Fast Regulation Method for Commutation Shifts for Sensorless Brushless DC Motors

  • Sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive systems are often subjected to inaccurate commutation signals and can produce high current peaks and conduction consumption. To achieve accurate commutation, a fast commutation shift regulation method for sensorless BLDC motor drive systems considering the influence of the inductance freewheeling process is presented to compensate inaccurate commutation signals. The regulation method is effective in both steady speed and variable speed operations. In the proposed method, the commutation error is gained from the line-voltage difference integral in a 60 electrical-degree conduction period and the outgoing phase current before commutation. In addition, the detection precision of the commutation error is improved due to the consideration of the freewheeling period. The commutation error is directly obtained, which avoids successive optimization and accelerates the convergence rate of the proposed method. Moreover, the commutation error features a positive or negative sign, which can be utilized as an indicator of advanced or delayed commutation. Finally, experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method. The results obtained show that the proposed method can accurately regulate commutation signals.

  • The conventional high frequency phase-shifted full bridge dc/dc converter has a disadvantage that a circulating current flows through transformer and switching devices during the freewheeling interval. Due to this circulating current, RMS current stress, conduction losses of transformer and switching devices are increased. To alleviate this problem, this paper provides a circulating current free type high frequency soft switching phase-shifted full bridge (FB) dc/dc converter with the modified energy recovery snubber (ERS) attached at the secondary side of transforemr.

  • The Attractive features of the proposed converter has lower number of power devices and also has full regenerative capability, freewheeling in chopping or PWM mode, simple control strategy and faster demagnetization during commutation. The dump component energy requirements are much lower in this converter topology than another C-dump converters. As a result, The proposed converter has improved efficiency in the overall system than Modified C-dump converter, this thesis was approved its superiority by simulation and experimental results.

  • 최근 저전압 대전류 출력 특성을 갖는 연료전지를 위한 새로운 발전시스템으로 주목받고 있다. 연료전지 발전시스템에서는 DC-DC 승압용 컨버터와 DC-AC 인버터가 필요하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 연료전지의 전압을 $380[V_{DC}]$로 승압하기 위한 절연형 DC-DC 컨버터와 단상 $220[V_{AC}]$로 변환하기 위한 LC필터를 가진 PWM 인버터로 구성된 전력변환장치를 제안하였다. 특히 제안한 고주파 절연형 ZVZCS PWM DC-DC 컨버터는 환류 다이오드를 포함한 탭부 인덕터 필터를 이용하여 순환 전류를 저감시켰으며, 스위치 및 변압기의 턴-온, 턴-오프시에 오버슈트 전압이나 과도현상이 발생하지 않는다. 그리고 넓은 출력 전압 조정에도 효율을 $93{\sim}97[%]$정도 얻을 수 있으며, 출력 부하전류의 변화에 대해 거의 일정한 출력 전압 특성을 가졌다.

  • 본 논문에서는 교류 서보 전동기 PI 전류제어를 위한 주요 시스템 파라미터인 상저항과 상인덕턴스를 측정하는 방법을 제시한다. 서보 전동기 전류제어를 위한 PI 제어이득은 주요 계통 파라미터인 권선간 저항과 인덕턴스 정보를 활용하여 튜닝하는 자동적 방법이 기본적으로 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 이 두 파라미터를 3상 인버터 제어를 통해 계측하는 방법을 제시한다. 이 제어 및 계측 방법은 3상 인버터를 이용하여 3상 권선에 비례입력 만을 이용하는 스텝 전류제어를 수행하고 그 결과로 얻어진 출력 상전류를 측정함으로써 구현된다. 더불어 이 방법은 권선간 인덕턴스 계측을 위해 특정 스위칭모드에서의 인버터 자연-순환(freewheeling) 전류를 이용한다. 이 인버터 제어를 이용하는 측정 방법은 새로운 추가 계측 회로 및 복잡한 계측 알고리즘을 사용하지 않고 실시간으로 파라미터들을 계측 및 연산할 수 있는 해석적 방법이다. 실제 전동기 제어에 사용되어지는 구동기 회로를 그대로 사용하면서 스위칭소자의 도통저항과 각종 결선 저항을 포함하는 합성 저항 및 인덕턴스를 계측할 수 있는 방법이다.

  • A basic structure of 2500V-4500V reverse-conducting GCT (RC-GCT) is given in this paper. The punch-through type (PT) is adopted for narrow N-base with high resistivity so that the fast turn-off and low on-state voltage can be achieved. The photo mask design was made upon the both turn-off performance and solution of separation between GCT and integrated freewheeling diode (FWD) part. The turn-on and turn-off characteristics for reserve-conducting gate commutated thyristors (RC-GCTs) were investigated by ISE simulation. Additionally, the local carrier lifetime control by proton irradiation was adopted so as not only to obtain the reduction of turn-off losses of GCT but also to reach a soft reverse recovering characteristics of FWD

  • The commutation and control in matrix converters is more complicated as in voltage source converters. Natural freewheeling paths do not exist and the theoretic absent storage elements result in a direct coupled system of load and line currents as well as voltages. The paper offers an overview about staggered commutation and control policies in matrix converters. Based on the knowledge about load current direction and the signs of the line to line input voltages different multi-step commutation policies were derived. This paper examines the application of that policies in the case of space vector modulation and direct control methods with the focus on the resulting effects to the reference output voltage deviation.

  • This paper presents the method of reducing torque ripple of Blushless Direct Current(BLDC) motor. In the BLDC motor, the torque is decided by the back-EMF and current waveform. If the back-EMF is constant, the torque ripple depends on the current ripple during commutation period. The current in commutation period is acquired by circuit analysis and then the torque ripple simply can be reduced by varying input voltage to flow the current continuously. And suggested method is confirmed by dynamic with parameters of 500W BLDC motor.

  • This paper proposes the interleaved buck converter using a soft switching auxiliary circuit. In this scheme, an auxiliary circuit is added to the conventional interleaved buck converter and used to achieve soft-switching conditions for both the main switch and freewheeling diode. In addition, the switch in the auxiliary circuit operates under soft-switching conditions. Also, according to the input to output conditions, the main switch achieved zero-current-transition(ZCT) or zero-current & zero-voltage-transition(ZCZVT) at turn on. Thus, the proposed interleaved buck converter provides a higher efficiency. The basic operations, in this paper, are discussed and design guidelines are presented. The usefulness of the proposed converter is verified on a 200kHz, 180W prototype converter.
