This study describes the optimum mix proportion of the high strength and self-compacting concrete placed in main structures of LNG above tank. This concrete requires high strength level about $60{\sim}80MPa$, low hydration heat, balance between workability and consistency without vibrating in the actual work. For this purpose, low heat portland cement and fly ash are selected and design factors including water-binder ratio, replacement ratio of fly ash are tested. As experimental results, low heat portland cement shows lower the confined water ratio than another cement type and the optimum replacement ratio of fly ash in order to improve properties of the binder-paste shows 10% by cement weight considering test results of the confined water ratio$({\beta}p)$. Also, flowability of the high strength and self-compacting concrete by using fly ash about $10{\sim}20%$ is improved. The replacement ratio of fly ash 10% and water-binder ratio $25{\sim}27%$ are suitable to the design strength 80MPa and cost, In case of the design strength 60MPa, the replacement ratio of fly ash and water-binder ratio show 20% and $25{\sim}30%$ separately. Based on the results of this study, the optimum mix proportions of the high strength and self-compacting concrete will be applied to the construction of LNG above tank as a new type.
This paper predicts the cementing efficiency of fly-ash(FA) based on mortar test considering binder-water ratio and FA replacement ratio as experimental variables. The cementing efficiency prediction model proposed by statistical analysis enables us to estimate the value according to the binder-water ratio and FA replacement ratio of matrix. When FA replacement ratio is the same, the lower the binder-water ratio, the higher the estimated cementing efficiency. There are significant differences in the values according to binder-water ratio at FA replacement ratios of 15% or less, but there are almost no differences when FA replacement ratio is more than 15%. As the binder-water ratio increases, the variations in the values according to FA replacement ratio are great at FA replacement ratios of 15% or less. As the FA replacement ratios increase, the values increase for FA replacement ratios of 15% or less, but decrease for more than 15%. The values range from -0.71 to 1.24 at binder-water ratio of 1.67-2.86 and FA replacement ratio of 0-70%. The RMSE of the 28-day compressive strength predicted by modified water-cement ratio is 2.2 MPa. The values can be trusted, as there is good agreement between predicted strength and experimental strength.
The purpose of this study to fine the mixture of concrete for Top-Down method. As a result, In fresh concrete, slump value and slump-flow value were increased as fly ash concrete(10% ratio). When plasticizer was added 1.5% by weigh of binder in concrete, no fly ash concrete and fly ash concrete(10% ratio) all occurred segregation. And, no fly ash concrete and fly concrete(10% ratio) all showed compressive strength development close plain concrete as increasing plasticizer quantity. Especially, in case of 1.5% plasticizer of binder showed high compressive strength development.
The effects of fly ash and superplasticizer (SP) on workability of concrete are quite difficult to predict because they are dependent on other concrete ingredients. Because of high complexity of the relations between workability and concrete compositions, conventional regression analysis could be not sufficient to build an accurate model. In this study, a workability model has been built using artificial neural networks (ANN). In this model, the workability is a function of the content of all concrete ingredients, including cement, fly ash, blast furnace slag, water, superplasticizer, coarse aggregate, and fine aggregate. The effects of water/binder ratio (w/b), fly ash-binder ratio (fa/b), superplasticizer-binder ratio (SP/b), and water content on slump were explored by the trained ANN. This study led to the following conclusions: (1) ANN can build a more accurate workability model than polynomial regression. (2) Although the water content and SP/b were kept constant, a change in w/b and fa/b had a distinct effect on the workability properties. (3) An increasing content of fly ash decreased the workability, while raised the slump upper limit that can be obtained.
Prepacked concrete has recently been used in the special constructions fields such as underwater concrete work, heavy-weight concrete work, underground structure work, partial repair works for damaged reinforced concrete structures. and polymer-modified mortars have been employed as grouting mortars for the prepacked concrete. The purpose of this study is to recommend the optimum mix design of polymer-modified grouting mortars for prepacked concrete. Polymer-modified mortars using SBR and EVA emulsions as admixture of grouting mortars for prepacked concrete are prepared with various mix proportions such as sand-binder ratio, fly ash replacement ratio, polymer-binder ratio. and tested for flowability, viscosity of grouting mortars, bleeding ratio, expansion ratio, flexural and compressive strengths of grouting mortars and compressive and tensile strengths of prepacked concretes. From the test results, it is apparent that polymer-modified mortars can be produced as grouting mortars when proper mix design is chosen. We can design the mix proportions of high strength mortars for prepacked concrete according to the control of mix design factors such as type of polymer, polymer-binder ratio, sand-binder ratio and fly ash replacement ratio. Water-binder ratio of plain mortars for a constant flowability value are in the ranges of 43% to 50%. SBR-modified mortar has a little water-binder ratios compared to those of plain mortar, however, EVA-modified mortar needs a high water-binder ratio due to a high viscosity of polymer dispersion. The expansion and bleeding ratios of grouting mortars are also controlled in the proper value ranges. Polymer-modified grouting mortars have good flexural. compressive and tensile strengths, are not affected with various properties with increasing fly ash replacement to cement and binder-sand ratio. In this study, SBR-modified grouting mortar with a polymer-binder ratio of 10% or less, a fly ash replacement of 10% to cement and a sand-binder ratio of 1.5 is recommended as a grouting mortar for prepacked concrete.

To study of binder and fine aggregate a lot of replacement fly-ash concrete, initial characteristics, standard environment of curing temperature $20^{\circ}C$, hot-weather environment, cold weather environment of curing temperature $5^{\circ}C$. Flash concrete tested slump, air contest, setting and Hardening concrete valuated setting period of form, day of age 3, 7, 28 compression strength in sealing curing. Underwater curing specimen compression strength of age 3. 7, 28day used strength change accordingly fly-ash concrete curing temperature. Purpose of study is consultation materials in field that variety of fly-ash replacement concrete mix proportion comparison and valuation. (1) Setting test result, fly-ash ratio of replacement higher delay totting time. Same volume of fly-ash ratio of replacement is lower fly-ash ratio of replacement fine aggregate delay setting time. Setting test in curing temperature $35^{\circ}C$ over twice fast setting in curing temperature $20^{\circ}C$ and all specimen setting delay in curing temperature $5^{\circ}C$. F40 specimen end of setting about 30 time. (2) Experiment result age 28day compression strength more fisher plan concrete then standard environment in curing temperature $20^{\circ}C$, cold weather environment in curing temperature $5^{\circ}C$, most strength F43 is hot-weather environment in curing temperature $35^{\circ}C$ replacement binder 25%, fine aggregate 15%. (3) Hot-weather environment replacement a mount of fly-ash is a same of plan concrete setting period of form. The purpose of this study is investigating characteristics of the concrete containing Fly-ash according to different 4 mix design, that is, the first mix design is partial replace Fly-ash of cement, second is partial replace Fly-ash of cement and fine aggregate, third is partial replace Fly-ash of fine aggregate, fourth partial replacement of fine and coarse aggregate. For this purpose, selected test variables were water-binder ratio with two levels of 45%, 50%, and Fly-ash contents with four levels 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, As the result of this study are as follow. 1) The result of mix design of a partial replacement of cement, the slump-flow value was appeared a promotive effect of viscosity. But in case of the over with Fly-ash 10% and the other mix design was not changed slump value. 2) The unit weight of the mixing rate with Fly-ash 0% was $1.875{\sim}1.884t/m^3$, the other mix design 10% over with Fly-ash was $1.846{\sim}1.615t/m^3$, the difference was appeared less about 15% than that. 3) In design, partial replace Fly-ash of fine aggregate, this compressive strength was appeared that the concrete age after 7 days was higher than in partial replacement of cement, therefore, the default of a concrete with Fly-ash, that is the earlier compressive strength was to lessen, was improved. 4) The thermal conductivity of the all mix design was $0.447{\sim}1.144kcal/mh^{\circ}C$, this value was as good as a lightweight aggregate concrete.
Results of an experimental study on the manufacture, the workability and mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced polyester resin composites utilizing industrial waste products are presented in this paper. The fly ash polyester resin composites using steel fiber, fly ash and calcium carbonic acid (CaCo3), unsaturated polyester resin, styrene monomer, cobalt octate and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, fine and coarse aggregates are prepared with various filler~binder rations, binder rates and mixing conditions. As a test results, the workability of steel fiber reinforced polyester resin composites are considerably dropped with increasing fly ash-binder ratio and steel fiber volume. And compressive, flexural strength and bending toughness of the composites are remarkably improved with augmenting fiber contents.
Preplaced aggregate concrete in the building fields has recently been used in the partial repair works for damaged reinforced concrete structures, and polymer-modified mortars have been employed as grouting mortars for the preplaced aggregate concrete. The objective of this study is to clear the properties of polymer-modified grouting mortars. Polymer-modified mortars using a polystyrene acrylic(St/Ac) emulsion as grouting mortars for preplaced aggregate concrete are prepared with various mix proportions, and tested for flexural and compressive strengths, adhesion in tension. The flexural strength of emulsion-modified grouting mortars does not give much variation with increasing fly ash replacement for cement and sand-binder ratio. With increasing polymer-binder ratio, the flexural strength and adhesion in tension of St/Ac emulsion-modified grouting mortars increases, become nearly constant or reaches a maximum at a polymer-binder ratio of 5%. From the test results, St/Ac emulsion-modified grouting mortar with a polymer-binder ratio of 5%, a fly ash replacement of 10% for cement and sand-binder ratio of 1.0 is recommended as a grouting mortar for preplaced aggregate concrete.
