AFS 횡력 제한조건 하에서 ESC와 AFS를 이용한 최적 요 모멘트 분배 (Optimum Yaw Moment Distribution with ESC and AFS Under Lateral Force Constraint on AFS)

  • 본 논문에서는 능동 전륜 조향장치(AFS)에 의한 횡력의 크기가 제한된 상황에서 자세 제어장치(ESC)와 능동 전륜 조향(AFS)을 이용한 통합 새시 제어기의 최적 요모멘트 분배 방법을 제안한다. 차량을 안정화시키는데 필요한 제어 요모멘트는 슬라이딩모드 제어이론을 이용하여 구한다. 가중 역행렬 기반 제어 할당 방법을 이용하여 제어 요모멘트를 ESC의 제동력과 AFS의 추가 조향각으로 분배한다. 저마찰 노면에서 AFS에 의한 횡력이 물리적 최대값을 초과하는 경우 제어 요모멘트를 제대로 만들어내지 못하므로 가중 역행렬 기반 제어 할당 방법을 이용하여 AFS에 의한 횡력의 크기를 제한하고 ESC의 제동력으로 부족한 제어 요모멘트를 보상하는 방법을 제안한다. 차량 시뮬레이션 패키지인 $CarSim^{(R)}$에서 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 AFS에 의한 횡력이 물리적 최대값을 초과하는 경우 제안된 방법이 차량의 조종 안정성과 횡방향 안정성을 향상시킨다는 사실을 검증했다.

Micro Cutting of Tungsten Carbides with SEM Direct Observation Method

  • This paper describes the micro cutting of wear resistant tungsten carbides using PCD (Poly-Crystalline Diamond) cutting tools in performance with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) direct observation method. Turning experiments were also carried out on this alloy (V50) using a PCD cutting tool. One of the purposes of this study is to describe clearly the cutting mechanism of tungsten carbides and the behavior of WC particles in the deformation zone in orthogonal micro cutting. Other purposes are to achieve a systematic understanding of machining characteristics and the effects of machining parameters on cutting force, machined surface and tool wear rates by the outer turning of this alloy carried out using the PCD cutting tool during these various cutting conditions. A summary of the results are as follows: (1) From the SEM direct observation in cutting the tungsten carbide, WC particles are broken and come into contact with the tool edge directly. This causes tool wear in which portions scrape the tool in a strong manner. (2) There are two chip formation types. One is where the shear angle is comparatively small and the crack of the shear plane becomes wide. The other is a type where the shear angle is above 45 degrees and the crack of the shear plane does not widen. These differences are caused by the stress condition which gives rise to the friction at the shear plane. (3) The thrust cutting forces tend to increase more rapidly than the principal forces, as the depth of cut and the cutting speed are increased preferably in the orthogonal micro cutting. (4) The tool wear on the flank face was larger than that on the rake face in the orthogonal micro cutting. (5) Three components of cutting force in the conventional turning experiments were different in balance from ordinary cutting such as the cutting of steel or cast iron. Those expressed a large value of thrust force, principal force, and feed force. (6) From the viewpoint of high efficient cutting found within this research, a proper cutting speed was 15 m/min and a proper feed rate was 0.1 mm/rev. In this case, it was found that the tool life of a PCD tool was limited to a distance of approximately 230 m. (7) When the depth of cut was 0.1 mm, there was no influence of the feed rate on the feed force. The feed force tended to decrease, as the cutting distance was long, because the tool was worn and the tool edge retreated. (8) The main tool wear of a PCD tool in this research was due to the flank wear within the maximum value of $V_{max}$ being about 260 $\mu\textrm{m}$.

임플랜트 지대주 나사의 텅스텐 카바이드/탄소 코팅이 전하중에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (INFLUENCE OF TUNGSTEN CARBIDE/CARBON COATING ON THE PRELOAD OF IMPLANT ABUTMENT SCREWS)

  • Statement of problem: In order to increase preload with reducing the friction coefficient, abutment screws coated with pure gold and Teflon as dry lubricant coatings have been introduced. But the reported data indicate that if screw repeated tightening and loosening cycle, an efficiency of increasing preload was decreased by screw surface wearing off. Purpose: This study was to evaluate the influence of tungsten carbide/carbon coating, which has superior hardness and frictional wear resistance, on the preload of abutment screws and the stability of coating surface after repeated closures. Material and method: The rotational values of abutment screws and the compressive forces between abutment and fixture were measured in implant systems with three different joint connections, one external butt joint and two internal cones. Moreover the stability and the alteration of coating surface were examined by comparison of the compressive force and the removable torque values during 10 consecutive trials, observation with scanning electron microscope and analyzed the elemental composition with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy Results and conclusion: 1. Application of coating resulted in significant increase of compressive force in all implant systems(P<.05). The increasing rate of compressive force by coating in external butt joint was gloater than those in internal cones (P<.05). 2. Coated screw showed the significant additional rotation compared to non-coated screw in all implant systems (P<.05). There were no significant differences in the increasing rate of rotation among implant systems (P>.05). 3. Removable torque values were greater with non-coated screw than that with coated screw (P<.05). 4. Coated screw showed insignificant variations in the compressive forces during 10 consecutive trials(P>.05) 5. After repeated trials, the surface layer of coated screw was maintained relatively well. However surface wearing and irregular titanium fragments were found in non-coated screw.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량의 횡방향 안정성을 향상시키기 위해 자세 제어 장치(ESC)와 능동 전륜 조향(AFS)을 이용하는 통합 새시 제어의 적응 가변 가중치 조절 방법을 제안한다. 제어기 설계 방법론을 적용하여 차량을 안정화시키는데 필요한 제어 요 모멘트를 구한 후 이를 가중 역행렬 기반 제어 할당 방법(WPCA)을 이용하여 ESC 의 제동력과 AFS 의 추가 조향각으로 분배한다. 저마찰 노면에서는 차량의 속도가 높다면 횡슬립각이 증가하여 횡방향 안정성이 저하되므로 이를 방지하기 위해 WPCA 의 가변가중치를 상황에 따라 조절하는 방법을 제안한다. 차량 시뮬레이션 패키지인 CarSim 에서 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 제안된 방법이 통합 섀시 제어기의 횡방향 안정성을 향상시킨다는 사실을 검증한다.

A numerical study of scale effects on performance of a tractor type podded propeller

  • In this study, the scale effect on the performance of the podded propeller of tractor type is investigated. Turbulent flow computations are carried out for Reynolds numbers increasing progressively from model scale to full scale using the CFD analysis. The result of the flow calculation for model scale Reynolds numbers agrees well with that of the experiment of a large cavitation tunnel. The existing numerical analysis indicates that the performance of the podded propeller blades is mainly influenced by the advance coefficient and relatively little by the Reynolds number. However, the drag of pod housing with propeller in operation is different from that of pod housing without propeller due to the acceleration and swirl of propeller slipstream which is altered by propeller loading as well as the pressure recovery and friction according to Reynolds number, which suggests that the pod housing drag under the condition of propeller in operation is the key factor of the scale effect on the performance between model and full scale podded propellers. The so called 'drag ratio', which is the ratio of pod housing drag to total thrust of podded propeller, increases as the advance coefficient increases due to accelerated flow in the slipstream of the podded propeller. However, the increasing rate of the drag ratio reduces continuously as the Reynolds number increases from model to full scale progressively. The contribution of hydrodynamic forces, which acts on the parts composed of the pod housing with propeller operating in various loading conditions, to the thrust and the torque of the total propeller unit are presented for a range of Reynolds numbers from model to full scales.

나노인덴테이션 시험과 유한요소해석을 이용한 자동차 도금 강판의 도금층 체적 거동결정 및 성형해석 적용 (Identification of the Bulk Behavior of Coatings by Nanoindentation Test and FE-Simulation and Its Application to Forming Analysis of the Coated Steel Sheet)

  • Coating layers on a coated sheet steel frequently affect distributions of strain rate of sheets and deteriorate the frictional characteristics between sheets and tools in sheet metal forming. Thus, it is important to identify the deformation behavior of these coatings to ensure the success of the sheet forming operation. In this study, the technique using nano-indentation test, FE-simulation and Artificial Neural Network(ANN) were proposed to determine the power law stress-strain behavior of coating layer and the power law behavior of extracted coating layers was examined using FE-simulation of drawing and nano-indentation process. Also, deep drawing test was performed to estimate the formability and frictional characteristic of coated sheet, which was calculated using the linear relationship between drawing force and blank holding force obtained from the deep drawing test. FE-simulations of the drawing process were respectively carried out for single-behavior FE-model having one stress-strain behavior and for layer-behavior FE-model which consist of coating and substrate separately. The results of simulations showed that layer-behavior model can predict drawing forces with more accuracy in comparison with single-behavior model. Also, mean friction coefficients used in FE-simulation signify the value that can occur maximum drawing force in a drawing test.

Effect of passive self-ligating bracket placement on the posterior teeth on reduction of frictional force in sliding mechanics

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the static (SFF) and kinetic frictional forces (KFF) in sliding mechanics of hybrid bracket systems that involve placing a conventional bracket (CB) or active self-ligating bracket (ASLB) on the maxillary anterior teeth (MXAT) and a passive SLB (PSLB) on the maxillary posterior teeth (MXPT). Methods: The samples consisted of two thoroughbred types (group 1, anterior-CB + posterior-CB; group 2, anterior-ASLB + posterior-ASLB) and four hybrid types (group 3, anterior-CB + posterior-PSLB-type 1; group 4, anterior-CB + posterior-PSLB-type 2; group 5, anterior-ASLB + posterior-PSLB-type 1; group 6, anterior-ASLB + posterior-PSLB-type 2) (n = 13 per group). After maxillary dentition alignment and maxillary first premolars removal in the stereolithographically-made typodont system, a $0.019{\times}0.025$-inch stainless steel wire was drawn through the right quadrant of the maxillary arch at 0.5 mm/min for 5 min. The SFF and KFF were measured with a mechanical testing machine and statistical analyses were performed. Results: Four different categories of SFF and KFF were observed among all groups (all p < 0.001). Group 1 demonstrated the highest SFF and KFF; groups 4 and 3 were second and third highest, respectively. The fourth category included groups 2, 5, and 6. Placing PSLBs on the MXPT resulted in significant SFF and KFF reductions in cases with CBs on the MXAT, but not in cases with ASLBs on the MXAT. Conclusions: These data might aid in the development of a hybrid bracket system that enables low-friction sliding of an archwire through the MXPT.

철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 벽부재(壁部材)의 실제적(實際的)인 변형해석(變形解析) (Realistic Deformation Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Walls)

  • 평면내력(平面內力)을 받는 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트슬래브, 판(板) 및 쉘 등(等)의 벽부재(壁部材)의 정확한 변형해석(變形解析)을 위하여 균열의 마찰일팽창거동(摩擦一膨脹擧動), 인장증강효과(引張增剛効果) 및 철근의 연결작용(連結作用)을 고려한 실제적인 해석모델을 수립하였다. 본 연구의 이론(理論)에 입각한 전산(電算)프로그램을 작성(作成)하여 포괄적인 변형해석이 수행되었으며, 새로운 개념의 마찰평형설계(摩擦平衡設計)와 종래(從來)의 무마찰평형설계(無摩擦平衡設計)에 입각한 철근설계에 대하여 각각 균열폭을 계산하여 비교하였다. 마찰설계개념에 의해 철근을 설계했을 경우 종래의 무마찰설계보다 변형량이 상당히 감소됨을 발견하였다. 또한, 철근직경과 균열간격이 균열폭에 미치는 영향을 연구(硏究)하였다. 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서 개발된 해석모델로 철근콘크리트부재(部材)의 좀 더 실제적이고 정확한 변형해석(變形解析)을 할 수 있게 되었다.

사질토지반의 선단확장형말뚝의 인발거동 특성 (Characteristics on Pullout Behavior of Belled Tension Pile in Sandy Soils)

  • 연안개발과 해안매립을 사용하여 개발된 새로운 도시 건설의 수요가 증가하면서 해안구조물과 고층구조물의 시공이 증가하는 추세이다. 이러한 구조물에서 수평력과 인발력을 받는 구조물의 기초의 적용이 증가하고 있으며, 특히 구조물에서 인발력에 효과적으로 저항하기 위한 기초형식으로 선단확장형말뚝의 사용이 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 압축력을 받는 기초에 관한 많은 연구들이 이루어지고 있으나, 선단확장형말뚝의 인발저항에 관한 연구는 미비한 상태이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 국외 4개 현장을 대상으로 선단확장형말뚝을 시공하고 정재하시험을 실시하여 말뚝의 지지력 및 하중-변위특성과 주면마찰력을 고려한 하중분담을 고찰하였다. 또한 3차원 유한요소해석 및 이론에 의해 산정된 극한인발력과 현장시험의 극한인발력을 비교 평가하였다.
