평지붕 PV거치 시스템의 형태에 따른 풍압영향에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Effect of the Wind Pressure according to Form on the Flat Roof mounted PV System)

  • The new renewable energy became popular as a clean and sustainable alternative energy under the circumstances that the entire world is facing severe abnormal climate due to the use of fossil fuel, and among which, solar energy can be obtained anywhere and is not difficult to apply it into the existing buildings, which makes it possible to be widely distributed. However, as PV module is installed into a single plate system, it shows structural weaknesses which are vulnerable to wind load and give loss to design elements in external appearance. Accordingly, this study planned one-step parallel system to complement the problems occurring from a single plate system and used STAR-CCM+ V.8 made by CD-Adapco, a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation tool to measure wind load stability and support based on the design standards for a single plate system and one-step parallel system. Building height was limited to less than 10m and wind speed was given when increasing from 35m/s to 50m/s by 5m/s on PV system installed into the flat roof. In this case, our analysis suggested that step-one parallel system was in class 7-9 according to Beaufort's wind power classification, which did not have an impact on the fixed PV system, and the single plate system is considered to cause risks in designing wind speed in central districts because it is more than wind power class 12.

자동차 에어컨용 평행류 응축기의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of a Parallel Flow Condenser for Automotive Air Conditioners)

  • The new shape of louver-fin has been applied to a parallel flow condenser to enhance air-side heat transfer rate lot an automotive air-conditioner R- l34a is employed as a refrigerant inside the flat tube of the condenser, This problem is of particular interest in reducing the geometric size of the automotive air conditioner The effect of air flow rate on pressure drop as well as heat transfer in air side are studied in detail. Comparison of the performance is also made with that of a conventional parallel flow condenser, which is available in the market. The results obtained indicate that the total pressure drop through the pre sent condenser is not changed, while the heat transfer rate is increased by 24% at high veto city of air flow, compared with those of the conventional condenser. The parallel flow condenser with a new shape of louver-fin could be reduced in size by 20% for the equivalent condenser capacity, compared with the conventional parallel flow condenser.

ON SOME CLASSES OF WEAKLY Z-SYMMETRIC MANIFOLDS

  • The aim of the paper is to study some geometric properties of weakly Z-symmetric manifolds. Weakly Z-symmetric manifolds with Codazzi type and cyclic parallel Z tensor are studied. We consider Einstein weakly Z-symmetric manifolds and conformally flat weakly Z-symmetric manifolds. Next, it is shown that a totally umbilical hypersurface of a conformally flat weakly Z-symmetric manifolds is of quasi constant curvature. Also, decomposable weakly Z-symmetric manifolds are studied and some examples are constructed to support the existence of such manifolds.

  • In this paper, we study some geometric structures of a weakly cyclic Z-symmetric manifold (briefly, $[W CZS]_n$). More precisely, we prove that a conformally flat $[W CZS]_n$ satisfying certain conditions is special conformally flat and hence the manifold can be isometrically immersed in an Euclidean manifold $E^n+1$ as a hypersurface if the manifold is simply connected. Also we show that there exists a $[W CZS]_4$ with one parameter family of its associated 1-forms.

  • This study has been conducted to measure the performance of 5 thermosyphon solar water heaters suitable for Korean climate and to develop the most optimum system. Each system consists of two flat plate collectors of $4'{\times}8'$ (or three flat plate collectors of $3'{\times}6'$) connected in parallel and a storage tank of $300{\ell}$ capacity. Among the tested systems, the configuration that has two flat plate collectors of $4'{\times}8'$ and a horizontal tank-in-tank type storage unit with internal fins (C system) showed the highest performance.

  • The Automation and Control Group at the University of Brasilia is developing an automatic welding station based on an industrial robot and a controllable welding machine. Several techniques were applied in order to improve the quality of the welding joints. This paper deals with the implementation of a laser-based computer vision system to guide the robotic manipulator during the welding process. Currently the robot is taught to follow a prescribed trajectory which is recorded a repeated over and over relying on the repeatability specification from the robot manufacturer. The objective of the computer vision system is monitoring the actual trajectory followed by the welding torch and to evaluate deviations from the desired trajectory. The position errors then being transfer to a control algorithm in order to actuate the robotic manipulator and cancel the trajectory errors. The computer vision systems consists of a CCD camera attached to the welding torch, a laser emitting diode circuit, a PC computer-based frame grabber card, and a computer vision algorithm. The laser circuit establishes a sharp luminous reference line which images are captured through the video camera. The raw image data is then digitized and stored in the frame grabber card for further processing using specifically written algorithms. These image-processing algorithms give the actual welding path, the relative position between the pieces and the required corrections. Two case studies are considered: the first is the joining of two flat metal pieces; and the second is concerned with joining a cylindrical-shape piece to a flat surface. An implementation of this computer vision system using parallel computer processing is being studied.

반응표면법을 이용한 평행류 열교환기의 형상 최적화 (Optimal Shape of a Parallel-Flow Heat Exchanger by Using a Response Surface Method)

  • The heat and flow characteristics in a single-phase parallel-flow heat exchanger was examined numerically to obtain its optimal shape. A response surface method was introduced to approximately predict its performance with respect to the design parameters over the design domain. The inflow/outflow angle of the working fluid, the location of inlet/outlet, the protruding height of flat tube and the height of header were chosen as a design parameter The evaluation of the relative importance of the design parameters was performed based on a sensitivity analysis. An efficiency index was used as an evaluation characteristics value to simultaneously consider both the heat transfer and the pressure drop. The efficiency index of the optimum model, compared to that of the base model, was increased by 9.3%.

  • In this paper, we present a multi-code parallel combinatory CDMA system using bi-orthogonal modulation to reduce envelope variation and improve bit error. .rate (BER) performance. In general, the dynamic range of the amplitude of the transmit signal is very large in the case of conventional multi-code CDMA systems, resulting in severe nonlinear distortion due to high power amplifier and thus significant BER performance degradation. The proposed system exhibits reduction of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal amplitudes and significant performance improvement. We verify the performance of the proposed system by computer simulations under AWGN channel and flat fading channel.

Large Area Plasma Characteristics using Internal Linear ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Source for the FPD processing

  • In this study, the characteristics of large area internal linear ICP sources of $1,020mm{\times}920mm$ (substrate area is $880mm{\times}660mm$) were investigated using a multiple linear antennas with U-type parallel connection. Using the multiple linear antennas with U-type parallel connection, a high plasma density of $2{\times}10^{11}/cm^3$ and a high power transfer efficiency of about 88% could be obtained at 5kW of RF power and with 20mTorr Ar. A low plasma potential of less than 26V and a low electron temperature of $2.6{\sim}3.2eV$ could be also obtained. The measured plasma uniformity on the substrate size of 4th generation $(880mm{\times}660mm)$ was about 4%, therefore, it is believed that the multiple linear antennas with U-type parallel connection can be successfully applicable to the large area flat panel display processing.

다공성 모델링을 이용한 평행류 열교환기의 열.유동 해석 (Heat and Flow Analysis of a Parallel Flow Heat Exchanger Using Porous Modeling)

  • Numerical analysis on a parallel flow heat exchanger(PFHE) is performed using 2 dimensional turbulent porous modeling. This modeling can consider three-dimensional configuration of passage (flat tube with micro-channels), and the stability and accuracy of numerical results are improved. The geometrical parameters(e.g., the position of separators, inlet/outlet, and porosity of passages of a PFHE) are varied in order to examine the flow and thermal characteristics and flow distribution of the single phase multiple passages system. The flow non-uniformities along the paths of the PFHE are observed to evaluate the thermal performance of the heat exchanger. The location of inlet affects the heat transfer, and the location of outlet affects the pressure drop. The porosity with the optimum thermal performance is around 0.53.
