As a result, the investigation into Gyung-Ak (景岳)'s theory of Myungmun (命門) was led to the next conclusions. First, Gyung-Ak (景岳) defmed Myungmun as the gate of Suncheon (先天) and Whoocheon (後天), by which the life of Suncheon is obtained and the life of Whoocheon is maintained. He maintained that Myungmun is located between two kindneys, not sided to the right as in the Nankyeong (難經), and considered the substance of Myungmun as Jagung (子宮 ${\fallingdotseq}$ uterus) or the other names as such Jaho (子戶), Jajang (子腸) Danjeon (丹田), Hyeolsil (血室), etc. On the essence or function of Myungmun it was considered as Taegeuk (太極) of the body which shapes the North Pole in the center of the body, and as the hinge of rise and fall, as controller of Soowha-action (水火作用) and Eumyang-changing (陰陽變化), and as storage of Suncheon Jinil-ki (先天 眞一之氣), the source of life and vitality and as the spring of Twelve-Jang (十二藏). Thus, the function of Five-Jang (五臟 ${\fallingdotseq}$ Five-Viscera) and Six-Boo (六腑 ${\fallingdotseq}$ Six-Bowels) and actions of life is obtainded by Myungmun, and the life and death of man and the change of life is related to that. Bi-Wi (脾胃 ${\fallingdotseq}$ Spleen & Stomach) as well as Myungmun is the root of Five-Jang and Six-Boo, but since Bi-Wi is the base of postnatal nutrition to belong to the son of Wonyang (元陽), Myungmun is treated more important as the mother of Bi-Wi. Sin (賢 ${fallingdotseq}$ Kidney) was perceived as inseparably related with Myungmun, but in the course of theoretical development the function of Sin was considered to be ultimately operated by the action of Myungmun. In the Theory of Jineum (眞陰論), Gyung-Ak full accounted the diverse nature of disease and patholog from Soowha-shortage of Myungmun, and presented the laws and methods of medical treatment to those. Finally, in his theory related to Myungmun, some logical contradiction and confusion in conceptions was discovered and the anatomy of Present age proved that the location of Jagung and DanJeon, which he recognized as the substance of Myungmun is not coincided. Summerizingly, the Gyung-Ak's theory of Myungmun closely related the theory of Myungmun to the theory of Eumyang-Jungki (陰陽精氣論), by whole discourse of the characteristics of physiology possessing Soowha of Myungmun on the foundation of Eumyang-hogeun (陰陽互根) and Jungki-hosaeng (精氣互生). Gyung-Ak regarded the function of Myungmun as more important than any other Jang, discoursed more systematically and more specifically about the Myungmun than any others, and presented the theory of Sin-Myung (賢命理論) and prescription which is important to Care of Health and Medical Treatment (養生治病), thus influenced very greatly on the development of Oriental Medicine.

The aim of this study was to identify the reliability and the validity of Five Organs Questionnaire (FOQ). In this study, 335 data was collected from early adulthood of A-city, D-city and C-city in South Korea from Dec. 2016 to Jan. 2017, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 23.0 software. The result showed that the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of five organs was 0.775-0.853. The reliabilities of test and retest Intra Correlation Coefficient (ICC) for the five organs were .891-.929 in pattern identification and .874-.930 in functional evaluation, respectively. Each organ was divided by two factors, and the factor loadings of Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung and Kidney were 52.973%, 54.534%, 57.060%, 53.803%, and 46.337%, respectively. The functional evaluation of five organs was associated with self-rated health status as r was -.443 to -.583(p<.001), and quality of life as r was -.5.17 to -.716(p<.001), respectively. The test-retest diagnostic agreement was 67.2% and Kappa was 0.562. This study revealed that FOQ is a reliable and valid questionnaire.
Objectives : In order to infer the effect of blood-activating and stasis-dispelling herbs by the analysis of effect terms which have extracted and refined, based on five tastes. Methods : I extracted the effect terms and five tastes of blood-activating and stasis-dispelling herbs written in Herbology. Extracted effect terms was divided into single meaning term and was refined as typical term. After that, I sorted herbs according to the five tastes and find the most highly mentioned effect terms. And I infered each herb's effects based on the relationship between five tastes and most highly mentioned terms. Results & Conclusions : I extracted 5 tastes and 53 effect terms and refined it as 43 effect terms. As the result of analyzing the effect term based the tastes, blood-activating and stasis-dispelling herbs are usually have blood-activating and pain-relieving. The herbs that have the hot taste, have the effect of moving-qi, stasis-breaking and aggregation-dispersing. And I supposed new effects of 5 kinds of herbs among them. The herbs that have the sweet tastes, have the effect of stasis-dispelling. And I supposed new effects of 2 kinds of herbs among them by analyzing the relationship between the tastes and effect terms.

Objectives : The objective of this paper is to study the literature on stagnation pattern, to further determine reasoning for the emphasis on Liver-qi stagnation out of all the Five Zang stagnation patterns. Methods : Stagnation patterns in literature from the Xian-Qin/Liang-Han period, Sui-Tang-Song period, Jin-Yuan period and Ming-Qing period were studied and analyzed. Results & Conclusions : Based on chronological analysis on discussions of stagnation pattern, the Five stagnation in the Neijing were related to the excessiveness and deficiency of the Five circuits. After the discussions of the Four Masters of the Jin-Yuan period, WangAndao explained that stagnation could happen without relation to external contraction in his discussion of Benqiziyubing. Yutuan focused on the inter-relationship between the six stagnation patterns, emphasizing qi stagnation, while Sunyikui discussed stagnation pattern within the framework of the Five Zang stagnation. Zhaoxianke argued for the first time that one of the treatment methods of Wood stagnation could replace the five treatment methods, focusing on Wood stagnation which could be the clue to stagnation pattern. Of current Zangfu diagnostic terminology, the influential Liver qi stagnation remains to this day.

This study was aimed to develop the instrument of Korean medical pattern Identification and Functional Evaluation for Five Organ. This study followed seven steps, consisted of first composition of research members, second set-up of the aim, third review for advanced research, fourth finding an important index, fifth puting on the weight for index, sixth advice from linguist and last development of draft of questionnaire. Twenty two in and out researchers joined and put the weight on each question. We developed a draft version of questionnaire of Korean medical pattern identification and functional evaluation for five organ. Most questions between pattern identification and functional evaluation of five organ have similar weight, but several ones have difference in order. Generally, specific symptom represented specific location or related with pain have relatively higher weight on pattern identification, and weakness question gained weight on functional evaluation. We develop the questionnaire of Korean medical pattern identification and functional evaluation for five organ. Following study, which will evaluate the reliability and validity, is needed.
This study investigates the influences of factors such as type and degree of family leisure among parents with five day work weeks on adolescents' perceived family strengths. Its findings are based on questionnaires collected from 525 male and female parents of middle school students. Factor analysis and MANOVA were employed for data analysis and $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ tests for post-hoc analysis. The main findings were as follows. First, adolescents whose parents work five days a week were at a higher level than other adolescents in terms of finances, family ties, communication, and social ties. Second, there were no significant differences concerning adolescents' family strength by type of family leisure. Third, adolescents with more family leisure activities scored higher than others in the areas of manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. Fourth, among families following the five day working system, adolescents who had more family leisure activities scored higher than the others in regards to manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. Additionally, where adolescents thought they had fewer family leisure activities, family-oriented adolescents tended to be engaged in higher physical-activity-oriented and hobby-oriented activities in relation to manageable strengths, financial level, family ties, and communication and hobby-oriented adolescents engaged in higher than average amounts of physical-activity, strengthening family social ties in the process. Fifth, concerning families not adhering to the five day working system, adolescents who had more family leisure activities scored higher than others in terms of manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. As the above results indicate, family leisure activities appear to be a key factor influencing family strength. Therefore, further support should be extended toward developing new forms of family leisure and additional studies should be devoted to the subject.
In our study, we tried to quantify Qi through establishing the interpretive method which would be used for inspecting the interrelationship between the Qi in Oriental Medicine and the physiological signals measured at the acupoint. We found out that some physiological signals measured at the acupoint of Meridian could be considered as a scientific Qi. Circulation rules of Qi probating the linkage between physiological signals and Qi are presented as promoting and counteracting rules of the Five Evolutive Phases within the traditional Oriental medicine literatures. We found that promoting and counteracting relations of the Five Evolutive Phases based on the New table about the rule of causing unbalance state(nTRCUS) can be widely used as a interpreting device for verifying the interrelation of human physiological signals and Qi. Standardizing the measured physiological signals into percentage could make relative comparison and judgement of the Five Evolutive Phases deviation possible. Though the physiological signals measured by instruments have different physical values, we could have the interpretation by the same promoting and counteracting rules of the Five Enolutive Phases. We measured EAV indices for 24 hours and discussed them in the view of Qi Circulation in Meridian.
In oriental medicine, from old times, psychological therapy has been regarded as physical therapy that has been inseparable from psychological therapy. The major objects for oriental psychological therapy is human emotions. Human emotions can be put in the seven feelings(七精) that include Joy(善), Anger(怒), Grief(思), Pity(悲), Fear(恐), Surprise(驚). The seven feelings are connected with human physiology. If each of the seven feelings if excessive, human physiology loses its valance. So the seven feelings are major causes of diseases. The specific character of oriental neuropsychiatry is to make use of the seven feelings in clinical treatment. These oriental neuropsychiatry therapies are performed through consultation with the patient. Of these therapies, Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) is based on the theo교 of interrelation in five elements(metal, wood, water, fire, and earth) in oriental medicine. Specially the sequential subjugations of the five emotions are applied. The contents of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) include five subjugations of five emotions. Anxiety subjugates fear(思勝恐), fear subjugates joy(恐勝喜), joy subjugates pity(喜勝悲), pity subjugates anger(悲勝怒) and anger subjugates anxiety(怒勝思). The psychological therapy of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) can be applied in all area of neuropsychiatry. These days, many mental diseases such as Panic Disorder, Depression Somatoform disorders, and negative symptoms of Schizophrenia have been improved by Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) therapy. Here, we present the treatment cases applied Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) therapy in oriental medicine quoted from old oriental books and the latest treatment cases. Moreover, we hope that many oriental therapist will treat many different patients with mental disorders by Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝療法) therapy.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine oriental medical concept of emotional intelligence, and to develop the ways of treatment. Methods: We investigated the literature of the oriental and western medicine about an emotional intelligence. Results: Regarding an emotional intelligence from the oriental medicine, it will follow in attributes of five elements(五行), five emotions(五志), seven passions(七情). Due to the five emotions and seven passions will take to control themselves with following the principle of poles at interinhibition, and intergeneration among the five phases. There is a possibility of trying to apply in reflection control of emotion(partIV). Five emotions(五志), depression theories(鬱症), and a control of theories of seven passions(七情調節) will be applied an emotional stability and an emotional control. Conclusion: This study showed that oriental medicine has more merits better than western medicine about emotional intelligence, because oriental medicine consider that the body and mental is an inseparable relation. The further study is necessary with the concept formulation and a historical investigation about an emotional intelligence.
The objectives of this study were to examine the physiological responses to ozone and to measure ozone uptake rates of Betula species exposed to relatively high concentration of pollutants. At the end of the growing season, photosynthesis, pigments contents, antioxidants (SOD and GR) and ozone uptake rates were measured or estimated at the leaves of five Betula species (Betula costata, B. davurica, B. platyphylla var. japonica, B. schmidtii and B. ermanii) exposed to 100ppb ozone concentration. On the termination of the experiment, growth effects were determined by measuring leaf area and dry weights of leaf, stem and root. Ozone treatment showed the significant reduction the leaf area and dry weight of four Betula species, except for B. ermanii. Shoot / root (SR) ratio of five species represented two different types. SR ratio of B. costata and B. davurica were lower than control, in contrast, SR ratio of B. platyphylla var. japonica, B. schimidtii and B. emani, were higher than that of control. The photosynthetic responses of five species were different in responses to ozone exposure. Four species, except for B. emanii, maintained or increased the stomatal conductance, but B. emanii decreased both stomatal conductance and photosynthesis. SOD activities of five species decreased by the ozone exposure, especially B. ermanii showed the largest reduction, GR activities of B. platyphylla var. japonica and B. schmidtii increased, B. costata and B. emanii decreased. Instantaneous ozone uptake rate was the highest at the leaves of B. ermanii and B. costata, ozone uptake per seedling was the highest at the leaf of B. schmidtii and B. emanii. It was concluded that B. costata, B. davurica and B. platyphylla var. japonica, appeared the growth reduction and visible ozone injury, were sensitive species to ozone, and B. schmidtii with the increased antioxidant activity and B. ermanii without the growth reduction were relatively resistant species to high ozone concentration at the early growing stage.
