Numerical analysis has been made on the dynamic behavior of a supporting structure subjected to a force of time dependent frequency. The effect of solid viscosity is studied when the frequency of external force passes through the first critical frequency of the simple beam for four times. Within the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the solutions are obtained by using finite Fourier and Laplace transformation methods with respect to space and time variables. The result shows that the maximum value of the dynamic deflection is considerably affected by the value of the solid viscosity as well as the frequency difference The maximum dynamic deflection is found to occur in the frequency lower limit C of 0.85-0.985 in the presence of the solid viscosity.

This paper deals with the numerical method of calculating the frequency-dependent impedances of grounding electrodes. The proposed electromagnetic field approach is based on the solutions to Maxwell's equations obtained from the method of moment in the frequency domain. In order to evaluate the quality of the proposed simulation method, the frequency-dependent impedances of horizontally-buried ground electrodes were presented. The program for calculating the current distributions and impedances of grounding electrodes was implemented in MATLAB. The grounding impedances of two 10m and 50m long horizontal ground electrodes were measured and simulated in the frequency range from 100Hz to 10MHz for easy analysis and comparison. Also the simulated results were compared with those calculated from a sophisticated computer program CDEGS (HIFREQ module). As a result, the resultant results of frequency-dependent impedances obtained by using the numerical simulation method proposed in this work are in good agreement with experimental data. The validity of the approach techniques was confirmed.

Multiple ground rods are commonly used to obtain the low ground impedance, but they will not reduce the ground impedance unless the spacings between the ground rods are sufficient. This paper presents the experimental results of frequency-dependent resultant ground impedance of two ground rods in parallel. The resultant ground impedance of two ground rods in parallel were measured as functions of the spacing and length of ground rods and the frequency of test currents and were discussed based on the potential interferences. As a consequence, the frequency-dependent ground impedance of single ground rod and two combined ground rods give capacitive. It was found that the effect of potential interference on the ground impedance is directly associated with the frequency-dependent ground impedance and is strong in low frequency. Also, in order to reduce the increasing rate of resultant ground impedance of two ground rods due to potential interference to within 10(%), two ground rods in parallel will be placed over one rod length apart.
This study was intended to analyze difference of vocal folds movements between upon wakeup and in several hours later in the morning. The difference of vocal fold movements was compared with fundamental frequency and a range of fundamental frequencies from maximum to minimum. The participants were 30 female adults between 20 and 29 years old. Voice samples were collected from their reading sentence (Jeong, 1993). The first sampling was conducted within 5 minutes after wakeup, while the second on 1 hour after the first sampling. Finally, the third voice sample was collected on 6 hours after the second sampling. The results of this study were as follows: First, fundamental frequency of the participants were by hour significantly time-dependent(F=7.843). Post-hoc multiple comparison (LSD) was conducted to determine when the difference could be observed. The result showed significant differences between upon wakeup and 6 hours later (p< .001) and between 1 hour later and 6 hours later (p< .05). Second, there were a significantly time-dependent ranges of fundamental frequencies of participants by hour (F=3.130). According to the results of the LSD analysis the significant differences in range of fundamental frequencies were found between upon wakeup and 1 hour later and also between wakeup and 6 hours later (p< .05). The results above indicate that vocal fold movements upon wakeup is different from those of several hours later.

Optimal damping layout of the constrained viscoelastic damping layer on beam is identified with temperatures by using a gradient-based numerical search algorithm. An optimal design problem is defined in order to determine the constrained damping layer configuration. A finite element formulation is introduced to model the constrained layer damping beam. The four-parameter fractional derivative model and the Arrhenius shift factor are used to describe dynamic characteristics of viscoelastic material with respect to frequency and temperature. Frequency-dependent complex-valued eigenvalue problems are solved by using a simple re-substitution algorithm in order to obtain the loss factor of each mode and responses of the structure. The results of the numerical example show that the proposed method can reduce frequency responses of beam at peaks only by reconfiguring the layout of constrained damping layer within a limited weight constraint.
The purpose of this study was to develop an accurate frequency-dependent type apex locator. To compensate the impedence differences of different canal contents, voltage differences were pre-measured and stored for saline, HOsb1/$2O_2$ and NaOCl. The circuit was adjusted to recognize the different voltages of each solution, thereby the machine could automatically compensate the voltage differences. In the process of this study, the following informations were observed. 1. Most stable apical reading was obtained at 500Hz and 10kHz. 2. There were no differences in accuracy among three different frequency types, sign wave, triangular wave and rectangular wave(p>0.05). 3. Before the compensation of voltage differences, saline, H2O2 and NaOCl showed different readings at the apex even with the frequency-type (p<0.05). 4. After compensating the voltage difference, the accuracy was enhanced from + 0.42 to +0.32 in H2O2(p<0.05), from -0.34 to -0.12 in NaOCl(p<0.05).

We have investigated equivalent-circuit analysis of organic light-emitting diodes using frequency-dependent response of $ITO/Alq_3(60nm)/Al$ device at two different bias voltages. Complex impedance Z of the device was measured in the frequency range of 40Hz~1MHz. A Cole-Cole plot shows that there are two dielectric relaxations at the bias below turn-on voltage, and one relaxation at the bias above turn-on voltage. We are able to interpret the frequency-dependent response in terms of equivalent-circuit model of contact resistance $R_s$ in series with parallel combination of resistance $R_p$ and capacitance $C_p$. We have obtained contact resistance $R_s$ around $90{\Omega}$, mainly from the ITO anode.
A series of wind tunnel free-decay sectional model dynamic tests were conducted to examine the effects of torsional-to-vertical natural frequency ratio of 2DOF bridge dynamic systems on the aerodynamic and dynamic properties of bridge decks. The natural frequency ratios tested were around 2.2:1 and 1.2:1 respectively, with the fundamental vertical natural frequency of the system held constant for all the tests. Three 2.9 m long twin-deck bridge sectional models, with a zero, 16% (intermediate gap) and 35% (large gap) gap-to-width ratio, respectively, were tested to determine whether the effects of frequency ratio are dependent on bridge deck cross-section shapes. The results of wind tunnel tests suggest that for the model with a zero gap-width, a model to approximate a thin flat plate, the flutter derivatives, and consequently the aerodynamic forces, are relatively independent of the torsional-to-vertical frequency ratio for a relatively large range of reduced wind velocities, while for the models with an intermediate gap-width (around 16%) and a large gap-width (around 35%), some of the flutter derivatives, and therefore the aerodynamic forces, are evidently dependent on the frequency ratio for most of the tested reduced velocities. A comparison of the modal damping ratios also suggests that the torsional damping ratio is much more sensitive to the frequency ratio, especially for the two models with nonzero gap (16% and 35% gap-width). The test results clearly show that the effects of the frequency ratio on the flutter derivatives and the aerodynamic forces were dependent on the aerodynamic cross-section shape of the bridge deck.

The complexity of modern power systems often makes it impractical to model it in its entirety for electromagnetic transient studies. Therefore areas outside the immediate area of interest must be represented by some form of Frequency Dependent Network Equivalent (FDNE). The advantage of using z-domain fitting is that it can be directly implemented in a digital simulation program without any loss of accuracy. Fitting in the s-domain always requires "discretizing" a continuous system and the inherent approximations. This paper presents z-domain rational function formulation and demonstrates the use of it for the assessment of the transient response of the Lower South Island of New Zealand. Moreover by using a well publicized test system and providing complete information on the developed FDNE coefficients other researchers easily benchmark their work against this.
Our goal is to construct a two-frequency-dependent formula $I_N$ which interpolates a product f of two functions with different frequencies at some N points. In the beginning, it is not clear to us that the formula $I_N$ satisfies $I_N=f$ at the points. However, it is later shown that $I_N$ satisfies the above equation. For this theoretical development, a one-frequency-dependent formula is introduced, and some of its characteristics are explained. Finally, our newly constructed formula $I_N$ is compared to the classical Lagrange interpolating polynomial and the one-frequency-dependent formula in order to show the advantage that is obtained by generating the formula depending on two frequencies.
