  • The function and performance test of the developed sub-system should be conducted before integrating into the total system. For the successful achievement of the flight test, the integration tests of sub-systems must be performed to eliminate and prevent abnormal conditions, which may happen due to ground problems, Electro-Magnetic Interference noises, and so on.   • North Korea has continued developing ballistic missiles with various ranges. Even through the recent launch long-range missiles, it can be inferred that North Korea's Missile technology has reached a level where it can even threaten the US. moreover, through the three times nuclear tests, North Korea is known to have succeeded at gaining 10~20KT of explosive power as well as the minimization and lightening of nuclear warhead. Considering the short length of war zone in Korean peninsula and the possibility of nuclear equipment, if be the most severe threat across the whole peninsula. Since the midcourse phase flight takes the longest time, ROK should establish the ability to intercept at this middle phase. From this perspective, this paper describes mission effect of a sea-based BMD system through empirical threat and flight characteristic analysis using MIT model that was not suggested in original research.

  • The 40% scaled vehicle of Smart UAV has been developed for the investigation of basic flight characteristics and the verification of flight control algorithm. The similar gimbal hub and drive train with the full scale UAV were implemented and a forced air cooling reciprocating engine was installed. The various kind of tests were conducted for the major components of the vehicle. The important performance and mechanical endurance of the fabricated vehicle were identified by ground and hovering test.

  • A composite case was designed to satisfy the required condition of KSLV-I kick motor system. we performed the structure and combustion tests to insure the reliability of the case before the production of the flight model. The hydraulic, vacuum and non destruction testes as the structure test were carried out to confirm the strength of the components of the case and the characteristics of the thermal and structure were investigated through the ground combustion test.

무인비행선 HILS 시스템 개발

  • In this paper, a HILS(Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulation) System designed for an unmanned airship, which is under development by KARI, is introduced. A HILS system is essential to validate flight control systems on the ground. The HILS system consists of several systems: a virtual ADT(airborne data terminal) system, a virtual payload system, a virtual airship system, and a status display system. Also, a 3-axis motion table and an inertial navigation sensor are included. The reliability of the flight control computer has been validated by HILS tests.

  • Structural integrity evaluation is important item in the aircraft certification. Recently, it is designed for limit load, material weakness about fatigue and corrosion, damage by bird strike in flight to evaluate structural integrity of aircraft. And static/fatigue analysis are performed to secure structural integrity, it was verified by static and fatigue tests. To evaluate the structural integrity of small aircraft tail, structural integrity was calculated by the finite element analysis. In the present study, finite element analysis are performed to pick out load cases in flight occurrence, and secure margin of safety to evaluate structural integrity of KC-100 tail unit. The proprieties of finite element analysis results are compared with the static structure test results. The estimation process of structural integrity for small aircraft tail may help the design.

  • Today, the tourism industry, unlike the past, is fused with various fields and is closely related to various fields, not just one field. In the case of the tourism industry, it leads to an increase in product sales through not only national import but also enhancing national image, forming a positive virtuous chain. As mentioned in order to verify the hypothesis presented in this study, pilot tests were conducted on about 50 copies of the data, and as a result, in-flight service (H1), flight service (H2), compensation service (H3), and reservation service (H4) It has been shown to have a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and when customer satisfaction is achieved, it naturally leads to reuse.

Ultrawideband coupled relative positioning algorithm applicable to flight controller for multidrone collaboration

  • In this study, we introduce a loosely coupled relative position estimation method that utilizes a decentralized ultrawideband (UWB), Global Navigation Support System and inertial navigation system for flight controllers (FCs). Key obstacles to multidrone collaboration include relative position errors and the absence of communication devices. To address this, we provide an extended Kalman filter-based algorithm and module that correct distance errors by fusing UWB data acquired through random communications. Via simulations, we confirm the feasibility of the algorithm and verify its distance error correction performance according to the amount of communications. Real-world tests confirm the algorithm's effectiveness on FCs and the potential for multidrone collaboration in real environments. This method can be used to correct relative multidrone positions during collaborative transportation and simultaneous localization and mapping applications.

  • This paper deals with attitude controller design and integrated performance tests on the nitrogen gas reaction control system of KSLV-I. Some major factors which are necessarily required in designing a stabilizing controller of reaction control system are investigated, and the corresponding equations are given. Experimental configurations and test conditions for system level integrated performance tests of the KSLV-I nitrogen gas reaction control system are summarized. It is shown that, based on the experimental data, operational performances of nitrogen gas reaction control system can be analyzed in terms of gas consumption, thrusting force, time delay, and specific impulse. It is also shown that a conformance of the controller to flight can be evaluated. Finally the onboard controller of KSLV-I reaction control system is shown to perform normally with enough stability margin via the first flight test result.
