해수순환 방파제를 고려한 폰툰형 구조물의 유탄성응답 해석 (Analysis of Hydroelastic Response of a Pontoon-type Structure Considering Effect of Wave Breaker with Underwater Opening)

  • Ocean space utilization using VLFS(Very Large Floating Structures) can provide environmental impact free space by allowing sea water flow freely through the floating structure. Use of Pontoon type VLFS for that purpose needs employment of breakwaters for reduction of wave effects. Therefore, in order to maximize advantage of environmental impact free structure, the breakwater should be the one that can allow water flow freely through it, too. In this paper hydroelastic response of a pontoon type structure is analyzed considering breakwaters which allow water flow through its opening at bottom of the breakwaters. Mode superposition technique is used for solving equation of flexible body while interactions between the pontoon and breakwaters is considered based on generalized mode concept. Bi-quadratic nine node higher-order boundary element method is adopted for more accurate numerical treatment near sharp edged body shape. Performance of various combinations of breakwaters is investigated.

  • The non-rational transfer function of a Bernoulli-Euler beam, as an important component of a flexible structure, is analyzed. The true pattern of zeros of that transfer function is investigated as a function of sensor and actuator seperation. Translational displacement sensors are used for two cases in which a force input and a moment input are seperately applied. When the displacement sensor is located at a certain point, the first pair of zeros on the real axis of the s-plane arrive at the origin and cancel the rigid-body mode. The location of the translational displacement sensors on the beamat which the rigid-body mode of the beam is unobservable is analyzed as the center of percussion and is uniquely located for each case. If sensor is moved beyond such a point, a pair of zeros appear on the imaginary axis and move away from the origin along the imaginary axis of the s-plane.

  • Today, as the demands for home appliances are increasing, the understanding of noise and vibration characteristics have become more important. It is hard to control its vibration and noise characteristics, because its mechanical structure is very complex. In this study a model of reciprocating compressor is developed. Spring, frame, and LDT are modeled as flexible body, and the other parts are modeled as rigid. FEM model of frame is simplified in order to save the simulation time. We validated the simple model by comparing their natural frequencies and mode shapes. Motor torque is applied to a rotor, and the piston is subjected to a gas pressure. The vibrational characteristics of compressor is analyzed with LS-DYNA. Its results are compared with the simulation results of rigid body frame. The effect of LDT is also studied by comparing the vibration of frame with the results of simulation with no LDT.

  • Wireless body area network (WBAN)은 인체 주변 영역에서의 통신서비스를 제공한다. WBAN 서비스는 인체 내부에 이식된 의료 응용을 위한 MICS 주파수 대역과 의료 응용과 consumer electronics (CE) 응용 분야 모두를 제공할 수 있는 ISM 주파수 대역에서의 서비스로 이루어지기 때문에 WBAN을 위한 MAC 프로토콜은 의료 응용과 CE 응용간의 상이한 특징과 유연성 (flexibility)을 고려하여 설계되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 WBAN MAC 프로토콜의 요구사항을 확인하고, WBAN의 요구사항을 만족하는 WBAN MAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. WBAN의 다양한 응용을 위한 전송 유연성을 제공하기 위해서 동적 CFP(Contention Free Period) 할당(Dynamic CFP Allocation)을 제안한다. 또한, 경쟁 기반의 긴급 의료 데이터를 발생하는 의료 응용과 때때로 대량의 데이터를 발생하는 CE 응용을 지원하기 위해서 OCDP(opportunistic contention decision period) 구간과 4-mode Opportunity period를 제안하고, 제안한 방안을 이용하여 Inactive period와 Opportunity period를 일시적으로 전환하여 사용할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 다양한 시뮬레이션 결과 IEEE 802.15.4 MAC 프로토콜과 제안하는 WBAN MAC 프로토콜을 비교하였을 때, WBAN 환경에서의 전송 처리량, CFP 이용율, 전송지연 측면에서 증가된 성능 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Durability estimation of a prototype vehicle has traditionally relied heavily on accelerated durability tests using predefined proving grounds or rig tests using a road simulator. By use of those tests, it is very difficult to predict durability failures in actual service environments. This motivated the development of an integrated CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) methodology for the durability estimation of a prototype vehicle in actual service environments. Since expensive computational costs such as computation time and hardware resources are required for a full vehicle simulation in those environments with a very long span of event time, the conventional CAE methodologies have little feasibility. An efficient computational methodology for durability estimations is applied with theoretical developments. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is shown by the comparison of results of the typical actual service environment such as the city mode with those of the typical accelerated durability test over the Belgian road.

지지구조의 유연성을 고려한 고속 유연 폴리곤 미러 스캐너 모터의 유한 요소 불평형 응답 해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Unbalance Response of a High Speed Flexible Polygon Mirror Scanner Motor Considering the Flexibility of Supporting Structure)

  • This paper presents a method to analyze the unbalance response of a high speed polygon mirror scanner motor supported by sintered bearing and flexible supporting structures by using the finite element method and the mode superposition method. The appropriate finite element equations for polygon mirror are described by rotating annular sector element using Kirchhoff plate theory and von Karman non-linear strain, and its rigid body motion is also considered. The rotating components except for the polygon mirror are modeled by Timoshenko beam element including the gyroscopic effect. The flexible supporting structures are modeled by using a 4-node tetrahedron element and 4-node shell element with rotational degrees of freedom. Finite element equations of each component of the polygon mirror scanner motor and the flexible supporting structures are consistently derived by satisfying the geometric compatibility in the internal boundary between each component. The rigid link constraints are also imposed at the interface area between sleeve and sintered bearing to describe the physical motion at this interface. A global matrix equation obtained by assembling the finite element equations of each substructure is transformed to a state-space matrix-vector equation, and both damped natural frequencies and modal damping ratios are calculated by solving the associated eigenvalue problem by using the restarted Arnoldi iteration method. Unbalance responses in time and frequency domain are performed by superposing the eigenvalues and eigenvectors from the free vibration analysis. The validity of the proposed method is verified by comparing the simulated unbalance response with the experimental results. This research also shows that the flexibility of supporting structures plays an important role in determining the unbalance response of the polygon mirror scanner motor.

  • Computer simulation technique has been applied on the various engineering fields to reduce cost and development period. On this paper, we introduce a crane analysis program. Using this program, we can predict reaction force of each part or supporting force of truck crane on a personal computer system with out exclusive knowledge of multi-body dynamics. In order to consider the effect of boom flexibility according to each working condition, flexible dynamic theory is applied to the program. Actual crane model is analyzed on special work condition using this program and the results are compared with those of rigid boom model.

  • An analysis method is suggested and experimentally studied in order to solve a vibration problem of a flexible structure while it is moving. In this method, substructure synthesis method, modal analysis method and Newmark's integral method were used. Total deformation of a structure was composed of quasistatic component and dynamic component. Rigid body modes were considered in calculation of dynamic component. Combining those two component, deformation behavior and a real structural model of a transfer feeder showed good agreements with computational results.

$H_{\infty}$ 제어기에 의한 능동 자기 베어링 시스템의 강인한 제어계 설계 (Robust Control System Design for an AMB by $H_{\infty}$ Controller)

  • This paper deals with the control of a horizontally placed flexible rotor levitated by electromagnets in a multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) active magnetic bearing(AMB) system. AMB is a kind of novel high performance bearing which can suspend the rotor by magnetic force. Its contact-free manner between the rotor and stator results in it being able to operate under much higher speed than conventional rolling bearings with relatively low power losses, as well as being environmental-friendly technology for AMB system having no wear and no lubrication requirements. In this MIMO AMB system, the rotor is a complex mechanical system, it not only has rigid body characteristics such as translational and slope motion but also bends as a flexible body. Reduced order nominal model is computed by consideration of the first 3 mode shapes of rotor dynamics. Then, the $H_{\infty}$ control strategy is applied to get robust controller. Such robustness of the control system as the ability of disturbance rejection and modeling error is guaranteed by using $H_{\infty}$ control strategy. Simulation results show the validation of the designed control system and the modeling method to the rotor.

  • 본 연구에서는 유연모드를 고려한 위성체 모델링 방법들을 소개하고, 이에 따라 3축 안정화 위성의 유연모드를 모델링하였다. 이 모델을 강체에 대해 설계되었던 반작용휠을 이용한 자세제어루프에 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소모델이 완성되기 전 단계에서 집합모드모델 중 전역모드모델을 이용하는 것을 제안하였고, 이를 유한요소법을 이용하여 계산된 모델과 제어기 필터 설계의 관점에서 비교하였다. 새로운 유연모드가 적용됨에 따라 제어기 요구조건을 만족시키기 위한 필터가 필요하여 반작용휠의 모터제어기 루프와 축제어기 루프에 각각 1차 필터를 설계하여 추가하였다. 제어루프 설계 및 시뮬레이션을 위해 MATLAB/Simulink를 사용하였다.
