  • Culture speaks for the characters of the period, so it is presented by the mutual actions of many factors affecting culture. Foreign culture, introduced by cultural exchange, was modified and accepted into a new form and value system. In the beginning, only foreigners danced these dances, but Chinese started to dance them gradually. Thus, the dancing costume showed the complete fusion of Chinese and exotic styles. Especially, in the Tang dynasty, Chinese accepted foreign culture very actively and with open hearts. They accepted foreign culture based on their traditional culture, and fused them completely. In these costumes, not one culture was prominent, but many cultures from Gandhara to East and West Turkistan and even to Persian and Hellenism were synthesized together. Chinese, in the Tang dynasty, retained on their traditional culture and modified new foreign culture into Chinese style.

  • In the Tan dynasty it cultural style was very international and its culture actively absorbed other foreign culture. Moreover it was the time when the concept of barbarians(胡, hu) was applied widely and its culture got the tremendous influence from other foreign culture The influence from the barbarians were tremendous in Tang dynasty so that among the ten elements of the Sipbuak(十部樂) in Tang period only ChungSangAk(淸商樂, Qingshangyue) and YenAk(燕樂, Yenyue) were from their own Chinese culture(漢, Han). I wanted to discuss the influences of the Barbarians cultures on the dancing costumes in Tang period for it appeared to me that especially the dancing costume with the introduction of new foreign dances and their distinct styles in costumes would make a great impact on the dressing styles in Tang dynasty On the dancing costumes in tang dynasty we dan find the strong influences by the Barbarian style(胡風, hufeng), and even the authentic Chinese dressing styles of han period appear to be change quite a bit.

비즈니스 한국어 문화에 대한 외국인의 인식 연구 -유학 후 국내 기업에 종사하는 외국인 근로자를 대상으로- (The Study on Foreigners' Perception of Business Korean Culture: Concentrated on Foreign Workers after Studying in Korea)

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate foreigners' perception regarding Korean business culture and Korean business culture education. People who participated in this study are six foreign workers after studying at the university or graduate school in Korea. A phenomenological qualitative research method was used in this study in order to elicit life experiences from foreign workers who were working in Korea business companies. Therefore, their experience regarding Korean business culture and business culture education were measured by in-depth interviews. This study shows that nun-chi, vertical relationships, and impatience of Koreans are the most difficult culture to foreign workers. They also feel difficulties regarding Koreans' lack of understanding about other cultures. Moreover, these were not difficult components within school life; rather, the most difficult aspects were that they have never learned about the Korean business culture before getting a job. The results show that international students who want to work in Korea companies need to study about the culture of Korean business and revealed the desirability to learn. These results can be used as a foundation for understanding some contents and criterion of Korean business culture and education.

베트남, 캄보디아, 태국 헌법에 보이는 전통적 문화 요소 (Traditional Culture Features in the Constitutions of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand)

  • In this paper, we examine the traditional culture features of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand and above this we try to find out the evidences that traditional culture features are shown up through the Constitutions of three countries. First, for Vietnam, unlike the other two countries, we could find out the traditional culture feature of strong resistance and struggle against the foreign powers like China throughout the history. Also, the loyalty for the community and country could be added as the traditional culture features as well. In contrast, for Cambodia and Thailand, we could see other aspects of traditional culture features, such as the promotion and protection of Buddhism, historically sustained Kingship and respect for the King, the opportunistic foreign policy for the foreign powers to national survive. Furthermore, we could find out the evidences that these traditional culture features are shown implicitly or explicitly in the Constitutions of the three countries in all. Although three countries have different historical backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and value systems, we could see that the Constitution of the three countries show that the traditional culture features are vigorously alive in it. Thus, we can say that this proves that the flow of traditional culture features are not easily changed or stopped by an era or ideology and still alive in the heart of the people.

  • 최근 들어 문화 콘텐츠의 급속한 발전이 있었음에도 불구하고 문화 콘텐츠 전문양성과 관련한 연구는 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 문화 콘텐츠와 관련된 국내외 사례를 기반으로 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 해외 사례로서 미국, 일본, 영국, 호주, 캐나다 등 5개국의 문화 콘텐츠 전문 양성 기관에 대한 현황에 대해 살펴보았으며, 국내 대학 기관의 교육 현황에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 기반으로 국내 문화 콘텐츠 전문 인력 양성에 있어 문제점을 파악하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 제안을 제시하였다.

문화에 대한 태도와 학습동기가 사관생도의 영어 성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Attitudes Toward Culture and Motivation on Military Cadets' English Achievement)

  • Attitudes toward target language culture and motivation have been known as important factors in second or foreign language learning. In this study, cadets' attitudes toward the target language community and culture were investigated to find out any relationships with English achievement. Integrative or instrumental motivation in foreign military context was investigated to determine which motivation was more positively related to English proficiency. Cadets' responses were shown highly positive and internally consistent in most cases. Military cadets' attitudes toward American culture were statistically significant and could predict their English achievement. Even though integrative motivation was statistically significant, correlation with English achievement was low. However, instrumental motivation was not significant. This result implies that attitudes toward culture is an important factor in foreign language learning and integrative-instrumental motivation dichotomy might not be enough to explain specific context like cadets' English learning situation at Korea Army Academy at Youngcheon.

Influence of Foreign Culture and Hybrid Culture: The Case of Kandyan Kingdom of Sri Lanka

  • Culture has played a pivotal role in fashion from time immemorial. The objective of this research is to explore the power of cultural affiliation in fashion. The selected study setting is the Kandyan Kingdom of Sri Lanka. The Kandyan Kingdom of Sri Lanka lasted almost 3 1/2 centuries from 1474-1815. The whole period faced different foreign cultural forces. As a result of such diverse cultural influences the Kandyan dress showed a hybrid formation of Western and South Indian and Sinhalese traditional sartorial features. Sewing techniques and unsewn dress arrangement methods were mixed together. The dress became an amazing blend of Eastern and Western dress items. They combined different aspects of foreign dress together to yield a unique result. The analysis comprises observational study of actual descriptions made by observer- participants, historical records, murals of the period review of ancient literature and research papers relevant to the subject. Reliability of the data was ensured. The pictorial data were cross checked from different literary sources. Many original sources were used. Results: Culture and fashion have strong interconnection. When features of culture change, trends of fashion are gradually correspondingly changed.

  • War against Japanese(1592-1599) and war against Manchurian(1636-1637), which had been occurred in Korean Peninsula throughout the history, and frequent trade with foreign countries since $18^{th}$ century have led to a distribution of foreign food into Korea. Several examples for this include tomato, apple, watermelon, maize, pea, cowpea, peanut, potato from China and red pepper, pumpkin, and sweet potato from Japan. Since these foods had been brought into Korea, they have been cultivated suitable for Korea's climate and land. Foreign foods with a few exceptions tend to have high calories. For instance, along with potato and sweet potato, pumpkin is considered a high-calorie food containing lots of starches as it becomes ripening. This helped a wide spread of the foreign foods across the nation where intake of high-calorie foods was critical for Korean people's nutrition at that time. Among those foods introduced from foreign countries, red pepper had a greatest impact on the dietary life-style of Chosun Dynasty. The use of red pepper has been greatly expanded from main ingredient to seasoning and garnishing in various forms of red pepper such as red pepper paste, red pepper powder, and thick soy paste mixed with red pepper. Red pepper was made eating habits is hot besides dye red colored to traditional food, because steaming and boiling is frequently cook method, fermentation food also food color is achromatic therefore food color is and mixture with red pepper, picked fish and chinese cabbage new kimchi culture came into being.

  • In recent years, there has been a growing trend of occupational accidents involving foreign workers. As the number of foreign workers continues to increase, the risk of occupational accidents is also on the rise. Therefore, it is crucial to take proactive measures to prevent occupational accidents among foreign workers. To establish a common safety culture among foreign workers with varied backgrounds and educational experiences, and which is harmonized with Korean workplace. Safety communication, which includes culture respect and participation in the workplace, plays a significant role in shaping and developing the safety culture of foreign workers. Therefore, this study aims to assess the level of safety culture in workplace employing foreign workers by analyzing the reliability and validity of factors such as 'occupational accident awareness' and 'safety communication,' which constitute the safety culture at these workplace. Additionally, the mediating effect of 'work proficiency' on the relationship between 'safety communication' and the level of improvement in 'occupational accident awareness' using the validation method proposed by Baron & Kenny(1986). As a result of statistical analysis, The influence of'safety communication'on'occupational accident awareness'is 𝛽=0.339, and it has been found that this influence decreases to 𝛽=0.113 when'work proficiency'is introduced, indicating partial mediation.

국내외 조리시간의 갈등요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Complication factors between foreign and domestic chefs)

  • This study attempts to identify the level of conflicts occurring between foreign and domestic chefs, and to suggest the way of controlling those conflicts in order to well manage human resources, foreign chefs. Based on the empirical research, the research findings shows that in terms of targeting and achieving objectives different level of conflicts are experienced when age, hotel type, position varies. For example. purchasing excessive foreign foods may cause undesirable stock which will lead to considerable loss. In order to overcome this problem the advantages of the chain-operated and the independent hotel's food purchasing system must be incorporated. Secondly, another conflicts arise when the architecture and system of a kitchen is different from what foreign chefs are familiar with. Kitchen architecture and system should be well-designed in terms of delivery channel, sanitation, safety, food control, banquet etc.. In developing menu, chefs often have different criteria in the scale of sweet and salt of a particular dish. Foreign chefs often blame his subordinates for not meeting his requirements without proper training or education. Finally, because of the different culture, communication as well as the lack of mutual understanding problem occur. Even though today is called global town. some chefs do not seem to open their minds to learn other developing countries' culture. In diversity management aspect, chefs need to put much effort to be aware of other countries' culture, history, political and economic situation. In prior to employing foreign chefs, the job enrollment and description must be prepared so as to minimize the conflicts, which otherwise will create poor job performance.
