A large eddy simulation with an explicit filter on unstructured mesh is presented. The flow filed is semi-implicitly marched by a fractional step method. Spatial discretization of the solver is designed to guarantee the second order accuracy. An isotropic explicit filter is adopted for measuring the level of subgrid scale velocity fluctuation. The filter is linearity-preserving and has second order commutation error. The developed subgrid scale model is basically eddy viscosity model which depends on the explicitly filtered fields and needs no additional ad hoc wall treatment, such as van Driest damping function. For the validation, the flows in a channel and a pipe are calculated and compared to experimental data and numerical results in the literature.

A remarkably large number of special functions (such as the Gamma and Beta functions, the Gauss hypergeometric function, and so on) have been investigated by many authors. Motivated the works of both works of both Burchnall and Chaundy and Chaundy and very recently, Brychkov and Saad gave interesting generalizations of Appell type functions. In the present sequel to the aforementioned investigations and some of the earlier works listed in the reference, we present some new differential formulas for the generalized Appell's type functions ${\kappa}_i$, $i=1,2,{\ldots},18$ by considering the product of two $_4F_3$ functions.

Fractional horse power single phase induction motors have no starting torque their own. So there are several ways of starting single phase induction motors. The most common type is the starting capacitor installed in series with the auxiliary winding to increase the starting torque. Also, the auxiliary winding is disconnected once the speed of the motor reaches 70 to 80 [%] of the rated speed. In the conventional systems, this function is conducted by a centrifugal switch. But the mechanical centrifugal switch has many problems such as switch malfunction. This paper presents the new methods of electronic starting switch by inductor to overcome these shortcomings of centrifugal switch.

This study was performed to evaluate echocardiographic parameters in dogs with experimental mitral regurgitation subjected to dobutamine stress testing. In 8 beagle dogs, a 4-prong grasping forceps was inserted into the left ventricle through the carotid artery with fluoroscopic guidance. The disruption of chordae or mitral valve leaflet was performed. Echocardiographic protocols included quantitative Doppler echocardiography and M-mode measurement for evaluating left ventricle function. After all measurement was obtained at rest, dobutamine was infused incrementally. In stress testing, all measurement also was performed at rest as the same method. In stress Doppler echocardiography, regurgitant fraction and aortic stroke volume was increased significantly (P<0.001). Effective regurgitant orifice and regurgitant volume was not changed. In M-mode examination, fractional shortening was increased significantly at stress test (P<0.001). From the results obtained in this study, it could be suggested that dobutamine stress echocardiography increase left ventricle performance in non-functional mitral regurgitation and quantitative Doppler echocardiography is non-invasive, accurate method in valvular regurgitation.

In this paper, we propose a novel radiometric calibration method which can effectively compensate the nonlinearity of the detector for hyper-spectral camera. In general, the detector of hyper-spectral camera can produce nonlinear output depending on radiance and integral time. The conventional radiometric calibration methods extract the imprecise radiance profile from the spectral profile of the target due to this nonlinearity. In our proposed method, we use a quadratic equation instead of a linear equation to describe the relation between output of detector and radiance. Then, we use a fractional function to compensate variation of integration time. Thus, our proposed method can extract more precise spectral profile of radiance than conventional radiometric calibration method.

In this paper, the four-pole elliptic function microstrip filter at 2.4GHz band with fractional bandwidth of 4% is realized using compact miniaturized hairpin resonators. The parallel algorithm FDTD method is used to analyze S-parameter of hairpin resonator filter more accurately, and to calculate the electric coupling and magnetic coupling among the hairpin resonators. Absorbing boundary conditions for mesh termination used Sulivan's simplified PML and the FDTD code was paralleled by MPI for IBM SP2 which had enhanced calculation speed. The experimental measurements are performed by HP8720D vector network analyzer. Measured results on fabricated hairpin type cross coupled bandpass filters show good agreements with theoretic results.

Alpha stable distribution is better for modeling impulsive noises than Gaussian distribution in signal processing. This class of process has no closed form of probability density function and finite second order moments. In general, Wiener filter theory is not meaningful in S$\alpha$SG environments because the expectations may be unbounded. We proposed a new adaptive recursive least p-norm Kalman filtering algorithm based on least p-norm of innovation process with infinite variances, and a new robust multiuser detection method based on least p-norm Kalman filtering. The simulation experiments show that the proposed new algorithm is more robust than the conventional Kalman filtering multiuser detection algorithm.

저자들은 가와사키병 급성기에 치료에 반응하지 않은 저혈압(수축기 혈압 59 mmHg와 이완기 혈압 29 mmHg)과 수축기 심실 기능 부전(단축분획 22%)이 있던 7세 남아를 치료한 경험을 보고한다. 이 증례를 통해 가와사키병 급성기에 동반될 수 있는 유증상 심근염은 면역 글로블린 치료로 증상이 호전되지 않는 경우 스테로이드 펄스 요법이 필요함을 알 수 있다.

The extensive growth in data rate demand by the smart gadgets and mobile broadband application services in wireless cellular networks. To achieve higher data rate demand which leads to aggressive frequency reuse to improve network capacity at the price of Inter Cell Interference (ICI). Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) has been recognized as an effective scheme to get a higher data rate and mitigate ICI for perfect geometry network scenarios. In, an irregular geometric multicellular network, ICI mitigation is a challenging issue. The purpose of this paper is to develop distributed dynamic power allocation scheme for FFR based on game theory to mitigate ICI. In the proposed scheme, each cell region in an irregular multicellular scenario adopts a self-less behavior instead of selfish behavior to improve the overall utility function. This proposed scheme improves the overall data rate and mitigates ICI.
