만곡수로에서의 곡률반경 변화에 따른 흐름특성 (Flow Characteristics for the Variation of Radius of Curvature in Open Channel Bends)

  • 만곡수로에서의 곡률반경에 대한 하폭비 변화에 따른 흐름특성을 단순화된 수치모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 각 운동량 방정식과 힘의 평형원리로부터 각가 2차 흐름속도와 횡방향하상경사를 계산하였다. 깊이 방향으로 적분된 연속방정식과 흐름방향의 운동방정식을 양적 유한차분법으로부터 그 해를 구하였다. 곡률반경에 대한 하폭의 비를(Rc/B) 2.7, 5.4 및 8.1로 변화시키면 수치실험을 실행하여, 그 결과로부터 2차 흐름속도, 흐름방향유속, 최대유속의 이동경로, 편의각 및 질량이동유속에 관한 특성을 분석하였다.

가솔린직접분사기관에서 흡기포트 및 피스톤의 형상에 따른 유동해석 (Numerical Analysis of the flow Characteristics in Intake-Port Piston Head Configurations in a Gasoline Direct-Injection Engine.)

  • In this paper, tile characteristics of flow resulting from the configurations of piston head and intake-port of the cylinder in a gasoline-direct-injection engine are investigated numerically. Calculations are carried out from intake process to the end of compression. GTT code which includes the third order upwind Chakravarthy-Osher TVD scheme and κ-ε turbulence model with the law of wall as a boundary condition. As a result, a piston head with a smaller radius of curvature and larger radius gives stronger reverse tumble. It is also shown that as the maximum tumble ratio increases by the configuration of the intake-port the tumble ratio at the end of compression stroke increases. It is concluded that flows at the end of compression stroke can be controlled by the optimum design of intake-port and piston head.

축대칭 하향단 흐름에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Flow Behind an Axisymmetric Backward-Facing Step)

  • Local mean fluctuating velocity components were measured in the separating and reattaching axisymmetrc region of turbulent boundary layer over the wall of convex cylinders placed in a water tunnel by using 2-color 4-beam fiber optics laser Doppler velocimetry. Measurements were made with three different diameters of cylinders with four different diameters of cylinders with four different diameter of the obstructions. The range of Reynolds number based on step height was between 5,000 to 25,200. The study demonstrates that the reattachment length decreases with decreasing cylinder radius and is always shorter than that for the two-dimensional backward-facing step flow at the condition of the same step height. It was also observed that the turbulent kinetic energy in the recirculating region increases with an increases in the radius of convex curvature. The measured velocity field suggests that the transverse curvature can effect definitely the formation of corner eddy.

난류 이중동심관 유동에 미치는 표면거칠기 효과 (Effect of Surface Roughness on Turbulent Concentric Annular Flows)

  • The structure of turbulence of fully developed flow through three concentric annuli with both rough inner and outer walls was investigated experimentally for Reynolds number range Re=15000-93000. Turbulence intensities were measured in three (u, v, w) directions, and turbulence shear stresses in annuli of radius ratios .alpha.= 0.26, 0.4 and 0.56, respectively. The result showed that the structure of turbulence for these asymmetric flows was not the same as that for the annulus with smooth walls. The velocity fluctuations of all three components (u, v, and w-directions) showed little discernible variation with Reynolds numbers, but became apparent with the influence of radius ratio (.alpha.) The experimental results for an annulus with the roughened outer wall and a smooth annulus were shown in the figures as a reference. The eddy diffusivities and friction factors were also presented and discussed.

단동 프레싱에 의한 레이디얼-후방압출의 성형특성 (Forming Characterististics of Radial-Backward Extrusion for Single Action Pressing)

  • This paper is concerned with the analysis of the forming characteristics of radial-backward extrusion. The single action pressing is analyzed by using the rigid-plastic FEM. The design factors such as die corner radius, gap height, and friction factor are involved in the simulation. The analysis is focused on the influences of the design factors on the maximum punch farce and metal flow into can and flange region. As a result of analysis, the gap height among the design factors is known to have a major effect on the metal flow of radial-backward extrusion for single action pressing compared with other design factors. As is expected, forming load and volume of flange increase as gap height and die corner radius increase, respectively.

거친외벽면을 가진 동심환형관내에서 완전히 발달된 유동의 난류구조 (Structure of turbulence of fully developed flow in concentric annuli with rough outer wall)

  • For roughened annular pipes with diameter ratios of 0.26, 0.39, and 0.56 and with Reynolds numbers ranging 13,000 to 67,000, friction factor, autocorrelation coefficients, power spectral density functions, and integral length scales for each flow condition using X-type hot wire anemometry system are experimentally investigated. Distributions of these quantities show that the times which the streamwise autocorrelation coefficients become zero first increase with decreasing the radius ratios of concentric annuli and Reynolds numbers, however the power spectra density functions increase with increasing the radius ratios and Reynolds number.

일정 간격의 돌출부를 갖는 마이크로채널 내의 스톡스 유동 해석 (Stokes Flow Through a Microchannel with Projections of Constant Spacing)

  • 본 연구에서는 채널 벽면에 돌출물이 일정 간격으로 부착되어 있는 마이크로채널을 통과하는 2차원 스톡스 유동을 이론적으로 고찰한다. 상하 벽면에 부착된 돌출물들은 모두 반원 형상이고 서로 동일한 위상에 위치한다. 채널 내 유동의 주기성과 대칭성을 고려한 고유함수 전개법과 오차의 최소제곱법을 사용하여 유동장을 해석하여 유동함수 및 압력분포를 구하였다. 돌출물의 반경과 간격의 몇 가지 값들에 대하여 유동장 내의 유선 및 압력분포도를 보이고, 경계벽면에서의 전단응력 분포 등을 도시하였다. 또한, 돌출물의 반경과 돌출물 사이의 간격 변화에 따른 마이크로채널 내 평균 압력강하율의 변화를 계산하여 그림으로 나타내었다. 특히 상하 돌출물 사이의 틈새가 매우 작은 경우, 그 계산결과는 윤활이론의 결과와 아주 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

자갈 다공성매질에서 수리평균반경과 수리분산 매개변수의 상관성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the correlation of hydraulic mean radius and hydrodispersive parameters in rockfill porous media)

  • 다공성 매질에서 오염물 이동에 지배적인 기작인 역학적 분산은 공극 내 유속 차이에 의해서 발생한다. 종분산계수와 종분산지수는 이송확산 모형의 수리분산 매개변수이며, 실험을 통하여 얻어야만 한다. 수리평균반경은 공극 내 물의 흐름 양의 크기와 강도를 표현할 수 있으며, 매질의 물리적 특성인자를 이용하여 계산할 수 있다. 본 연구는 순간주입 추적자실험을 통하여 자갈 다공성매질에서 수리평균반경을 이용하여 종분산지수를 구할 수 있는 거듭제곱형의 경험식을 도출하였다. 경험식은 스케일상수 계산식이 포함되어 있어 이동거리에 따른 종분산지수의 산정이 가능하며, 소규모 유량의 균질한 자갈로 구성된 수로에 적용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

CONVECTION IN A STEADY STATE CHIMNEY

  • We present an axisymmetric model containing only one chimney to study how convection affects the flow in a steady state chimney. We find that the mass fraction of solid in a mush and the depth of a mush when the strength of convection is given. We use the knowledge of the variables in the mush to find the fluid flow in the chimney Our procedure employs the von $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$-Pohlhausen technique for determining chimney flow and makes use of the fact that the radius of the chimney is much less than the thickness of the mush.

임계음속노즐의 입구형상이 유출계수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Inlet Shapes of Critical Sonic Nozzles on Discharge Coefficients)

  • The discharge coefficients of critical sonic nozzles were obtained in a high pressure gas flow standard system, which was a gravitational weighing system. The discharge coefficients of critical sonic nozzle farbricated according to ISO specifications are in good agreement with ISO correlation. The discharge coefficients for small inlet radius decrease significantly as the inlet length become short due3 to separation at the sharp-edged inlet. For nozzles having long inlet radius, the effects of inlet length on the discharge coefficients were relatively small, but the effects become significant at the short inlet length. The effect of separation at the sharp-edged inlet is stronger than that of the boundary layer growth. The experimental results support that the shape of critical sonic nozzles suggested by ISO specifications is excellent.
