뼈 대체용 생체활성 다공질 세라믹스의 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of Bioactive Porous Ceramics for Bone Substitution)

  • Porous hydroxyapatite(HA) and HA-coated porous $Al_2O_3$ possessing pore characteristics required for bone substitutes were prepared by a slurry foaming method combined with gelcasting. The HA coating was deposited by heating porous $Al_2O_3$ substrates in an aqueous solution containing $Ca^{2+}$ and ${PO_4}^{3-}$ ions at $65{\sim}95^{\circ}C$ under ambient pressure. The pore characteristic, microstructure, and compressive strength were investigated and compared for the two kinds of samples. The porosity of the samples was about 81% and 80% for HA and $Al_2O_3$, respectively with a highly interconnected network of spherical pores with size ranging from 50 to $250{\mu}m$. The porous $Al_2O_3$ sample showed much higher compressive strength(25 MPa) than the porous HA sample(10 MPa). Fairly dense and uniform HA coating(about $2{\mu}m$ thick) was deposited on the porous $Al_2O_3$ sample. Since the compressive strength of cancellous bone is $2{\sim}12$ MPa, both the porous HA and HA-coated porous $Al_2O_3$ samples could be successfully utilized as scaffolds for bone repair. Especially the latter is expected suitable for load bearing bone substitutes due to its excellent strength.

  • The extracts and pure saponins from the roots of Platycodon grandiflorum (PG) are reported to have a wide range of health benefits. Platycosides (saponins) from the roots of PG are characterized by a structure containing a triterpenoid aglycone and two sugar chains. Saponins are of commercial significance, and their applications are increasing with increasing evidence of their health benefits. The biological effects of saponins include cytotoxic effects against cancer cells, neuroprotective activity, antiviral activity, and cholesterol lowering effects. Saponins with commercial value range from crude plant extracts, which can be used for their foaming properties, to high purity saponins such as platycodin D, which can be used for its health applications (e.g., as a vaccine adjuvant). This review reveals that platycosides have many health benefits and have the potential to be used as a remedy against many of the major health hazards (e.g., cancer, obesity, alzheimer's) faced by populations around the world. Methods of platycoside purification and analysis are also covered in this review.

  • 천연계 비이온 계면활성제 APG(Alkyl Polyglucoslde)는 옥수수 성분의 글루코스와 팜, 야자유에서 얻어지는 지방 알코올을 이용하여 합성된다. 친수성인 글루코스의 중합도(D.P.=1.2~1.8)와 소수성인 alkyl chain 길이 (C8-C14)에 따른 계면특성(표면 계면장력, cmc, 기포력, effectiveness 등)을 조사한 바 중합도에는 영향이 적으나, alkyl chain 길이에는 큰 영향을 받았다. 지방산 오염에 대한 APG alkyl chain 길이별 세정력 평가를 한 결과 계면 장력이 낮을수록, 단위 면적당 흡착량이 많을수록 우수한 세정력을 나타내었으며, 그 순서는 APG 0814> APG 1214> APG 10> APG 0810> APG 08과 같다.

발포제 종류에 따른 페놀 폼의 물성 연구 (Effect of Blowing Agents on Properties of Phenolic Foam)

  • 본 연구에서는 LNG나 LPG등과 같은 초저온용 단열재로 사용되는 폴리우레탄 폼을 대체하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 레졸형 페놀수지를 사용하여 페놀 폼을 합성하였다. 페놀 수지 발포 폼을 합성하기 위해 HCFC-141b, HFC-365mfc와 HFC-227fa의 혼합물, n-pentane, cyclopentane, n-hexane 및 cyclohexane을 발포제로 사용하여 발포제에 따른 페놀수지 폼의 물성변화를 고찰하였다. 발포제로 cyclohexane을 사용하였을때 가장 우수한 단열성능과 압축강도를 나타내었으며 동일한 발포제를 사용하여 합성한 폴리우레탄 폼과의 내열성을 비교한 결과 폴리우레탄 폼에 비해 매우 우수한 내열성을 나타내었다.

나프티온산 유도체의 합성 및 계면활성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Synthesis and Surface Activities of Naphthionic Acid Derivatives)

  • Four amphoteric surfactants, 1-(N-alkyl-N,N-dimethyl ammonio)-4-naphthalene sulfonates, were prepared by the alkylation of 1-(N,N-dimethylamino)-4,naphthalene sulfonic acid with chloroalkanes such as 1-decylchloride, 1-tetradecyl chloride and 1-hexadecyl chloride. These quaternary ammonium compounds such as 1-(N-decyl-N, N-dimethylammonio)-4-naphthalene sulfonate, 1-(N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethylammonio)-4-naphthalene sulfonate, 1-(N-tetradecyl-N,N-dimethylammonio)-4-naphthalene sulfonate and 1-(N-hexadecyl-N,N-dimethylammonio)-4-naphthalene sulfonate could be separated by means of thin layes chromatography and column chromatography. The surface chemical properties such as surface tension, foaming power, foam stability, wetting efficiency and solubilizing effect for these four compounds were measured. Also critical micelle concentration and hydrophilic-lipophilic balance(HLB) were evaluated. These compounds showed good surface as O/W type emulsifying agent and detergent.

알루미늄용 산성탈지제의 제조 및 탈지특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Acidic Degreasing Agents for Aluminum)

  • Acidic degreasing agent(AADA) was prepared by blending sorbitol, Newpol PE-68, Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate, Tetronix T-70l, MJU-100A, n-octanoic acid, and phosphoric acid, The physical properties of AADA tested with aluminum specimen showed the following results ; when 3wt% AADA-5 was performed at 70$^{\circ}C$, the degreasing rate was 95% which is comparitively good, and the percentage of etching was 0.277% which was found to be less than that of commercialized product. when 20wt% of AADA-5 was added at 65$^{\circ}C$, the percentage of derusting was 91% and the good defoaming effect proved by following low foaming power tests respectively : Ross and Miles, and Ross and Clark methods.

철강용 알칼리 분말세정제의 제조 및 세정해석 (Preparation and Analysis of Alkaline Powder Cleaning Agents for Steel)

  • Alkaline powder cleaning agents (APCAs) were prepared by blending of $Na_2CO_3$ tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP). sodium orthosilicate (Na-OSi), Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate (303C), Demol C, and MJU-100A (100A). The physical properties of APCAs tested with steel specimen showed the following results. The cleaning powers of APCA-6 ($Na_2CO_3$ 250g/TSPP 70g/Na-OSi 40g/303C 60g/Demol C 50g/100A 30g mixture) for press-rust preventing oil was 97% and 98% degreasing at 2wt%, $70^{\circ}C$ and $90^{\circ}C$, respectively; for Quenching oil, the cleaning power of APCA-6 was 95% degreasing at 2wt% and $70^{\circ}C$. From the results, it was ascertained that APCA-6 exhibited a good cleaning power. Also low foaming power tests proved that the APCA-6 maintained good defoaming effect.

  • It is required to use substantial amount of wet strength resin for producing multi-functional mulch papers since these paper products shold maintain its strength properties when they exposed to outdoor weather for several months. While producing mulch papers it is usual to observe significant amount of foam at white water silo. Thus it is imperative to use defoaming or antifoaming agents. In this study diverse defoaming and antifoaming agents have been tested for their effective-ness in eliminating foams that produced. It was shown that combined use of a silicone type defoamer and a fatty acid type anti-foaming agent was msot effective in eliminating foams. These chemicals were used in trial production of mulch papers and their influence on paper-making wet end system was examined including one pass retention cationic demand con-ductivity pH etc. It was found that the defoaming agents were very effective for removing foams in trial production. Tensile strengths of the mulch papers produced were significantly greater than commericial mulch papers produced in Japan.

경질 PU발포공정에 있어서 EG의 첨가가 발포체의 구조와 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Introducing EG on Foamed Cellular Structure and Properties in the Foaming Process of Rigid PU)

  • 본 연구에서는 polyol, MDI, 실리콘 유화제, 물을 기본 폴리우레탄 조성으로 설정하였으며, 경질 폴리우레탄 폼에 있어서 sitff-chain 요소인 에틸렌 글리콜의 첨가에 의하여 가교밀도가 증가하며, 이에 따른 셀의 크기, 발포 배율, cream time, gel time, take free time의 변화, 최종 자유 발포체 높이, 반응 온도, 단열도 변화를 관찰하였다. 발포제는 시클로펜탄을 사용하여 경질 물리우레탄을 발포하였으며, 상온, 상압에서 hand mixing 으로 5000 rpm, 4sec의 범위 안에서 혼합시킨 뒤에, 에틸렌 글리콜의 양을 변화시켜 200 ${\times}$ 200 ${\times}$ 200 mm 내의 나무 금형 안에서 발포 실험하였다. 이소시아네이트 인덱스를 고정시켰을 경우 에틸렌글리콜의 양이 증가함에 따라 셀의 크기는 약 5.1%와 열전도는 약 14%가 감소하였다.

섬유상 여과필터의 고온 내구성 향상을 위한 테프론 코팅 연구 (Teflon coating of fabric filters for enhancement of high temperature durability)

  • Fabric fibrous filter has been used in various industrial applications owing to the low cost and wide generality. However, the basic properties of fabric materials often limit the practical utilization including hot gas cleaning. This study attempts to find new coatings of porous fibrous filter media in order to overcome its insufficient thermal resistance and durability. Teflon was one of the plausible chemicals to supplement the vulnerability against frequent external thermal impacts. A foaming agent composed of Teflon and some organic additives was tentatively coated on the glass fiber mat. The present test Teflon foam coated filter was fount to be useful for hot gas cleaning, up to $250^{\circ}C$-$300^{\circ}C$. Close examination using XPS(X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) and Contact angle proved the binding interactions between carbon and fluorine, which implies coating stability. The PTFE/Glass foam coated filter consisted of more than 95% (C-F)n bond, and showed super-hydrophobic with good-oleophobic characteristics. The contact angle of liquid droplets on the filter surface enabled to find the filter wet-ability against liquid water or oil.
