  • Several studies have evaluated the effects of types of relative frequency and delay interval of knowledge of results(KR) on motor skill learning independently. The purpose of this study was to determine more effective types of KR relative frequency and KR delay interval for motor learning. Forty-six healthy subjects (15 female, 31 male) with no previous experience with this experiment participated. The subjects ranged in age from 20 to 29 years (mean=23.9, SD=0.474). All subjects were assigned to one of four groups: a high-instant group, a high-delay group, a low-instant group, and a low-delay group. During the acquisition phase, subjects practiced movements to a target (400 mm) with either a high (83%) or low (33%) KR relative frequency, and with either an instantaneous or delayed (after 8s) KR. Four groups were evaluated on retention (after 3min and 24hr) and transfer (450 mm) tests. The major findings were as follows: (1) there were no between-group differences in acquisition and short-term retention (p>0.05, (2) a low (33%) KR relative frequency during practice was as effective for learning as measured by both long-tenn retention and transfer tests, compared with high (83%) KR practice conditions (p<0.05), (3) delayed (8s) KR enhanced learning as measured by both long-term retention and transfer tests, compared with instantaneous KR practice conditions (p<0.05), and (4) there were no interactions between KR relative frequency and KR delay interval during acquisition, retention, and transfer phases. The results suggest that relatively less frequent and delayed KR are more effective types for motor learning than more frequent and instantaneous KR.

  • In this paper, we proposed lowpass filter using all-pass sums of flat delay characteristics. this filter consisted of all-pass filter of parallel structure, the general analog filter is impossible to adjust the phase and the delay, using the Proposed filter, it has advantage to adjust them. And, we compared and analyzed this filter with passband width and magnitude characteristics, and the relation of group delay characteristics and cut-off frequency. Also, in order to obtain desired cut-off frequency, forming the weighing, we obtained desired cut-off frequency and group delay characteristics.

  • In OFDMA systems, cyclic delay diversity can improve the system performance due to diversity effects. However, applying cyclic delay diversity to block-hopping SC-FDMA systems can affect the performance in two contrary ways: positive effect due to increased frequency diversity and negative effect caused by increased frequency selectivity. Hence, the delay value for cyclic delay diversity should be carefully selected to maximize the system performance. This paper discusses these two contrary effects and proposes a method of determining the delay value of cyclic delay diversity for block-hopping SC-FDMA systems.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to determine the optimal cyclic delay value of cyclic delay diversity(CDD) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) systems. As the cyclic delay value increases, we can get signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR) gain by diversity effect, while SINR loss increases because of channel estimation errors. If the optimal delay value obtained by the proposed method is applied to CDD scheme, we can minimize the required SINR for a given FER(frame error rate) under the above mentioned trade-off.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel equalizer to compensate for the group delay including AM/PM nonlinear distortion characteristics by the nonlinear power amplifier (PA). The group delay characteristic is a nonlinear non-constant time delay that appears differently depending on each frequency component. The phase distortion by AM/PM characteristics arising from the power amplifier is a major factor to increase group delay. By the group delay distortion, the signal in the constellation expands and is rotated. Considering the problem mentioned above, the nonlinear time delay that appears differently depending on each frequency component is classified as a static group delay and AM/PM characteristic of PA, the different phase transitions depending on the size of input signal as a dynamic group delay. Static group delay estimates and compensate for phase distortions in the frequency domain with type-based method and dynamic group delay compensates for phase rotation in the time domain. We confirmed that the group delay compensation techniques were enough to compensate the group delay characteristics including AM/PM characteristics of the power amplifier.

  • In this paper, it was firstly confirmed that the drain current of the depleted SOI MOSFET operated in the high frequency response delay occurs by the inductive parasitic. Depleted SOI MOSFET cannot be applied as a conventional high-frequency MOSFET model because the response delay of the drain current is generated in accordance with the drain voltage fluctuation. This response delay may be described as a non-quasi-static effect, and the SOI MOSFET generated the response delay by the inductive parasitics compared to typical MOSFET. It is confirmed that depleted SOI MOSFET's RF characteristics can be well reproduced with the proposed method including the drain current response delay.

  • This paper compares the performances of cyclic delay diversity and phase rolling techniques for SC-FDE(Single Carrier with Frequency Domain Equalization) systems with multiple transmit antennas assuming time-flat and frequency-flat channels. In OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems generation of time varying channels using phase rolling can result in performance gains comparable to those of frequency-selective channels made by cyclic delay diversity However, in SC-FDE systems making time-selective channels may produce better results than creation of frequency-selective channels.

  • Before blasts that can have direct impacts on human bodies or structures, it is necessary to assess impacts of ground vibration. Therefore, frequency has been recognized as an important factor in order to assess impact on ground vibration and damages. There have been many studies on impacts of frequency. But, there have been no studies on relations between vibration and frequency according to delay time difference. In this study, we examined the relations between delay time difference and frequency according to each frequency with which reinforcement and destructive intervention repeat through delay time difference obtained using superposition modeling of single hole blasting waveform based on the theory of time difference developed by Langefors.

  • As environmental vibration requirements on precision equipment become more stringent, use of pneumatic isolators has become more popular and their performance is subsequently required to be further improved. Performance of passive pneumatic isolators is related to various design parameters in a complicated manner and, hence, is very limited especially in low frequency range by chamber volume. In this study, transmissibility behavior of the pneumatic isolators depending on frequency and dynamic amplitude are presented. Then, an active control technique, time delay control, which is adequate for a low frequency nonlinear system, is applied. A procedure of applying the time delay control law to a pneumatic isolator is presented and it's effectiveness in the transmissibility performance is shown. Comparison between passive and active pneumatic isolators is made based on simulation.

  • In distributed-allocation OFDMA systems, cyclic delay diversify can improve the system performance by increasing frequency diversity. However, applying cyclic delay diversify to distributed-allocation SC-FDMA systems can affect the performance in two contrary ways: positive effect due to increased frequency diversity and negative effect caused by increased frequency selective channels. This paper addresses these two contrary effects and discusses about when cyclic delay diversity is useful and when it is not very useful for distributed-allocation SC-FDMA systems.
