  • The time optimal position control scheme can be repeatedly taken from the initial state of a dynamic system to a desired one as fast as possible at the industrial drives. In this case, the machine parameters will vary due to temperature, frequency, and saturation effects. In particular, the rotor resistance value changes dramatically with temperature and frequency. These changes affect the command values of the stator current components and slip speed. There is a mismatch between the commanded variables and actual variables of the induction motor drive, and this situation leads to decoupling of the vector controller from the plant, i.e the induction motor. Consequences of such decoupling include the initiation of oscillations of the rotor flux and unsuitable switching of electromagnetic torque of the induction motor servo drive. Therefore, a rotor resistance parameter compensating method for the induction motor is described.

  • In this paper, we propose a convenient microwave orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode generation and multiplexing method operating in the 18 GHz frequency band, based on a $2{\times}2$ uniform circular array and a $4{\times}4$ Butler matrix. The three OAM modes -1, 0, and +1 were generated and verified using spatial S-parameter measurements; the measured back-to-back mode isolation was greater than 17 dB in the full 17 GHz to 19 GHz range. However, the radiated OAM beam centers were slightly dislocated and varied with both frequency and the mode index, because of the non-ideal characteristics of the Butler matrix. This resulted in mode isolation degradation and transmission distance limitations.

  • The frequency selective surface (FSS) embedded hybrid composite materials have been developed to provide excellent mechanical and specific electromagnetic properties. Radar absorbing structures (RASs) are an example material that provides both radar absorbing properties and structural characteristics. The absorbing efficiency of an RAS can be improved using selected materials having special absorptive properties and structural characteristics and can be in the form of multi-layers or have a certain stacking sequence. However, residual stresses occur in FSS embedded composite structures after co-curing due to a mismatch between the coefficients of thermal expansion of the FSS and the composite material. In this study, to develop an RAS, the thermal residual stresses of FSS embedded composite structures were analyzed using finite element analysis, considering the effect of stacking sequence of composite laminates with square loop (SL) and double square loop (DSL) FSS patterns. The FSS radar absorbing efficiency was measured in the K-band frequency range of 21.6 GHz. Residual stress leads to a change in the deformation of the FSS pattern. Using these results, the effect of transmission characteristics with respect to the deformation on FSS pattern was analyzed using an FSS Simulator.

  • This Paper Proposes new speed and electromagnetic torque control of an induction motor, which is robust against time varying parameters. The control is based on adaptive vector control with serial block adaptive algorithm. Motor parameters used to estimates slip frequency and electromagnetic torque. Parameters mismatch in the control system detrimentally affects slip frequency estimation and torque response. In order to compensate lot degradation of the responses, an adaptive identifier for the magnetizing inductance and the secondary time constant is introduced. adaptive vector control system consisted of two subsystems, a vector control system realized on synchronous frame and a parameter identification system on stationary frame. the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by some digital simulations.

  • This paper presents a fast switching CMOS frequency synthesizer with a new coarse tuning method for PHS applications. To achieve the fast lock-time and the low phase noise performance, an efficient bandwidth control scheme is proposed. Charge pump up/down current mismatches are compensated with the current mismatch compensation block. Also, the proposed coarse tuning method selects the optimal tuning capacitances of the LC-VCO to optimize the phase noise and the lock-time. The measured lock-time is about $20{\mu}s$. This chip is fabricated with $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS technology, and the die area is $0.7mm{\times}2.1mm$. The power consumption is 54mW at 2.7V supply voltage.

  • In this paper, a 9-bit 1GS/s high precision folding A/D converter with a 45 nm CMOS technology is proposed. In order to improve the asymmetrical boundary condition error of a conventional folding ADC, a novel scheme with an odd number of folding blocks is proposed. Further, a new digital encoding technique is described to implement the odd number of folding technique. The proposed ADC employs a digital error correction circuit to minimize device mismatch and external noise. The chip has been fabricated with 1.1V 45nm Samsung CMOS technology. The effective chip area is $2.99mm^2$ and the power dissipation is about 120 mW. The measured result of SNDR is 45.35 dB, when the input frequency is 150 MHz at the sampling frequency of 1 GHz. The measured INL is within +7 LSB/-3 LSB and DNL is within +1.5 LSB/-1 LSB.

  • (PZT, PST, PT)/ YBCO structured have been grown on single crystal $LaAlO_3$ using in-situ Nb:YAG pulsed laser deposition technique. The optimum conditions of fabrication for high quality films have been established under various oxygen pressure. TBCO was used as a metallic electrode for polarizing ferroelectric thin fillms. Lattice mismatch of these materials were found to be with in 3%. As a result XRD patterns and rocking curves, (PZT, PST, PT)/ YBCO multiayered thin films on $LaAlO_3$ substrates showed preferred orientation to c-axis. For invastigation on electrical properties of ferroelectric thin films, remanent polaiztion $P_r$ and coercive field $E_c$ were measured for three samples. At each optimum condition, they showed the values of P_r=60 \mu C/cm^2 and E_c=240kV/ cm for PT, 30\mu C/cm^2 and 105kV/cm for PZT, 1.5\mu C/cm^2$ and 15kV/cm for PST. Frequency dependence of dielectric properties of ferroelectric thin fillms was also investigated. As a result, it showed the frequency dependence was relatively small in the range of 10Hz~10kHz.

  • In this paper band-stop filters that reject the undesired 3th and/or 5th harmonics generated from high frequency generator are analyzed using equivalent circuit concept, and optimized using iterative optimization algorithm. The length of the band-stop filter is setup initially a quarter of a wavelength of the harmonic, but initial filter structure is exactly unable to cutoff the harmonics because of the fringing effect at the discontinuous boundary. To reduce the mismatch between the cutoff frequency and the harmonics, iterative LMA(Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm) is introduced and band-stop filters in coaxial line are optimized.

  • This work proposes a 2-channel time-interleaved (T-I) 10b 120MS/s pipeline SAR ADC minimizing offset mismatch between channels without any calibration scheme. The proposed ADC employs a 2-channel SAR and T-I topology based on a 2-step pipeline ADC with 4b and 7b in the first and second stage for high conversion rate and low power consumption. Analog circuits such as comparator and residue amplifier are shared between channels to minimize power consumption, chip area, and offset mismatch which limits the ADC linearity in the conventional T-I architecture, without any calibration scheme. The TSPC D flip-flop with a short propagation delay and a small number of transistors is used in the SAR logic instead of the conventional static D flip-flop to achieve high-speed SAR operation as well as low power consumption and chip area. Three separate reference voltage drivers for 4b SAR, 7b SAR circuits and a single residue amplifier prevent undesirable disturbance among the reference voltages due to each different switching operation and minimize gain mismatch between channels. High-frequency clocks with a controllable duty cycle are generated on chip to eliminate the need of external complicated high-frequency clocks for SAR operation. The prototype ADC in a 45nm CMOS technology demonstrates a measured DNL and INL within 0.69LSB and 0.77LSB, with a maximum SNDR and SFDR of 50.9dB and 59.7dB at 120MS/s, respectively. The proposed ADC occupies an active die area of 0.36mm2 and consumes 8.8mW at a 1.1V supply voltage.

  • Background: p53 alterations have been implicated in the development of many cancers, such as gastric cancer, but there is no evidence of p53 intron alterations in gastritis lesions. The aim of this study was to investigate the p53 intron alterations in gastritis along with p53 and mismatch repair protein expression and microsatellite status. Materials and Methods: PCR-sequencing was conducted for introns 2-7 on DNA extracted from 97 paired samples of gastritis lesions and normal adjacent tissue. Abnormal accumulation of p53 and mismatch repair proteins was investigated using immunohistochemistry. In addition, microsatellite status was evaluated with reference to five mononucleotide markers. Results: Gastritis cases included 41 males and 56 females in the age range of 15-83 years, 87.6% being H.pylori positive. IVS2+38, IVS3ins16 and IVS7+72 were the most polymorphic sites. Their minor allele frequency values were as follows: 0.38, 0.21 and 0.06, respectively. Samples with GG genotype at IVS2+38 and CT at IVS7+72 had no insertion. Moreover, most of the stable samples (91.9 %) had a G allele at IVS2+38. All of the samples were IHC negative for p53 protein, microsatellite stable and expressed mismatch repair proteins. p53 alterations were prominent in the H. Pylori+ group, but without statistical significance. Conclusions: According to our results, some p53 polymorphisms such as IVS2+38, IVS3ins16 and IVS7+72, because of their correlations together or with microsatellite status may contribute to gastritis development. However, so far effects on p53 expression and function remain unclear. Therefore, a comprehensive survey is needed to delineate their biological significance.
