A Study on the Improvement of Production of the Manufacturing Industries

  • This study objectively in examines materials related to factory rationalization of D Corp., a regionally based enterprise. One reason that previous factory rationalizations have not been all that effective is that each firm has not used strategies specially designed for it Despite the fact that each firm has a different culture, and different human and physical resources, the application of rationalization without any modifications has produced many problems. In order to stabilize the production system and reduce the capacity of the factory, D Corp. changed the basic 5 S's and stimulated the factory atmosphere through computer education. Rationalization stabilized and standardized the factory, and organized the physical resources and each area of the factory according to their place in the process of production. It also made improvements that verified the party responsible for the flow of the complex production system, and simplified analysis supervision of production, and ex post management. We think that the successful example of D Corp. can serve as a real, tangible model for small and medium regionally-based firms to follow.

  • As a result of environmental concerns, the production of electricity through renewable energy resources is rapidly increasing. Wind energy is among the fastest growing renewable energy resources now being integrated in the power system, and the penetration rate of wind generation has been gradually increased. For power flow analysis of the recent systems, thus, steady-state modeling of wind turbines and their application are of great importance. This paper presents the procedure we applied for implementation of a steady-state wind turbine model in power flow.

자동안내운반기로 된 생산라인의 최적 물류흐름 (Optimal Material Flow of AGV based Production Lines)

  • This paper concerns the production model that the Automatic Guided Vehicles(AGVs) is used as transporters in assembly line. The model suggests that assembly parts may inter the beginning of the line in multiple units instead entering one unit at a time. Costs are occured in proportion to the number of vehicle on the line and job flow time. Here, the objective of this model is to determine the number of vehicle to minimize the total cost for M products production. Theoretical results are proved which lead to the development of algorithm for solution search. The solution search procedure is illustrated by a numerical example.

Study on a Layout Design Method for Leisure Ship Production Factories using a Heuristic Location-Allocation Algorithm

  • To ensure that the production system of a factory is efficient, the factory layout design should consider the location and material flow plans of facilities, workshops, and storage areas. Highly productive factories need to have an optimized layout planning process, and a customized design methodology of the production system is a necessity for feasible layout planning. This paper presents a method for designing a layout module's size and shape and provides a heuristic location-allocation algorithm for the modules. The method is implemented and validated using a rich internet application-based platform. The layout design method is based on the leisure ship production process; this method can be used for designing the layout of a new factory or remodeling an existing factory and its production system. In contrast to existing layout methods, the inputs required for the proposed method, such as target products, production processes, and human-resource plans, are simple. This layout design method provides a useful solution for the initial stage of factory design.

  • Recently, the speed of change related with enterprise management is getting faster than ever owing to the competition among companies, technique diffusion, shortening of product lifecycle, excessive supply of market. For the example, the compliance condition (such as delivery date, product quality, etc.) from the ship owner is getting complicated and the needs for the new product such as FPSO, FSRU are coming to fore. This paradigm shift emphasize the rapid response rather than the competitive price, flexibility and agility rather than effective and optimal perspective for the domestic shipbuilding company. So, domestic shipbuilding companies have to secure agile and flexible ship production environment that could respond change of market and requirements of customers in order to continue a competitive edge in the world market. In this paper, I'm going to define a standard shipbuilding production management system by investigating the environment of domestic major shipbuilding companies. Also, I'm going to propose a unified ship production management and system for the operation of unified management through detail analysis of the activities and the data flow of ship production management. And, the system functions for the strategic approach of ship production management are investigated through the business administration tools such as performance pyramid, VDT and BSC. Lastly, the research of applying strategic KPI to the digital shipyard as virtual execution platform is conducted.

Optimization of a Savonius hydrokinetic turbine for performance improvement: A comprehensive analysis of immersion depth and rotation direction

  • The turbine system converts the kinetic energy of water flow to electricity by rotating the rotor in a restricted waterway between the seabed and free surface. A turbine system's immersion depth and rotation direction are significantly critical in the turbine's performance along with the shape of the rotor. This study has investigated the hydrodynamic performance of the Savonius hydrokinetic turbine (SHT) according to the immersion depth and rotation direction using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The instantaneous torque, torque coefficient, and power coefficients are calculated for the immersion ratios Z/D ranging [0.25, 3.0] and both clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) rotations. A flow visualization around the rotor is shown to clarify the correlation between the turbine's performance and the flow field. The CFD simulations show that the CCW rotation produces a higher power at shallow immersion, while the CW rotation performs better at deeper immersion. The immersion ratio should be greater than the minimum of Z/D=1.0 to obtain the maximum power production regardless of the rotation direction.

개인맞춤생산 개념의 공예적 융합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Craft Fusion of Personalized Production Concept)

  • 개인맞춤생산은 4차산업혁명속에서 변화하는 생산과 소비를 대표하는 개념이다. 각 분야의 생산업체들은 이 개념을 도입하기 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있으나 공예분야, 특히 사회 곳곳에 퍼져있는 공방체제에서는 이와 같은 변화의 흐름을 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 변화하는 생산과 소비에 발맞추어 공예공방속에서 개인맞춤생산을 융합할 수 있는 가능성을 가늠해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 유사한 체계인 대량맞춤생산의 개념과 실예를 살펴보고 개인맞춤생산을 정의한 후 현대 공예 공방의 제작현황을 인지하고 결과적으로 생산성과 소통이라는 두 가지 기준점을 삼아 융합의 가능성을 살폈다.

Effect of Protein Sources on Rumen Microbial Protein Synthesis Using Rumen Simulated Continuous Culture System

  • A rumen simulated continuous culture (RSCC) system was used to study the influence of supplementation of the three different types of protein sources such as urea, casein and soy protein on rumen microbial synthesis in terms of rumen microbial synchronization. The urea treatment showed the highest pH value. Ammonia nitrogen concentration was rapidly increased after feeding and not significantly different in the urea treatment (13.53 mg/100 ml). Protozoa numbers were not significantly different for soy protein and casein treatment compared to urea treatments during incubation. The average concentration of total VFA (mMol) was not detected with significant difference among treatments, but iso-butyrate production showed the highest for soy protein treatment among treatments (p<0.001). The lowest concentration in total iso-acids (iso-butyrate and iso-valerate) production was observed in urea treatment. The soy protein treatment showed no significantly change in acetate/propionate. The amounts of dry matter (DM) out flow showed no significant difference among treatments. Organic matter (OM) flow was the highest for urea treatments and the lowest for casein treatment (p<0.03). The nitrogen flow for casein treatment was not significantly different from other treatments. The efficiency of microbial protein synthesis in terms of microbial nitrogen (MN) synthesis (g MN/kg ADOM) digested in the rumen was highest for casein treatment (58.53 g MN/kg ADOM) compared to soy protein and urea (p<0.05). This result suggests that rumen ammonia releasing rate may influence on microbial protein synthesis in the rumen.

비전통 유·가스정에서 ESP 성능 평가를 위한 Flow Loop 시스템 개발 (Development of Flow Loop System to Evaluate the Performance of ESP in Unconventional Oil and Gas Wells)

  • 전기식 액중형 펌프 (electrical submersible pump, ESP)는 인공채유 (artificial lift) 기법 중 적용성과 운영 효율이 높아 전 세계 생산정에서 운영되고 있다. 저류층에서 ESP 운영 시 온도·압력, 가스·오일비, 유량 등의 변수는 ESP 성능에 영향을 미치는 요소로서, 특히 생산유체 내 자유 가스 (free gas)는 ESP의 수명 및 운영 효율을 감소시키는 주요 요인에 해당한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ESP 성능에 영향을 미치는 변수를 정량적으로 분석하고자 현장 운영조건에서 ESP 성능실험과 손상모사 실험이 가능한 환형 유동 시스템 (flow loop system) 을 개발하였다. 개발 장치는 ESP와 튜빙 (tubing)을 하나의 시스템으로 연동시켜 ESP의 고장 및 원인 진단, 튜빙의 누출 특성을 파악할 수 있는 일체형 시스템에 해당한다. 본 연구에서는 ESP 성능 평가와 관련된 단상 유체 (single phase)와 2상 유체 (two phase) 실험을 통해 ESP를 안정적으로 운영하기 위한 유동 조건을 규명하였다. 도출된 결과값은 ESP 고장 예측 및 진단 프로그램 개발을 위한 기본 자료를 제공하며, ESP 운영을 위한 최적 운영 조건 및 고장 진단을 위한 실시간 모니터링에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Chemical Mechanical Polishing(CMP) in semiconductor production is characterized its output property by Removal Rate(RR) and Non-Uniformity(NU). Some Previous works shows that RR is determined by production of pressure and velocity and NC is also largely affected by velocity of flow-field during CMP. This study is about the direct measurement of velocity of slurry during CMP and reconstruction whole flow-field by Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) Techniques. Typical PIV system is tuned adequately for inspecting CMP and Slurry Flow-field is measured by changing both Pad RPM and Carrier RPM. The results show that velocity is majorly determined not by Carrier RPM, but by Pad RPM.
