Recently the construction of residential buildings faces many difficulties due to the shortage of building materials and works. Simplifying the stage of processing and assembling reinforcing rods and increasing the efficiency of them in reinforced concrete construction can be used to settle the difficulties. In the respect, structural wire-fabric and loop wire-fabric is utilized. The purpose of this study, on condition of being $210kg/cm^2$ concrete strength, is to analyze the structural and flexural properties of one-way concrete slabs by testing with different reinforcing type, tensile steel ratio based with minimum steel ratio, boundary condition and splice length which affect the maximum width of crack and ductility factor. From the test results, the ductility factor is approved that the slabs using deformed bar were much better than that using wire-fabric, and 30D of splice length was appropriate in the slabs as splice length. In the control of the maximum crack width the slabs using wire-fabric and loop wire-fabric were much better than that using deformed bar.

One of the most important design concept for reinforced concrete structures is to achieve a ductile failure mode, and also moment redistribution for economic design is possible in case that adequate ductility is provided. Flexural ductility index is, therefore, used as a reference for possibility of moment redistribution as well as for prediction of flexural behavior of designed R.C. structures. Ductility index equations, however, provide approximate values due to the linear concrete compressive stress assumption at the tension steel yielding state. Theoretically more exact ductility index is calculated by a numerical analysis with the realistic stress-strain curves for concrete and steel to be compared with the result from tire ductility index equations. Variation of ductility index for the selected variables and the reasonable maximum tension steel ratio for doubly reinforced section are investigated. A moment-curvature curve model is also proposed for future research on moment redistribution.

This study investigated the structural behavior and field applicability of sandwich type GFRP arches with polymer mortar in core. As a result, in case of crack loading and failure loading, total strains at crown were the highest; the fracture strain at crown was 0.01690, which is 4.2 times greater than the fracture strain (0.004) of cement concrete. The 3 % deflection load was 17.42 kN, the flexural strength was $163.98{\times}10^{-3}GPa$, and the flexural elastic modulus was 11.884 GPa. From load-deflection relationship up to 3.5 % deflection, 3D analysis results and experimental values were observed to be almost identical. It was considered reasonable to set a deflection rate limit to be 3 % for structural safety purpose. The standard external flexural strength of semicircular arch used in this study was approximately 2.64 times higher than that of hume pipe (2 type standard) and tripled composite pipe. The external pressure strength at fracture was approximately 1.57 times higher than that of hume pipe. It was confirmed that the implementing semicircular arch had mechanically more advantage than the circular pipe. Optimum member thickness was 8~53 mm according to arch radius of 450~1,800 mm and cover depth of 2~10 m. It was found that the larger strength could be obtained even if the thickness of member was smaller than that of concrete structure. In field application study, figures and equations were derived for obtaining applicable cover depth and optimum member thickness according to loading conditions. These would be useful data for design and manufacture of sandwich type semicircular arch.
The denture may be fractured accidentally by an impact while outside the mouth, or may be cracked or broken while in service in the mouth. The latter is generally a fatigue failure caused by repeated flexure over a period of time. This investigation compared the flexural fatigue resistance, the impact force and the transverse strength of two denture base materials with and without the grid strengthener, the T300, the T800 and the Kevlar fiber to evaluate the fracture resistance. The distribution and behavior of fibers across fracture lines were examined by Hi-Scope Compact Microvision System. Through analyses of the data from this study, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. The flexural fatigue resistance, impact strength and transverse strength of high impact strength resin were higher than those of conventional heat polymerizing resin, but statistically there was no significant difference(p>0.05). 2. All specimens with and without the grid strengthener did not show significant differences in the flexural fatigue, the impact and the transverse strength test(p>0.05). 3. All specimens reinforced with the T300, the T800 and the Kevlar fiber showed significant increase of the fatigue resistance and the impact force(p<0.05). 4. All specimens reinforced with the T800 and the Kevlar fiber showed significant increase of the transverse strength(p<0.05). 5. All specimens reinforced with the T300, the T800 and the Kevlar fiber exhibited greenstick fractures. The fibers tended to remain enveloped in the resin, resisting pull-out.
This study verifies the structural capacity of the composite PHC pile (Pretensioned spun high-strength concrete) consisting of a PHC pile and two CT structural steels. Four full-scale specimens are fabricated and the experimental tests were performed to investigate the flexural behaviors of the composite PHC piles. The composite PHC pile can enhance both the structural capacity and functional convenience, since the web of CT structural steel with holes in the web acts as a shear connector (referred to as the perfobond rib), which can connect concrete and steel. All specimens exhibited flexural failure and the ultimate strengths were larger than the anticipated design strength according to the design standard. Thus, the composite PHC pile can be applicable to wall structures with sufficient strength. In addition, it seems that the web of the CT structural steel with holes performs its role as shear connectors.
Prestressed composite girder with concrete infilled steel tubes(PSC-CFT girder) is new type of bridge girder which enhances the resisting capacities due to the double composite action of PSC composite girder and concrete infilled tube. The flexural behaviors of PSC-CFT girder in the positive moment regions are investigated based on the experimental observations recently performed on two of 4.4m long specimens. The mechanical and structural roles and failure mechanism of the composite action are discussed through comparing the test results with those numerically predicted by the three methods of one- and three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analyses, and section analysis method.
In this study, the seismic performance of the connections between L-shaped columns composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (L-CFST columns) and H-beams used in high-rise steel frame structures was investigated. Seven full-scale specimens were tested under quasi-static cyclic loading. The variables studied in the tests included the joint type, the axial compression ratio, the presence of concrete, the width-to-thickness ratio and the internal extension length of the side plates. The hysteretic response, strength degradation, stiffness degradation, ductility, plastic rotation capacity, energy dissipation capacity and the strain distribution were evaluated at different load cycles. The test results indicated that both the corner and exterior joint specimens failed due to local buckling and crack within the beam flange adjacent to the end of the side plates. However, the failure modes of the interior joint specimens primarily included local buckling and crack at the end plates and curved corners of the beam flange. A design method was proposed for the flexural capacity of the end plate connection in the interior joint. Good agreement was observed between the theoretical and test results of both the yield and ultimate flexural capacity of the end plate connection.

The improved movable weir supplements the advantages and disadvantages of the rubber weir and the conduction gate. It consists of a stainless steel gate, air bags, and a steel clamping plate. The stainless steel gate is the main body of the weir, and the inflatable rubber sheet serves to support the steel gate. The steel clamping plate is typically in direct continuous contact with water, but this leads to corrosion issues that can reduce the life of the entire movable weir. In this study, a panel-type glass-fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) clamping plate was designed and fabricated. The test results showed that the flexural load of the panel-type GFRP composite clamping plate was over twice that of the wings type GFRP clamping plate. The lowest moisture absorption value was obtained upon exposure to tap water, and exposure to other solutions showed similar values. Additionally, flexural load testing after exposure to an accelerated environment found the lowest residual loads of 80.51 % and 78.50 % at 50 and 100 days, respectively, for exposure to a $CaCl_2$ solution, while exposure to other environments showed residual failure loads of over 80 % at both 50 and 100 days.

In tension lap splices of straight deformed bars, KCI Code (KCI2012) and ACI Code (ACI318-11) requires that the lap lengths for class B splice are 1.3 times as development length. KCI2012 contains development length provisions for the use of headed deformed bars in tension and does not allow their tension lap splices. The purpose of this experimental study is to evaluate that KCI2012 equation for the development length, $l_{dt}$, of headed bars can be used to calculate the lap length, $l_s$, of headed deformed bars in grade SD400 and SD500, having specified yield strength of 400 and 500 MPa. Test results showed that specimens with $l_s$ equal to $1.3l_{dt}$ had maximum flexural strengths as 1.16~1.31 times as the nominal flexural strengths, flexural failure mode, and ductility. These observations indicate that $1.3l_{dt}$ is suitable to the tensile lap length of headed deformed bars in grade SD400 and SD500.

The minimum reinforcement ratio is an important design factor to prevent a brittle failure in RC flexural members. A minimum reinforcement ratio is presented by assuming an effective depth of cross-section and moment arm lever in CDC and KHBDC. In this study, it suggests that a rational method for minimum reinforcement ratio is calculated by material model and force equilibrium. As results, a minimum reinforcement ratio using a p-r curve in KHBDC is evaluated about 52~80% of recent design code's value and it induces an economical design. And also, a ductility capacity in case of placing this minimum reinforcement amount is evaluated about 89% of recent design code's value, but ductility in a member is 7 or more, so it has a sufficient ductility capacity. Therefore, it is judged that a minimum reinforcement ratio using p-r curve has a theoretical rationality, safety and economy in a flexural member design.
