The transverse vibration of the deploying beam from rigid hub was analyzed by simulation and experiment. The linear governing equation of the deploying beam was obtained using the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. To discretize the governing equation, the Galerkin method was used. After transforming the governing equation into the weak form, the weak form was discretized. The discretized equation was expressed by the matrix-vector form, and then the Newmark method was applied to simulate. To consider the damping effect of the beam, we conducted the modal test with various beam length. The mass proportional damping was selected by the relation of the first and second damping ratio. The proportional damping coefficient was calculated using the acquired natural frequency and damping ratio through the modal test. The experiment was set up to measure the transverse vibration of the deploying beam. The fixed beam at the carriage of the linear actuator was moved by moving the carriage. The transverse vibration of the deploying beam was observed by the Eulerian description near the hub. The deploying or retraction motion of the beam had the constant velocity and the velocity profile with acceleration and deceleration. We compared the transverse vibration results by the simulation and experiment. The observed response by the Eulerian description were analyzed.

EZW proposed by Shapiro is based on a zerotree constructed in a way that a parent coefficient in a subband is related to four child coefficients in the next finer subband of similar orientation. This fixed treeing based on 1-to-4 parent-child is suitable to exploti hierachical correlations among subbands but not to exploit spatial correlations within a subband. A new treeing by Joo, et al. is suggested to simulatneously exploit those two correlatins by extending parent-child relationship in a flexible way. The flexible treeing leads to increasing the number of symbols and lowering entorpy comparing to the fixed treeing, and therefore a better compression can be resulted. In this paper, we suggest two techniques to suppress the increasing of symbols. First, a probing bit is generated to avoid redundant scan for insignivicant coefficients. Second, since all subbands do not always require the same kind of symbol-set, produced symbols are re-symbolized into binary codes according to a pre-defined procedure. Owing to those techniques, all symbols are generated as binary codes. The binary symbols can be entropy-coded by an adaptive arithmetic coding. Moerover, the binary symbol stream can give comparatively good performances without help of additional entropy coding. Our proposed coding scheme is suggested in two modes: binary coding mode and arithmetic coding mode. We evaluate the effectivenessof our modifications by comparing with the original EZW.

The fatigue analysis is performed to avoid structural failure in aerospace structures under repeated loads. In this paper, the fatigue life is estimated for the design of tilt rotor UAV. First of all, the fatigue load spectrum for tilt rotor UAV is generated. Fatigue analysis is done for the flaperon joint which may have FCL(fracture critical location). Tilt rotor UAV operates at two modes: helicopter mode such as taking off and landing; fixed wing mode like cruising. To make overall fatigue load spectrum, FELIX is used for helicopter mode and TWIST is used for fixed wing mode. The other hand, the Kriging meta model is used to get S-N regression curve for whole range of material life when S-N test data are analyzed. And then, the second order of S-N curve is accomplished by the least square method. In addition, the coefficient of determination method is used to ensure how accuracy it has. Finally, the fatigue life of flaperon joint is compared with that obtained by MSC. Fatigue.

Lin and Chan proposed a reversible secret image sharing scheme in 2010. The advantages of their scheme are as follows: the low distortion ratio, high embedding capacity of shadow images and usage of the reversible. However, their scheme has some problems. First, the number of participants is limited because of modulus prime number m. Second, the overflow can be occurred by additional operations (quantized value and the result value of polynomial) in the secret sharing procedure. Finally, if the coefficient of (t-1)th degree polynomial become zero, (t-1) participants can access secret data. In this paper, an improved reversible secret image sharing scheme which solves the problems of Lin and Chan's scheme while provides the low distortion ratio and high embedding capacity is proposed. The proposed scheme solves the problems that are a limit of a total number of participants, and occurrence of overflow by new polynomial operation over GF($2^8$). Also, it solve problem that the coefficient of (t-1)th degree polynomial become zero by fixed MSB 4-bit constant. In the experimental results, PSNR of their scheme is decreased with the increase of embedding capacity. However, even if the embedding capacity increase, PSNR value of about 45dB or more is maintained uniformly in the proposed scheme.
The study was conducted to analyze the genetic parameters of somatic cell score (SCS) of Holstein cows, which is an important indicator to udder health. Test-day records of somatic cell counts (SCC) of 305-day lactation design from first to fifth lactations were collected on Holsteins in Korea during 2000 to 2012. Records of animals within 18 to 42 months, 30 to 54 months, 42 to 66 months, 54 to 78 months, and 66 to 90 months of age at the first, second, third, fourth and fifth parities were analyzed, respectively. Somatic cell scores were calculated, and adjusted for lactation production stages by Wilmink's function. Lactation averages of SCS ($LSCS_1$ through $LSCS_5$) were derived by further adjustments of each test-day SCS for five age groups in particular lactations. Two datasets were prepared through restrictions on number of sires/herd and dams/herd, progenies/sire, and number of parities/cow to reduce data size and attain better relationships among animals. All LSCS traits were treated as individual trait and, analyzed through multiple-trait sire models and single trait animal models via VCE 6.0 software package. Herd-year was fitted as a random effect. Age at calving was regressed as a fixed covariate. The mean LSCS of five lactations were between 3.507 and 4.322 that corresponded to a SCC range between 71,000 and 125,000 cells/mL; with coefficient of variation from 28.2% to 29.9%. Heritability estimates from sire models were within the range of 0.10 to 0.16 for all LSCS. Heritability was the highest at lactation 2 from both datasets (0.14/0.16) and lowest at lactation 5 (0.11/0.10) using sire model. Heritabilities from single trait animal model analyses were slightly higher than sire models. Genetic correlations between LSCS traits were strong (0.62 to 0.99). Very strong associations (0.96 to 0.99) were present between successive records of later lactations. Phenotypic correlations were relatively weaker (<0.55). All correlations became weaker at distant lactations. The estimated breeding values (EBVs) of LSCS traits were somewhat similar over the years for a particular lactation, but increased with lactation number increment. The lowest EBV in first lactation indicated that selection for SCS (mastitis resistance) might be better with later lactation records. It is expected that results obtained from these multi-trait lactation model analyses, being the first large scale SCS data analysis in Korea, would create a good starting step for application of advanced statistical tools for future genomic studies focusing on selection for mastitis resistance in Holsteins of Korea.

This paper relates with the performance improvement of SE-MMA (Signed Error-Multiple Modulus Algorithm) adaptive equalization algorithm that is used for the reduction of the intersymbol interference due to the distortion which occurs in the communication channel for the transmission of 16-QAM nonconstant modulus signal.. In the conventional MMA, the fixed modulus value that is second order statistics of transmitting signal were used, and the SE-MMA was introduced in order to the simplification of the algorithm's arithmetic operation. The SE-MMA have a fast convergence speed than MMA, but it has a problem of degradation of equalization performance in the steady state due to the arithmetic simplification. In this paper, we propose the new algorithm AV-SE-MMA (Adaptively Varying-SE-MMA) that uses the adaptive varying modulus in order to obtain the error signal for updating the adaptive equalizer coefficient, and its equalization performance were confirmed by simulation. In this paper, the performance of SE-MMA and proposed algorithm were compared, and the equalizer output signal constellation, residual isi, MSE and SER in order to confirm the robustness of noise were used as performace index. As a result of performance comparison, the AV-SE-MMA has better performance in output signal constellation, residual isi and MD compared to the SE-MMA, but it was confirmed that the AV-SE-MMA has similar in the SER performance that means the robustness to the noise.
This study is to analyze the determinants of inflow FDI with panel data of 12 provinces in western region of China for the period, 1990-2007, from the perspective of market-oriented FDI and production-efficiency-oriented FDI. The empirical findings are following. First, the empirical results prior to the start of western development program show that the GRDP, the intense of industrialization and university graduates per 10,000 residents have positive coefficient signs at the significant level, while wage level has a negative and significant value. Second the empirical results using the data after the launching of the western development program show that the GRDP, the intense of industrialization have positive relations with FDI, while openness in terms of the ratio of international trade to GRDP and the wage level have negative coefficients. Finally, this thesis finds that the empirical results for both periods are very similar, which suggest that the economic structure in western region has not changed significantly even though almost a decade passed since the western development program launched.

Propagation characteristics in line-of-sight(LOS) paths in 3, 6, 10, and 17 GHz frequency bands were measured and analyzed in two different indoor corridors: second floors of Buildings D2 and E2. The measurement was designed to measure when the receiving antenna moved at 0.5 m intervals from 3 m to 30 m, while the transmission antenna was fixed. The analysis of the two indoor corridors was compared by applying basic transmission loss, root mean square (RMS) delay spread, and K-factor. For basic transmission loss, the loss coefficient of the floating intercept path loss model was higher in the indoor corridor of Building E2 than in that of Building D2. Similarly, the RMS delay spread in the time domain was greater in the indoor corridor of Building E2. However, the indoor corridor of Building D2 exhibited higher K-factor in the 3, 6, and 17 GHz bands with lower wave propagation in the 10 GHz band. Despite the 2 indoor corridors being identical, the propagation characteristics varied due to different internal structures and materials. The results provide measurement data for ITU-R Recommendations regarding various indoor environments.

The purpose of this study was to develop a Science Academic Emotion Scale for Elementary Students. To make a scale, authors extract a core of 14 emotions related to science learning situations from Kim & Kim (2013) and literature review. Items on the scale consisted of 14 emotions and science learning situations. The first preliminary scale had 174 items on it. The number of 174 items was reduced and elaborated on by three science educators. Authors verified the scale using exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, inter-item consistency and concurrent validity. The second preliminary scale consisted of 141 items. The preliminary scale was reduced to seven factors and 56 items by applying exploratory factor analysis twice. The seven factors include: enjoyment contentment interest, boredom, shame, discontent, anger, anxiety, and laziness. The 56 items were elaborated on by five science educators. The scale with 56 items was fixed with seven factors and 35 items to get the final scale by applying confirmatory factor analysis twice. Except for Chi-square and GFI (Goodness of Fit Index), other various goodness of fit characteristics of the seven factors and 35 items model showed good estimated figures. The Cronbach of the scale was 0.85. The Cronbach of seven factors are 0.95 in enjoyment contentment interest, 0.81 in boredom, 0.87 in shame, 0.82 in discontent, 0.87 in anger, 0.77 in anxiety, 0.81 in laziness. The correlation coefficient was 0.59 in enjoyment contentment interest, 0.54 in anxiety, 0.42 in shame, and 0.28 in boredom, which were estimated using the Science Academic Emotion Scale and National Assessment System of Science-Related Affective Domain (Kim et al., 1998). Based on the results, authors judged that the Science Academic Emotion Scale for Elementary Students achieved an acceptable validity and reliability.
