In order to understand the symbolic meaning of the dog in my dream more broadly, this paper aims to examine the symbolic meaning of the dog in various cultures and to understand the inner side in depth through such a process. Just as the growth of a person's character can be achieved through the conscious of the unconsciousness, looking at the contents of dreams made up of symbolic images is an important part of the growth of a person's character. In this paper, I first looked at the biological background of dogs and looked at various cultural symbols of dogs that appear in fairytales, myths, religions and folklore. Next, I reflected how Jung psychology looked at the symbol of the dog and finally discussed what the symbol of the dog in my dream had in the process of analyzing the dream.

The analysis of exotic style in domestic fashion brand items aims to offer the ideas necessary for the style and item developments and to analyze exotic images and styles accepted in domestic fashion market. Therefore this study analyzed the domestic fashion brand items and categorized the main exotic factors and styles so that would catch on to its characters and appearance frequency. As for the research method of this study, the frequency and content multi-dimensional analysis were used in the investigation of the exotic images appearing in the domestic fashion brands. The styles of exotic image in domestic fashion brand items are 'natural' style, 'primitive' style, 'ethnic' style, and 'maximalism' style. Also, the main exotic factors in each exotic style were composed of a few exotic images such as 'natural', 'primitive', 'ethnic', 'romantic', 'elegance', 'splendid', 'seductive', 'retro', 'traditional', 'classical', 'bohemian', 'vintage', 'kidult', 'artistic', 'extreme compromise', and 'modern'.

The Korean folk drama is one of the traditional art performances of Korean folklore, and it is usually characterized by mask dances. An investigation on the costume of Korean folk drama is of great historical significance because they present the variety of typical costume according to the characters. The Sandae-Nori drama of Seoul Gyeong-gi province which was designated as im- portant culture property, has the closest form to general Korean folk costume. The usual characters have their typical costume and reflect the costume of the latter Choson Dynasty period. The costumes are used as a tool of the drama to indicate the character, and the impression of the dance. The costume of the Korean folk drama is made to indicate the character because it is for the play. What is more, the costume of the Sandae-Nori drama of Seoul Gyeong-gi province shows the general aspect of folk costume of the world, which remains as the symbol of the traditional culture and shows more decoration and visibility.

The international government committee is progressing their agreements about intellectual property protection of traditional knowledge(TK), gene resource(GR), folklore(FL) in WIPO. It is in the course of selection with precedence of TK, GR, FL in WlPO, focused on discussions about listing of TK documents, standardization of DB construction, sharing and profit distribution of GR. Their are disagreements between developed countries and underdeveloped countries about intellectual property protection agreements of TK, GR. The developed countries insist on using, the existing intellectual property protections, but the underdeveloped countries ask new ones on character of TK, GR, It causes intangible assets to be valuable trade properties in future world trade. We have to make national plans to face agreements about IP of TK, GR in WIPO with our own TK, GR. We must have a basic attitude about laying down these plans such as raising national economy, considering our TK, GR to be relics of mankind culture. In addition to these, it needs accurate analysis about agreements in WIPO, our TK, GR, scientific mechanical level and capital power.

The 21/sup st/ century is a society based on knowledge, so in economic activities, it has emphasized the importance of information such as intellectual property or intangible asserts. Especially, according to the agreement on trade related as parts of intellectual property rights in WTO, it is used as the method of commercial entente and monopoly for intellectual property in an advanced nation. For this reason, WIPO and UNESCO discussed a complement for intellectual property on the foundation of traditional knowledge such as traditional knowledge (TK), genetic resources (GR) and traditional cultural expressions (TCE, folklore). Korea has a lot of knowledge falling under TK, GR, and TCE because of the long history of the country. In the case of traditional medical care, it has been used in the public health system. It is hard to apply these rights to traditional medical care of Korea because the laws of intellectual property have been established under the ideas of western culture. It is necessary to improve the classification system of traditional knowledge and patents. In the patent classified system of IPC, it needs to be related to the research between the classified system for massive technology and the classified system for traditional clinic technology.

This research examines the characteristic trends through analysis on cue in the contemporary fashion distinctly and systematically. It is carried out by both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. In the qualitative analysis, the four important street fashions of neo-mods/jazz, neo-hippie/grunge, sportivecasual and technos/cyber-punk are grouped. In the quantitative analysis, statistical data are sampled from Collection II of the 1990s S/S. It takes frequency, percentage, $\chi^2$-test and etc. by using the comprehensive tools for statistical treatment. There were significant differences between the S/S fashion. According to the cues, there are also significant differences between the fashion in the 1990s. In 'Neo-Mos/Jazz' style shows highly androgynous look, deep and strong tone, green/blue colors, natural fabric, stripe pattern, long hair style, and hided make-up. 'Neo-hippie/gnenge' style shows highly folklore look, vivid tone purple colors, seethrough/knit fabric, natural /traditional pattern, decorative hair special makeup. 'Sportive casuals' style shows highly sportive look, greish tone, white/grey colours, natural fabric, solid patten, bobbed hair, and natural make-up. 'Techno/cyber punk style shows highly comocorps look, pale tone black colors avangard fabric, solid patten, punk/dyed hair special make-up.

This dissertation intended to investigate the black color as a fashion color of the late 20th century and the aesthetic consciousness of black fashion. Black usually expressed a negative meaning, and was regarded as a color for a mourning and a sacred dress in western culture. There found several periods of black trend specially after 14th century. Black was considered as a traditional color of men's fashion since Dandyism. By the effect of art d co fashion, the perception toward black changed to a new beauty in 20th century. There continuously found a lot of aspects of black fashion in the late 20th century. In the high fashion, popularity of black, could be seen at five different look and style : The era of line alphabet, pantaloons suit style, folklore style, mannish look and unconstructive design by Japanese, and in street fashion, it showed at four different style and fashion: Beat style, mods and rockers style, punk fashion and fetish fashion. The aesthetic consciousness of black fashion at the late 20th century mentioned above should be summarized as follows. : Minimalism, dandyism, nihilism, asceticism, eroticism. In 1990s, the black appeared under the retro mood, and it should be regarded specially as one fashion trend of inclination of simplicity. Black should be called the representative color of 20th century fashion with the reason of containing the most of aesthetic consciousness in modern fashion.

Elsholtzia spp., a herbaceous perennial plant grown worldwide, have been used as a folklore medicine. Due to the presence of flavonoid in their extracts, Elsholtzia spp. have various functional properties. The objective of this research was to compare the amount of flavonoids in Elsholtzia spp. extracts in order to improve the potential of by using their functional properties. Elsholtzia spp. were collected in various areas of Korea. These were divided into leaf, flower, stem, and root. Each sample was dried using various drying method and ground to a powder. The powdered sample prepared was extracted with 80% ethanol. Extracts were analysed for the content of total flavonoids and apigenin by HPLC. Higher content of flavonoids was observed in the extracts of leaves and flowers. In previous study, apigenin among flavonoids was detected from Elsholtzia spp. so, apigenin content was analysed by HPLC. According to the results, the extracts of leaf and flower had the higher apigenin content than other samples.

The mainly purpose of this research was to investigate tendency of changes regarding the recipe of Naengmyeon (Korean cold noodles) based on water. In order to conduct of this research, we analyze the recipe data published in Korea from 1800's to 1980's. A method of mainly study was conducted by content analysis and literature review. The documents of recipe used research were 42 literatures (euigwae, recipe book, magazines, and dictionaries). In addition, the recipes of Naengmyeon based on water were total method of 84. The results of an analysis of recipe data published in the last 200 years showed 3 different types of the recipe of Naengmyeon based on water; 1) Naengmyeon based on water of Kimchi juice type 2) Naengmyeon based on water of (meat) broth type 3) Naengmyeon based on water of mixed (Kimchi juice+broth) type.

This study aims at reviewing the Kitsch aesthetics, grasping the relation between the Kitsch and consumption culture, and pursuing the intrincis meanings and expressive characteristics of Kitsch in the hair style and head dress in the 1990s. Kitsch generally implies a vulgarity, and a bad taste, and can be considered to be a kind of vicarious experience, the aesthetic deception and self-deception. In spite of these negative inplications of Kitsch, the aesthetic categories of Kitsch have been spread to public and been accepted by the public, with the help of the powerful promotion of the modern day mass media. 1. The intrincis meanings of Kitsch convey 1) escapism, 2) conformity, 3) amusements, 4) identification. 2. The expressive characteristics of Kitsch represent 1) aesthetic inadequacy: hair style and head dress showing the imperpectness, accumulation(superfluous ornaments), vulgarity, untidines. 2) resistance: hair style and head dress featuring deconstructional and violent forms revealing the uneasiness, and unsatisfaction of the given regularity. 3) humor: hair style and head dress featuring the innocence, humor, and fun for a relaxation and diversion. 4) hedonism: hair style and head dress with the erotic and sexual feelings. 5) retro, romantism: hair style and head dress featuring the elegance, femininity, folklore, ethnic, and nostalgia.
