A Novel Photonuclease; Bromofluoroacetophenone Analogs

  • The photoinducible DNA cleaving activities of bromofluoroacetophenones as a novel photonuclease were investigated. The photolytic behavior and DNA cleaving acitivity of fluorine derivative were compared with those of non-fluorine substituted compound, 4'-bromoacetophenones. Although the DNA cleaving activities of fluorine analogs were similar with those of 4'-bromoacetophenones, ο-bromo-$\rho$-fluoro derivatives gave the better DNA cleaving activities than $\rho$-bromo-ο-fluoro derivatives did.

  • The research which it sees will confront to the coating with paint material and a coating with paint public law application of the river bridge and it will present it will sleep and it will execute, it will reach and a comparison - an analysis from the research which it tries to respect middle of special environment the polyurethane system which is a method coating with paint system and fluorine resin system, against a ceramic system it executed more an objectivity and rational fundamental data. With research method against each coating with paint evening sunlight a research investigation material and structure, it separated with spatial-temporal characteristic and economic viewpoint it executed. When considering overview from material viewpoint, fluorine resin system ceramic system polyurethane system pure with it is judged with the fact that it is excellent. There is a possibility of saying that the coefficient of friction of the fluorine resin system which uses the weapon quality zinc end coating compound ever so hard and polyurethane system is excellent ceramic system than from structure viewpoint. That fluorine resin system = polyurethane system ceramic system pure with it is excellent, it is judged from spatial-temporal characteristic viewpoint. It measures but it considered an internal troubles year grudge in the standard which becomes disturbance the place where it executes the market the expectation life person of the general bridge against 100 years the result fluorine resin system polyurethane system ceramic system which compares a materials unit cost pure with it appeared.

  • Hydrofluoric acid (HF), a typical inorganic acid, has been used in the industry for its various usage and classified as the toxic compound, because it can cause the pneumonia and pulmonary edema when it was exposed to respiratory organs. The official environmental analytical method for fluorine and its compound in waste has not been developed. For this reason, we have faced some problem to treat the contaminated wastes by the HF leakage from industrial process. In this study, prepared for analytical method for combustible waste (crop, trees, etc.) generated from HF leaking accident and to be applied as the official analytical method for fluorine contaminated waste when the fluorine and its compound will be regulated as a hazardous material by the waste management law later.

  • Synthesis of novel 9-fluoroanthracyclines carrying L-fucose as a sugar component is described. Compound 3 containing a fluorine at the C-9 position was synthesized from an epoxide 2 and HF/Pyr (7 : 3). Bromination and hydrolysis of compound 3 resulted in synthesis of an aglycone, 9-fluoroanthracyclinone 6. The α-(1b) and β -anomers (1a) of the final product were obtained in high yields by a coupling reaction with the L-fucose.

  • The influence of the reactant composition on the surface free energy and on the dispersity in water was investigated by using the fluorine-containing water-soluble polyurethane synthesized with the fluorine-containing diol and hydrophilic diol. The diol donating ionic characteristics was more effective than polyol, and stable emulsion with the diameter of 610~310 nm was obtained in the range of 0.3~0.7 molar ratio of the diol to polyol. According to the increment of fluorine-containing compound up to 10 wt %, the surface free energy of polyurethane was dramatically decreased from 22.3 to 12.6 dyn/cm, and the diameter of water dispersed polyurethane increased from 380 to 860 nm due to the strong interaction between polymer molecules because fluorine segments are arranged on the surface of molecules. The macromonomer with perfluoroalkyl group was more effective in complement of the weak point of water-soluble polyurethane, which is a decrease of hydrophobicity, because of strong hydrophobicity.

  • Fluorine-doped YBaS12TCuS13TOS17-xTFS1yT superconducting materials with y varing two orders of magnitude form 0.02 to 2.0 have been prepared by a sol-gel process by using metal nitrate salts, sodium hydroxide and sodium fluoride. Fluorine contents have been measured using an ion-selective electrode. All fluorine doped as reactant were found to be present in the resulted samples. From the observation of XRD it has been concluded that the samples with y 0.2 formed simply the single phase of perovskite structure, whereas those with y 0.5 yielded together some compounds such as BaFS12T, YFS13T and CuO in the resulted samples. The observation of solid state S019TF NMR has been carried out in order to check whether fluorine was actually incorporated into the lattice sites, and the experimental results revealed that the mole ratio of fluorine incorporated into the lattice sites of YBaS12TCuS13TOS17-xT was approximately 0.2 per mole of the compound. Also electrical resistivity measurement indicated that onset transition temperature has the tendency to increase slightly with increasing y in the dilute region as y 0.2.

Application of Rare Earth Compounds for the Treatment of Phosphate and Fluoride in Wastewater (인산염 및 불소폐수 처리제로서의 희토류 화합물 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Applications of lanthanum ion and crude rare earth chloride to the phosphate wastewater and fluorine wastewater, respectively, as treatment agents were studied. For the investigation of phosphate removal characteristics according to the amount of lanthanum ion, initial phosphate content was decreased by about 50% when molar ratio of [$La^{3+}$]:[$PO_4{^{3-}}-P$] was 0.25 and nearly all of phosphate was removed when the molar ratio of [$La^{3+}$]:[$PO_4{^{3-}}-P$] to be doubled. The removal of phosphate by $La^{3+}$ appeared to reach equilibrium state rapidly, and it was exothermic reaction since the removed amount of phosphate was diminished somewhat when the reaction temperature was increased. The zeta potential of combined particulate compound of lanthanum ion and phosphate was located for its isoelectric point at pH 5.5 and the turbidity of treated wastewater was found to vary according to the pH in a similar manner as the absolute value of zeta potential of the combined particulate compound did. For the treatment of fluorine wastewater by crude rare earth chloride, the remaining fluorine content after treatment decreased as the dosage of crude rare earth chloride increased. Whereas, the turbidity of treated wastewater and the amount of sludge generated were shown to increase as more crude rare earth chloride was added. The remaining fluorine content and the turbidity of treated wastewater were decreased and the amount of sludge generated was observed to increase according the increase of coagulant dosage under the condition of constant input of crude rare earth chloride.

  • The Synthesis of E, E, E-12-fluorofarnesol and E, Z-6-fluorofarnesol which are key intermediates for the study of biosynthesis of some sesquiterpenes, is described. E, E-Farnesyl acetate is treated with selenium dioxide to give E, E, E-12-hydroxy farnesyl acetate, whih is transformed by DAST into E, E, E-12-hydroxy farnesyl acetate, which is transformed by DAST into E, E, E,-12-fluorofarnesylacetate. The latter compound is hydrolyzed to E, E, E,-12-fluorofarnesol. The reformatsky reaction of 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one with ethyl bromofluoroacetate affords ethyl 2-fluoro-3-hydroxy-3, 7 dimethyl-6-octanoate. This ester is acetylated and eliminated to give ethyl (Z)-2-fluoro-3, 7-dimethylocta-2, 6-dienoate, which is transformed to allyl bromide via allylic alcohol. The allyl bromide is treated with dianion of methyl acetate to give-keto ester. The $\beta$-keto ester is converted to diethyl phosphoryloxy compound. The conjugate addition of lithium dimethylcuprate to the latter compound gives fluoro ester, which is treated with DIBAL to afford E, Z-6-fluorofarnesol.

Enamel strengthening effect of the dental fluoride compound (수종의 치과용 불소화합물의 물리적 조건에 따른 치질강화에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The fluoride coating for caries prevention and strengthen enamel use NaF(sodium fluoride, Junsei Chemical Co., Ltd, Japan) 2% gel, SnF2(stannous fluoride, SIGMA-ALDRICH Gmbh, USA)8% gel and APF(acidulated phosphate fluoride, Sultan health care, USA) 1.23% gel. Methods : After put the enamel piece in these fluoride compound gel, we observed density level. And after measuring the vickers hardness, Got the following conclusions. Results : 1. After settling in the APF 1.23% during 6 days, we observed high density level of enamel surface using 250 magnification scanning microscope. The vacuum of surface packed (in) like sardines. 2. After settling in the APF 1.23% during 6 days, we observed reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface using 50,000 magnification scanning microscope. 3. The vickers hardness change was very much on the all kinds of fluoride compound gel[2% NaF(sodium fluoride)gel, 8% SnF2(stannous fluoride) gel, 1.23% APF(acidulated phosphate fluoride)gel]. It's all because of reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface(p<0.001). Conclusions : The vickers hardness change was very much on the all kinds of fluoride compound. It's all because of reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface.
