물중 변화에 대한 과실의 전당 및 전분 농도를 조사하였다. 과실의 생체중, 건물중과 수분 함량은 파이프 처리에 의해 감소하였으나, 과실이 비대함에 따라 일정한 비율로 증가하였다. 직경 43 mm 아클릴파이프처리 과실은 과실 생장 제3기 동안 수분 함량 증가가 정지되었고 과실의 수확기 적기에는 건물률이 다른 처리보다 높았다. 당농도는 아크릴파이크 처리의 과실에 있어, 일시적으로 증가한 후에 무처리 과실의 농도까지 감소하였다. 그때에 전분 농도와 건물률은 처리간에 차이가 없었다. 그러므로, 아크릴파이프로 처리로 과실의 비대가 억제된 과실의 당 농도는 과실의 수분함량 감소에 따른 것으로 생각되었다.

Variation for Fruit Yield and Quality Characteristics in Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Germplasm Collection

  • Fifty-five sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) germplasm from the Rural Development Administration (RDA) were analyzed for their fruit yield and fruit quality characters, including fruit weight, fruit size, pericarp thickness, total soluble content, fruit lobe, fruit shape, fruit surface and fruit color. Fruit yield per plot ranged from 200 g to 8150 g (average, 1884 g). Fruit fresh-weight per fruit ranged from 27.3 g to 200.0 g with an average of 97.2 g. Fruit length varied from 4.0 cm to 16.2 cm (average, 9.6 cm). Fruit length-to-width ratio ranged from 0.6 to 3.0 with an average 1.7. The fruit pericarp thickness ranged from 1.8 mm to 10.7 mm (average, 4.8 mm). Total soluble content was the highest ($8.5^{\circ}Brix$) in K156286 and the lowest ($5.3^{\circ}Brix$) in K156208 with the average value $6.7^{\circ}Brix$. Fruit lobes numbers varied from 2 to 4. Blocky, triangular, elongated, rectangular and round fruit shape identified among the sweet pepper accessions. Fruit surface varied from smooth to wrinkle and fruit color also varied. The presence of variability in fruit yield and quality traits within the sweet pepper genotypes can be utilized to develop high yielding sweet pepper variety with better fruit quality characters.

동계전정 지연이 '후지'/M.9 사과나무의 신초생장 및 과실품질에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Delaying Winter Pruning on Shoot Growth and Fruit Quality of 'Fuji'/M.9 Apple Tree)

  • BACKGROUND: The freezing injury by pruning can be reduced by suspending pruning work when severe cold weather (-23 to -49℃) is forecast. Minimum air temperature of the study area, Gunwi region at February 3, 2012 was -21.9℃, and the subzero temperature continued until April 8, 2012. This study was conducted in two years to investigate the effect of delaying winter pruning until full bloom on shoot growth and fruit quality of 'Fuji'/M.9 apple trees. METHODS AND RESULTS: The time of pruning were March 26 for dormant, April 3 for bud break, and May 2 for full bloom. The winter pruning at full bloom significantly reduced fruit weight for two years compared with the control (winter pruning at dormant), and shoot growth was reduced only in the following year. There was no significant effect of delaying winter pruning at bud break on soluble solid content, fruit red color, return bloom, and pruning weight for two years compared with the control. CONCLUSION(S): These results indicated the delaying winter pruning at bud break of 'Fuji'/M.9 apple tree did not offer any disadvantage over comparable dormant pruning, since the fruit quality was not affected. The delayed pruning at full bloom resulted in decreased fruit weight, though shoot growth, fruit quality, and return bloom were not affected by the delayed pruning. So, the delayed pruning should be considered carefully only for the fruit tree orchards in diseases.
