  • This study examined and analyzed uses, transformations, changes of plane and arrangement, and changes of space structure of housing components with traditional folk houses located at Kyideok village, Hanrim-eup, Jeju, and the results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the exposure of arrangement of folk houses at Kyideok village, Jeju was evenly distributed to the east, the southeast, the northeast and the west in order and it was little different from the use of sunshine conditions by placing the main room on the south in traditional houses of land areas. Second, the space structure of inner room before transformation was divided into seven types. 3-room type was classified into "Sangbang-centered three-room type" and "nanggan-centered three-room type", 4-room type into "four-room type with inner access to warehouse", "four-room type with outer access to warehouse", "kitchen-divided four-room type", "four-room type with two kitchens", "four- room type with nanggan at the right back". Third, according to types of change in arrangement type, the first is new annex addition to existing inner room, the second is the removal of existing annexes including outer room, the third is the extension of inner room size without new construction of annex, the fourth is new construction of annex with new plane form after removal of existing annex, the fifth is no change in arrangement of inner room, outer room, stable, warehouse, etc. Fourth, transformation of space components led to changes of space structure as well as those of plane form. Changes of space structure were divided into reduction type of circulation to specific factors, negligence type without using increased space factor, and addition type having various circulations through the increase of convenience space.

  • Multistate survival data with censoring often arise in biomedical experiments. In particular, a four-state space is used for cancer clinical trials. In a four-state space, each patient may either respond to a given treatment and then relapse or may progress without responding. In this four-state space, a model which combines the Markov and semi-Markov models is proposed. In this combined model, the generalized maximum likelihood estimators of the Markov and semi-Markov hazard functions are derived. These estimators are illustrated for the data collected in a study of treatments for advanced breast cancer.

  • This study aims at providing suitable outdoor spaces for physical, social, and psychological condition of Korea elderly, examining design characteristics and presenting design guideline of outdoor space for elderly. To do this, this study examined previous research papers and scholastic writings, related to elderly housing, and analyzed existing outdoor space for elderly. Additionally evaluation of usage pattern and physical trace carried out four silver towns. As a result, first, the study showd that characteristics of outdoor space are related to safety, amenity, recognition and efficiency. Second, types of outdoor space in elderly related facilities are very limited in verity, just facilitating with rest space, sport space, and garden space. Third, from a standpoint of barrier-free-design, four silver town cases are not carefully concerning about outdoor space for elderly. These spaces should be designed for both neighborhood and elderly people.

  • We deal with the classification problem of real hypersurfaces in a complex hyperbolic space. In order to classify real hypersurfaces in a complex hyperbolic space we characterize a real hypersurface M in $H_n(\mathbb{C})$ whose structure vector field is not principal. We also construct extrinsically homogeneous real hypersurfaces with four distinct curvatures and their structure vector fields are not principal.

  • Numbers structure reality and define the way people live. Both in Daoism and in Daesoon Jinrihoe they signify key concepts, notably the cardinal numbers from one through nine that classify different dimensions of the cosmos. Beyond these, the number twenty-four plays an important role. In a temporal mode, it marks the divisions or seasonal periods of the year. Consisting of fifteen days each, these periods signal (and are named after) changes in dominant weather patterns and the position of the sun. Generally activated in the body through particular seasonal activities and dietary prescriptions, in Daoism they are also the root of a series of healing exercises and certain refinement practices of internal alchemy. In Daesoon Jinrihoe, moreover, they are activated by chanting a specific incantation that invokes the twenty-four divine rulers of the divisions, originally a group of Tang Dynasty officials that in nature and function resemble the spirit generals of the early Celestial Masters. Beyond this, the number twenty-four also applies to space. Not unlike the twenty-eight lunar stations or mansions, traditional cosmology acknowledges twenty-four directions, made up of six constellations each in the four cardinal directions, complete with starry deities and divine generals. Their powers are activated with the help of written characters rather than vocal incantations, using techniques common both in Daoism and Daesoon Jinrihoe.

  • We present a feasibility study of a data receiving station in Korea to be used for a 50cm UV space telescope proposed by CSA. The feasibility was investigated by examining the spacecraft visibiligy from four different cities in Korea, based on the orbital characteristics of the proposed spacecraft, i.e. inclination of $28.5^{\circ}$and circular orbit altitude of 690km. The satellite can be accessed from Korea about 4 times a day, each pass having the duration of to 9 minutes depending on the elevation mask and the latitude of each site. Provided that the X-Band signal can be retrieved from $10^{\circ}$ elevation. this study demonstrates that a ground station placed in any of the four cities can be used for a reasonable backup downlink of the science data gathered by the proposed UV space telescope.

  • In this paper, we extend the case of information exchange error mitigation for the distributed orthogonal space-time block code (DOSTBC) for two transmit antennas to distributed quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (DQOSTBC) for four transmit antennas. A rate 1 full-diversity DQOSTBC for four transmit antennas is designed. The code matrix changes according to different information exchange error cases, so full diversity is maintained even if not all information exchange is correct. We also perform analysis of the pairwise error probability. The performance analysis indicates that the proposed rate 1 DQOSTBC outperforms rate 1/2 DOSTBC for four transmit antennas at the same transmission rate, which is confirmed by the simulation results.

  • The 21st century is a multiplication age and social and cultural phenomena have become diverse and peoples' desires and individuality have become important. Accordingly, the sensibility that reflects human taste is also required in the exhibition space. The exhibitions in this age induce the direct cognition of senses or take interactive forms that contact diverse media and react. The purpose of this research is to define the concept of haptic presentation method in which the audience perceive in the exhibition space by themselves and the visual elements spread into other senses and perceive complexly, and to present the directional nature. To conduct this research, first, this researcher recognized that haptic sensory experiential research by analyzing the roles and transition history of exhibition space is needed for the present age Second, based on philosophical theories, four haptic sensory expression characteristics (medium nature, experiential nature, attractiveness, sensitiveness) were derived by substituting Giles Deleuze's four haptic spatial characteristics (grasping short distance, dispersed gaze, cognition of bodily movement, formation of synesthesia through complex senses) and six formative factors of exhibition space (space, form, size, light, quality of materials, and color). And the effective exhibition presentation methods were analyzed through six cases of experiential exhibition spaces. Accordingly, what matters in the experiential exhibition space is to produce the four characteristics: medium nature, experientiality, attractiveness, and sensitiveness in equilibrium. It is necessary for the designers to reflect it appropriately in producing so that the audience can think and experience by themselves. Accordingly, in this thesis, it could be seen that to produce the haptic production characteristics in the experiential exhibition space in equilibrium is the important factor in the experiential exhibition space. In conclusion, experiences in the exhibition space should be approached with the transcendental haptic presentation method by which even the space of actually unexperienced cognition can be expanded and experienced through the metastasis and tension of various senses. Also, researches on such senses should be developed continuously, and this researcher expects that this will become a stimulant to present a new directivity.

  • We need to think that space is not static but dynamic because it becomes wide and narrow, newly appears and disappears by human's behavior. Generally such movement in a space is a thing of feeling and dynamic about movement. But it is extending the experience of the subject by scientific technique's development and anticipation about the feature. The practical movement is actively introduced into architecture and interior design scope and occurs a trial about this movement. By using four elements -a form, hue, movement, light- kineticism becomes visual arts united with art and science. It recovers the art's sociality and arises participation of spectators. In the environment and art field kineticism is not simple ostentation but a current trial for human's mind and sensitivility. Kineticism is four-dimensional space considered by human's experience and is related to an observer, or experiential subject of space. Now the space except human's mind feature re-illuminates kineticism, that is, the field of the formative arts in the early part of the 20th century and gets to be 'the consensus space'.
