자하거 약침과 추나 요법으로 호전된 동결견 치험 3례 (Three Cases of Frozen Shoulder Treated with Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture and Chuna Manual Therapy)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of hominis placenta pharmacopuncture and chuna manual therapy in patients with frozen shoulder. Methods: Frozen shoulder was treated with hominis placenta pharmacopuncture and chuna manual therapy, and the overall shoulder pain was measured by visual analog scale (VAS), and the range of motion (ROM) of shoulder movement was evaluated by measuring passive abduction and external rotation and active hand to shoulder blade test. Results: After the treatment, overall shoulder pain was reduced, and ROM of passive abduction and external rotation was increased. Conclusions: The above results show that hominis placenta pharmacopuncture and chuna manual therapy can be used as an effective treatment for frozen shoulder.

직접이식을 위한 소 체외 수정란의 동결 융해후 생존성 및 수태율에 미치는 영향 (Pregnancy and Survival Rate of In Vitro Fertilized Bovine Embryos Frozen for Direct Transfer)

  • This experiments were carried out to investigate the viabilities and the pregnancy rate of frozen-thawed IVF bovine embryos in various media, cryoprotectants and age of embryos produced. Hanwoo oocyte were collected in size of 2~7mm follicles, matured for 20~22hrs at 38.5$^{\circ}C$ in 5% CO2 incubator and then in vitro fertilized with Hanwoo semen. Blastocysts or more developed embryos at Day 7, 8 and 9 were frozen in 1.5 or 1.8M ethylene glycol. Viability of frozen thawed IVF embryos were identified the reformation of blastocoele after thawing and culture for 24~48 hours at 38.5$^{\circ}C$ in 5% CO2 incubator. Production rate of Hanwoo IVF embryos in TCM 199 and CR1aa ws 21.3%(39/183) and 28.1%(41/146), respectively. The viability of frozen thawed IVF embryos was higher rate in 1.8M ethylene glycol and Day 7 embryos than that in 1.5M and Day 8.53 cows out of 100 Hanwoo receipients transfered IVF embryos were pregnant and twin production rate was 26.3%.

생리식염수 냉동거즈가 비강수술 환자의 갈증 및 구강상태에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Frozen Gauze with Normal Saline on Thirst and Oral Health of the Patients with Nasal Surgery)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of frozen gauze with normal saline on thirst and the oral health of patients with nasal surgery. Methods: A quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group pretest-post test design was used. Participants (n=52) received either gauze frozen with normal saline (n=26), or wet gauze (n=26). The subjective thirst level and oral health of the participants were assessed before the intervention, 30 minutes after the first intervention, 30 minutes after the second intervention, and 30 minutes after the third intervention. Results: After oral hygiene was provided twice, the thirst level was improved in patients receiving the gauze frozen with normal saline. After oral hygiene was provided a third time, the thirst level was improved in patients receiving the gauze frozen with normal saline. Conclusion: Gauze frozen with normal saline can be effective for oral hygiene in reducing the thirst level and improving the oral health in nasal surgery patients.

Frozen Orbits Construction for a Lunar Solar Sail

  • Frozen orbit is an attractive option for orbital design owing to its characteristics (its argument of pericenter and eccentricity are kept constant on an average). Solar sails are attractive solutions for massive and expensive missions. However, the solar radiation pressure effect represents an additional force on the solar sail that may greatly affect its orbital behavior in the long run. Thus, this force must be included as a perturbation force in the dynamical model for more accuracy. This study shows the calculations of initial conditions for a lunar solar sail frozen orbit. The disturbing function of the problem was developed to include the lunar gravitational field that is characterized by uneven mass distribution, third body perturbation, and the effect of solar radiation. An averaging technique was used to reduce the dynamical problem to a long period system. Lagrange planetary equations were utilized to formulate the rate of change of the argument of pericenter and eccentricity. Using the reduced system, frozen orbits for the Moon sail orbiter were constructed. The resulting frozen orbits are shown by two 3Dsurface (semi-major, eccentricity, inclination) figures. To simplify the analysis, we showed inclination-eccentricity contours for different values of semi-major axis, argument of pericenter, and values of sail lightness number.

어육에 접종한 위생지표세균의 동결저장중 변화 (Survival of Sanitary Indicative Bacteria Inoculated in Fish Muscle Homogenates during Freezing and Frozen Storage)

  • This experiment was designed to evaluate effects of freezing and frozen storage on survival of sanitary indicative bacteria in seafoods. Culture of bacteria such as Escherichia coli type I, Citrobacter freundii type I, Klebsiella aerogenes type I and Streptococcus faecalis was inoculated into homogenates of pollack, shrimp, and sardine frozen in a contact plate freezer at $-40^{\circ}C$ and chest freezer at $-20^{\circ}C$, stored at $-20^{\circ}C$, and then survival of the inoculated bacteria was determined over a period of 95 days. Coliform group was highly sensitive to freezing and frozen storage showing survival of about $2\%$ after 95 days of frozen storage at $-20^{\circ}C$, whereas Streptococcus faecalis was relatively resistant with $20\%$ survival rate. The sanitary indicative bacteria count was rapidly decreased in the early stage of frozen storage revealing 90 to $95\%$ loss of coliform group and 40 to $70\%$ loss in case of Streptococcus faecalis after 10 days storage. In determining recovery rate, most probable number (MPN) method gave more reproducible recovery of the tested strain than did the selected agar plate method.

돼지 수정란의 급속동결시 내동제의 종류와 농도, 평형시간 및 융해온도에 다른 생존성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Effects of Kinds and Concentration of Cryoprotectants, Equilibration Time and Thawing Temperature on the Survival Rate of Rapidly Frozen Porcine Embryos)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of concentration, kinds of cryoprotectants, equilibration time, optimum thawing temperature on the survival rate of rapidly frozen porcine embryos. The porcine embryos following dehydration by cryoprotectants containing sucrose were directly plunged into liquid nitrogen and thawed in 30, 35 or 37$^{\circ}C$ water bath, Survival rate was defined as development rate on in vitro culture or FDA-test. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The high survival rate of porcine frozen embryos after rapidly thawed in freezing medium was attained 2.0M DMSO, 2.0M glycerol, 2.0M propanediol, 1.5M ethyleneglycol. 2. The high survival rate of porcine frozen embryos after rapidly thawed in freezing medium was obtained using single cryoprotectant(16.6~40.0%) than mixed cryoprotectants(12.5~33.3%). 3. The eqilibration time on the survival rate of rapidly thawed porcine frozen embryos was attained after short period of time(15.0~33.3%) in the freezing medium higher than long period of time(9.10~30.0%). 4. The thawing temperature on the survival rate of rapidly thawed porcine frozen embryos was attained at 3$0^{\circ}C$ of thawing temperature(33.3~40.6%) in the freezing medium higher than 25 or 37$^{\circ}C$ of thawing temperature.

Offsprings Produced by Transcervically Inseminating Frozen-thawed Semen into Uterus of a Estrus-induced Saanen Goat during Non-breeding Season

  • We report herein the successful results of estrus induction, sperm cryopreservation and kids born by transcervical insemination of frozen-thawed semen in a Saanen goat. Flugestone acetate (FGA: 60 mg) was inserted into vagina for 15 days. The goat was intramuscularly injected with 400 IU PMSG and 200 IU hCG ($PG600^{(R)}$: Intervet, Korea) a day before withdrawal of the FGA sponge. Follicles and corpora lutea were identified on both ovaries by laparoscopy. Artificial insemination was performed 46 hours after removal of FGA sponge. The concentration of frozen-thawed semen was $3.975{\times}10^8/ml$ and 0.5 ml of frozen-thawed semen was transcervically inseminated into uterine body under anesthesia. Three kids, all females, were born 144 days after artificial insemination. This is the first report producing kids by transcervical insemination of frozen-thawed semen in a Saanen goat of which the estrus was induced by FGA sponges, PMSG and hCG during non-breeding season in Korea.

한우에서 수정란 이식의 효율 증진에 대한 연구 I. 수정란의 조건이 이식 후 수태율에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Improvement of Embryo Transfer Efficiency in Korean Cattle I. Effect of Embryo Conditions on Pregnancy Rate after Embryo Transfer)

  • This study was carried out to establish an effective system for embryo transfer techniques by analyzing several factors affecting in-vivo embryo transfer in Korean cattle. Embryos produced in-vivo were transferred into a total of 301 recipients. The results obtained in studies on the factors affecting pregnancy rate after embryo transfer by condition of embryos were as follow ; 1. The pregnancy rate of 301 recipients was 45.2% and higher with fresh embryos than with frozen embryos(63.5% : 21.4%, P<0.01). Embryos superovurated by FSH-P had slightly greater than by SUPER-OV in pragnancy rate, athough these were no difference between two treatments. 2. The pregnancy rates of transferred morulae and blastocysts showed no difference between fresh and frozen embryos(63.5% : 63~6% ; 20.0% : 25.8%). However, the pregnancy rates by quality of flesh and frozen embryos were significantly different(P<0~05). The pregnancy rates were outstandingly high in the grade A, B of fresh embryos(59.0~66.4%), and in the grade A of frozen embryos(43.6%). 3. The number of transferred embryos showed no difference in pregnancy rate, but when frozen embryos transferred, the pregnancy rate was slightly higher with two embryos than that with one embryo.

Extension Properties of Frozen Hard Wheat Flour Doughs Mixed with Ascorbic Acid and Gluten Hydrolysate

  • The textural properties of doughs mixed with L-ascorbic acid (AA), trypsin hydrolyzed gluten peptide (THGP), and a mixture of AA-THGP were investigated using texture analyzer under the fermentation of the full formula and the freezing process. The full formula dough (FFD) required a shorter mixing time than the flour and water formula dough (FWD). The maximum resistance (Rmax) values of both the unfrozen and frozen doughs were lower for the FFD. The effects of AA and THGP additions were not significant (p<0.01) in FFD, however, they were significant in FWD. The freezing effect was significant (p<0.0001) for FFD, indicating that yeast fermented dough was much more sensitive to damage from freezing, which subsequently affected dough strength. Additions of AA (p=0.0026) and THGP (p=0.0097) had a significant effect on the extensibility (E-value) of unfrozen FWD, where THGP increased and AA decreased the E-value. However, freezing did not significantly effect the extensibilities of FWD (p=0.64) or FFD (p=0.21). The area of FFD was lower than the area of FWD for both the unfrozen and frozen doughs. However, the frozen dough mixed with THGP alone had the largest area overall. The addition of additives did not result in significantly different (p<0.01) areas under the curve, except in the frozen FFD. Freezing caused a statistically significant difference in the area of FWD (p=0.0045).

정어리소시지의 품질 개선에 관한 연구 -2. 소시지원료로서의 정어리냉동고기풀의 가공 및 품질 안정성 (Studies on Improving the Quality of Sardine Sausage -2. Processing Conditions of Frozen Sardine Meat Paste and Quality Stability during Frozen Storage-)

  • 정어리소시지 품질 개선을 위한 기초자료를 얻을 목적으로, 소시지원료로서 정어리냉동고기풀을 제조하여 그 소시지 형성능에 대해 선어로써 만든 정어리 소시지와 비교하고 아울러 동결저장 중 품질 안정성에 대해서도 검토하였다. 소시지 중간원료인 정어리냉동고기풀은 소시지로서의 가공적성 및 저장안정성면으로 보안 냉동변성 방지제로서 sorbitol 4%, 축합인산염 0.3% 첨가한 것이 좋았다. 또한 이 정어리냉동고기풀로 만든 소시지의 품질은 선어를 원료로 했을 때와 비교하여 손색이 없었다.
