  • The trend toward more welfare living because of more leisure time has influenced the popularity of the community facilities in apartment housing. According to the residents' increasing interests for well-being life the changes and developments of the community facilities have been required in these days. The purpose of this research is to study these required changes and developments by analyzing the resident's using behavior of community facilities in apartment housing focusing on the educational and cultural facilities. For this purpose, this research intends to examine the existing conditions and problems of educational and cultural community facilities in apartment housing and to analyze the residents' using patterns such as frequency, preference and to comprehend the additional needs and requirements of the residents. The conclusions and suggestions of this research can be a basic data for the architects to design a resident-oriented educational and cultural community facilities.

  • RAMS is the procedure to maximize the reliability and availability of systems with managing operation rate, the frequency of failure in the system and repair method. Recently, all system life-cycle focusing on RAMS process has been rapidly developing in the field of railway vehicles, for example, applying th reliability management techniques for procurement and disposal of EMU. In particular, global economic recession require to reasonable measures for the EMU maintenance costs under the circumstances therefore, an alternative solution based on RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance) which is the optimal maintenance method is interested. In this study, the state of being critical of each component and a primary factors was analyzed to improve VVVF inverter of the line 7 EMU by applying FMECA process. Furthermore, this paper showed the impact of connecting between the main and sub system. Based on these data, critical components according to malfunction ratings were classified by screening measures and improvements for each components was summarized.

  • The characteristics of Asian dust (AD) in Korea between 1997 and 2005 were investigated, focusing on peak 1-hour $PM_{10}$ concentrations during AD events at seven cities over the Korean Peninsula. The frequency of AD events decreased from Seoul to Busan, indicating the major pathway of AD in Korea was from northwest to southeast. AD events were most frequent in 2001 while peak concentrations during AD events were much higher in 2002. Recent works show that the trajectories from northerly directions increased during the 2000s and later (Chun, 2009; Kim, 2008). In this work, the fraction of trajectories from the northwest was the largest on the whole, although trajectories from each direction varied by city and year. It is presumed that high concentrations of $PM_{10}$ during AD events are generally associated with trajectories from the northwest rather than from the source region.

  • This study investigated the leisure constraints and leisure life satisfaction of the institutional elderly. The respondents were 302 elderly people residing in 5 free institutionalized elderly homes in Seoul. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, One-way ANOVA, Duncan's post hoc test and regression analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that the 10 items in the proposed scale could be grouped into four factors of constraint on leisure:'physical constraint','psychological constraint','interpersonal constraint', and 'structural constraint 'There were differences in leisure constraints according to sex, age, education degree, interaction with facility colleagues, and interaction with facility staff. There were differences in leisure life satisfaction according to sex, age, having religion or not, interaction with facility colleagues, interaction with facility staff and leisure constraints. Regression analysis results indicated that the main effective factors of leisure life satisfaction were leisure constraints.

  • Recent experimental and theoretical advances on the aromatic alcohol-water clusters are reviewed, focusing on the structure of the hydrogen bonding between the alcoholic OH group and the binding water molecules. The interplay of experimental observations and theoretical calculations for the elucidation of the structure is demonstrated for phenol-water, benzyl alcohol-water, substituted phenol-water, naphthol-water and tropolone -water clusters. Discussion is made on assigning the role (either proton-donating or -accepting) of the hydroxyl group by measuring the shifts of infrared frequency of the OH stretching mode in the cluster from that of bare aromatic alcohol for the experimental determination of the cluster structure.

  • Traditionally most of studies on voluntary turnover have focused on identifying the determinants of it under the implicit assumption that negative attitudue raises turnover rate and, in turn, it undermines organizational effectiveness. But, recently many scholars have argued that more focus be placed on the functionalty than the frequency of turnover. Based on the recent trend of voluntary turnover, this paper is to analyse the differences of the Intention to Leave(IL) level according to job characteristics(job variety, job importance, job autonomy, job identity, feedback)$\times$functionality(employee ability, attitude). Resulting from 2-way ANOVA, the Negative-attitude Group(NG) is found to expose significantly high IL level than the Affirmative-attitude Group(AG) in low job variety, low job autonomy, low job importance.

  • The purpose of this study was to construct fashion banner advertising strategy. For this purpose, the following hypotheses were set up : (a) analyze the present state of the fashion banner advertising, (b) examine whether it is any difference of the fashion banner advertising by their demographic variables, media using groups, clothing involvement and brand loyalty. A sample of 553 people in the age group 16-34s living in Seoul were selected from internet users. The data were analysed with Frequency, Percentage, ANOVA. Duncan test by using SPSS Package. The results of this research were as follows : First, fashion banner advertising took the first step. there was small in number. Second, it was found that the attitude of fashion banner advertising had some difference depending on their demographic variables, media usage groups, clothing involvement and brand royalty. Female in lower age groups were greater interests in illustrated/inquisitive fashion banner advertising. And high involvement groups preferred the fashion banner advertising.

  • In 2000, the economy of Asia made a V-character type recovery from the currency and financial crisis in 1997. The increase in exports is assumed to be one of the causes. To negotiate with foreign countries, English must be indispensable in many cases. In this study, we investigated how English education is performed in East Asian countries while focusing on English textbooks. We metrically analyzed some textbooks used junior high schools and high school in Japan and Korea, and elementary schools in China and Singapore to compare them with U.S.A and U.K textbook. We investigated some characteristics of character-and word-appearance of English textbook using an exponential function. Moreover we derived the degree of difficulty far each material through the variety of words and their frequency on the basis of the required English vocabulary in Japanese junior high schools. As a result we could show at which level of U.S.A. or U.K the English textbooks used in East Asian countries are.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting financial management behavior and financial satisfaction of husbands and wives. The data were collected from 212 couples living in Pusan and Kyungnam region by the self-administered questionnaire. The major findings of this study were as follows: (1) the communication frequency of husbands and wives was an important factor affecting financial management behavior and financial satisfaction for them; (2) financial management behavior was an important variable affecting financial satisfaction for husbands and wives; and (3) financial satisfaction of husbands and wives were affected by monthly saying. From these findings, it is suggested that the financial management program focusing on the ways to increase communication among family members and to implement financial management effectively should be developed.

  • This study investigates twenty four Korean females' production of English front vowels focusing on the distinction in /i/ vs /ɪ/ and /ɛ/ vs /${\ae}$/ and formant values of stressed and unstressed vowels compared with those of native English speakers. The Korean learners were asked to read a textbook passage which includes ten sentences including target vowels. The major results indicate that: (1) Korean learners have trouble producing a distinct version (tense and lax) of front vowels in the paragraph reading; (2) The vowel space of the stressed vowels in a paragraph is smaller than that of embedded sentences; and (3) The vowel quality of the unstressed vowels produced by the Korean learners is similar to that of the native English speakers. The findings from this study can be applied to the pronunciation teaching for the Korean learners of English vowels and realization of English stress.
