New Strategy to Estimate The Rotor Flux of Induction Motor by Analyzing Observer Characteristic Function

  • This paper proposes a new strategy to estimate the rotor flux of an induction machine for the direct field oriented control. Electrical model of the induction machine presents the basic idea based on observer structure, which is composed of voltage model and current model. But the former has the defects in low speed range, the latter has the defects of sensitivity to machine parameters. In spite of these shortcomings, the closed loop flux observer based on two models has been prevalent estimation method for the direct field oriented control. In this paper, generalized analysis method named "observer characteristic function method"is proposed to analyze the kinds of the linear flux observers in unified form. With the observer characteristic function, the estimated rotor flux error involved in the classical methods can be easily clarified. Moreover, the novel rotor flux observer based on this analysis is also presented and the effectiveness of the observer has been verified by the simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper presents a flux estimator for the sensorless vector control of induction motors. The proposed method utilize the combination of the voltage model based on stator equivalent model and the current model based on rotor equivalent model, which enables stable estimation of rotor flux in high speed region and in low speed region. The dynamic performance of proposed method is verified through the experiment. The experimental results show that motors ran easily start even under 150[%] load condition and operate continuously below 0.5[Hz].

Tubular motor의 자속분포 특성 해석을 위한 유한요소법 적용연구 (A study on the application of finite element method to analysis of the magnetic flux distribution characteristics of the tubular motor)

  • In this paper, the finite element method is applied to find the flux distribution of the magnetic field in the end region of the tubular motor. In order to analyze two-dimensional flux distribution, the r-z domain to be analyzed is subdivided into 56 nodes, 84 elements. In the case of wt=O and .pi./2, the flux distribution is shifted to the edge with frequency (w) and time (t) increase in the edge and the air gap. It is proved that this study does fit the actual phenomena.

  • In this paper, for high performance as drive, in the speed sensorless vector control of induction motor, introduced flux estimator of voltage model and error compensation algorithm using closed loop integration method, and then we proposed a improved flux estimation method of high accuracy. And the rotor speed is estimating using the stator current and the estimated flux, it is used speed information. The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulations and experiments for 3.7[kW] induction motor and shows good dynamic performance.

  • Solenoid type magnetic actuator is the device, which could translate the electromagnetic energy to mechanical force. The force generated by magnetic flux, could be calculated by Maxwell stress tensor method. Maxwell stress tensor method is influenced by the magnetic flux path. Thus, magnetic force could be improved by modification of the iron case, which is the route of the magnetic flux. Modified design is obtained by parameter optimization using by Response surface methodology.

  • 투과증발공정에서 polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)막에 대한 용매의 수착특성과 투과 플럭스를 예측하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이 방법을 이용하여 chloroform, toluene, methoanol, n-butanol의 수착량과 투과 플럭스를 계산하였으며, 계산값과 실험값을 비교하였다. 팽윤을 촉진시키는 정용매(good solvent)인 toluene과 chloroform의 경우 계산된 수착량과 투과 플럭스는 실험값과 잘 일치하였다. 막의 밀도가 작을수록 수착량과 투과 플럭스는 증가하였다. 팽윤을 억제시키는 부용매(poor solvent)인 methanol, n-butanol의 경우는 실험값과 상당한 오차가 있었다. 따라서, 본 미케니즘에 의해 PDMS막에 대한 정용매의 수착량과 투과 플럭스는 실험에 의하지 않고도 이론적으로 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다.

  • In the case of Linear induction motor(LIM), numerical analysis method like Finite Element Method(FEM) has been mainly used to analyze the travelling magnetic field problem which includes the velocity-induced electromotive force. If the problem including the velocity-induced electromotive force is analyzed by FEM using Galerkin method, the solution can be oscillated according to Peclet Number, which is determined by conductivity, permeability, moving velocity and size of mesh. Consequently, the accuracy of the solution can be low and the Loops of flux can be occurred at the secondary back-iron. These loops of flux occurred at the secondary back-iron does not exist physically, but it can be occurred in the analysis. In this case, the loops of flux can be generally removed by using Up-Wind method which is impossible to apply a conventional S/W tool(Maxwell 2D). Therefore, in this paper, authors examined the Loops of flux occurred at the secondary back-iron of LIM according to variations of Peclet Number, and analyzed whether these loops of flux affect on the thrust force characteristics of LIM or not.

  • A magnetic flux saturation model of Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRMs) and a parameter estimation method are proposed at standstill. The proposed magnetic flux model includes the nonlinear relationship between the current and the magnetic flux for self-saturation and cross-saturation. Voltage is injected at standstill to estimate the magnetic flux saturation model. Voltages are injected into the d-axis and q-axis to obtain data on self-saturation. Subsequently, voltages are simultaneously injected into the d-q axis to obtain data on cross-saturation. On the basis of the measured current and the calculated magnetic flux, the parameters of the proposed model are estimated using the least square method (LSM). Simulation and experiment were performed on a 1.5-kW SynRM to verify the proposed method. The proposed model can be used to create a high-efficiency operation table, a sensorless algorithm, and a current controller to improve the control performance of a motor.

An Improved Central 60° Synchronous Modulation for High Transient Performance with PMSM Stator Flux Control Used in Urban Rail Transit Systems

  • Central 60° synchronous modulation is an easy pulse-width modulation (PWM) method to implement for the traction inverters of urban rail trains at a very low switching frequency. Unfortunately, its switching patterns are determined by a Fourier analysis of assumed steady-state voltages. As a result, its transient responses are not very good with over-currents and high instantaneous torque pulses. In the proposed solution, the switching patterns of the conventional central 60° modulation are modified according to the dynamic error between the target and actual stator flux. Then, the specific trajectory of the stator flux and current vector can be guaranteed, which leads to better system transients. In addition, stator flux control is introduced to get smooth mode switching between the central 60° modulation and the other PWMs in this paper. A detailed flow chart of the control signal transmission is given. The target flux is obtained by an integral of the target voltage. The actual PMSM flux is estimated by a minimum order flux state observer based on the extended flux model. Based on a two-level inverter model, improved rules in the α-β stationary coordinate system and equations of the switching patterns amendment are proposed. The proposed method is verified by simulation and experimental results.

다구찌 기법에 의한 코발트기 자융성합금 용사코팅의 최적공정 설계 (Process Optimization for Co-based Self-flux Alloy Coating by Taguchi Method)

  • This paper describes process optimization for thermal-sprayed Co-based self-flux alloy coating by Taguchi method. Co-based self-flux alloy coatings were fabricated according to $L_9(3^4)$ orthogonal array using flame spray process. Hardness test and wear test were performed, the results were analyzed by analysis of variance(ANOVA) considering a multi response signal to noise ratio(MRSN). From the results of ANOVA, the optimal combination of the flame spray parameters on Co-based self-flux alloy coating could be predicted. The calculated hardness and wear rate of the coatings by ANOVA were found to be close to that of confirmation experimental result.
